A total of 17 people have been injured after a bus mounted the pavement near Victoria Station in central London.

00:00very dramatic scenes from westminster on thursday morning we are here just by victoria station in
00:15fact the cordon is one of the first things you see when you come out we understand the incident
00:19happened during the morning rush hour at around 8 20 a.m and we've heard that at least 17 people
00:26have been injured with at midday on thursday the bus driver among 15 in hospital the bus mounted
00:35the pavement here on victoria street and then what looks like proceeded to crash into a number
00:43of bollards just looking at the severe damage behind me to the front of the bus gives you an
00:51idea uh of the severity of this incident a trial of diesel running down allington street which is
00:59actually a pedestrianized road just to the side of me has forced police to ban smoking in the area over
01:08fears of an incident we've heard from a number of witnesses this is of course usually a very busy
01:17area for commuters especially at rush hour emmett sucker told the pa news agency the bus was coming
01:26from westminster he said it was going very fast and came off the road he added he believed there were
01:34about 15 to 16 people inside the bus commenting that he had people screaming
