00:12After Chan returns home from Lin's house, she sits down and looks through all their old childhood photos, their teenage and school pictures.
00:23Each photo brings back a wave of memories and pain. Just then, her aunt walks in and says,
00:32I've packed your clothes, dear. Take care of yourself. I'm going out with aunt home and if you get the chance, please read that shirt Lin gave you.
00:42With that, she leaves.
00:43Chan looks at the shirt and decides she should finally read it. She examines every corner but doesn't find anything written.
00:53There's nothing on it. She sighs. Then she walks downstairs and freezes. Lin is already there. Shocked, Chan whispers,
01:04Lin? Lin turns and softly says,
01:09Chan?
01:10They sit down together and Lin apologizes.
01:14I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted that way. I wasn't angry at you. Not even when you asked me. If I still love you, would you love me back?
01:24I wasn't angry when you kissed me either. In fact, she pauses,
01:29I like being with you. When you're close, I feel excited. When you look at me shyly, I feel something more.
01:38Maybe what we have isn't just friendship anymore. I think I like you.
01:45She moves closer and gently kisses Chan. The moment their soft lips touch, they both lose themselves completely in that quiet, tender rush of emotion.
01:57This scene shifts. The two are now at Chan's restaurant. It's opening time. As Chan walks in, she notices a bouquet of flowers.
02:07Lin asks,
02:09What kind of flowers that?
02:11Chan replies,
02:12Lily of the valley.
02:14Lin wants to know more, but Chan avoids explaining and heads straight to the kitchen.
02:19Inside, two staff members, one male and one female, greet her.
02:26Boss, you got flowers again. Same sender, same date. The 15th. You're really lucky. Someone must like you a lot.
02:36Lin smiles quietly in the background. She then asks,
02:40When you finish the food photography, can I take your photo too?
02:44Chan smiles.
02:45It's up to you.
02:47Seeing them together, the two staff members whisper to each other.
02:52Did you notice something?
02:53The male asks,
02:55What?
02:57They're not just friends.
02:59Not friends, but they look like close friends.
03:02No, more than that. There's couple vibes between them.
03:06They giggle and continue gossiping about how their boss might finally have a partner.
03:11Later that night, after closing the restaurant, everyone leaves.
03:17Chan and Lin walk out together.
03:19Lin asks,
03:20Do you do all this alone every day? Don't you ever get bored?
03:24Chan reprise,
03:25No, because I'm doing what I love.
03:27And keeps walking.
03:29Lin glances at the couch, the same place where, a few days earlier, she had kissed Chan after drinking.
03:37She remembers how Chan had denied remembering it.
03:41Chan calls softly.
03:43Lin, come on, let's go.
03:45Lin hesitates, then asks,
03:48Can I stay at your place tonight?
03:50I really don't want to face my mom.
03:52Chan nods.
03:54Okay, but message Aunt Om so she won't worry.
03:57They reach home and Chan notices her aunt isn't there.
04:02Maybe Aunt Tuk is at my mom's house.
04:04It's good.
04:05Mom needs to talk things out.
04:07Maybe tomorrow she'll feel better.
04:09Chan smiles gently.
04:11Then that's great.
04:13Let her release her anger.
04:15Both head to the bedroom.
04:16Chan says,
04:17Okay, I'll take the first shower.
04:20Lin nods.
04:21Sure, I'll wait.
04:23Lin sits on the bed, looking at their old school shirt.
04:26Chan comes out and asks,
04:28Why didn't you write anything on my shirt?
04:31Lin looks surprised.
04:33But I did.
04:34Didn't you see it?
04:35Chan sighs.
04:37When you left, I was angry at you.
04:39I never looked at it again.
04:41I only took it out today and I saw nothing written.
04:45Lin shows her the hidden corner of the shirt and there it is.
04:49I'm sorry, Jane, that I couldn't keep my promise.
04:53Lin says softly.
04:55Even back then, I wanted to apologize.
04:58I just couldn't say it.
04:59I broke our promise and that's why I wrote it there.
05:03I thought you'd read it one day.
05:05I thought you'd understand.
05:07Chan looks at her tenderly and asks,
05:09And now, what promise are you talking about?
05:12She takes her hand and replies,
05:15If our relationship doesn't work out,
05:17let's still stay friends, just like before.
05:21Chan smiles faintly and says,
05:23Can we make a new promise then?
05:25What promise?
05:27Lin asks,
05:28Promise me you won't disappear from my life again.
05:32Chan whispers.
05:33Lin nods with a small smile and kisses Chan's hand and says,
05:39I promise.
