00:00Producer and actress Pallavi Joshi of the much-awaited film The Bengal Files has written an open letter to the President of India, Zawpadi Murmur, through which the actress has appealed to protect her constitutional right and let the Bengal Files be shown in West Bengal peacefully.
00:23Pallavi took to Instagram where she shared the letter in which she wrote,
00:28Respected Madam President, with a heavy heart, I reach out to you not for favors but for protection.
00:35In the letter, she mentioned her upcoming film The Bengal Files and wrote,
00:40The Bengal Files, the final part of the Files trilogy, releases on 5th September.
00:46It tells the long-suppressed truth of the Hindu genocide, of Direct Action Day, the horror of Noah Kali and the trauma of partition.
00:57In her letter, Pallavi claimed that in West Bengal, truth is under siege.
01:02Years before completion, the chief minister mocked the film.
01:06Since then, baseless FIrs have been filed.
01:09Trailer was blocked by police.
01:10Pallavi concluded the letter by saying,
01:13Madam President, I seek not a favor for a film but space for art, for truth, for Mahabharti's soul to speak without fear.
01:22You are my final hope.
01:24Please protect our constitutional right and let the Bengal Files be shown in West Bengal peacefully.

01:36As producer of The Bengal Files, I am trained that multiplex chains in Bengal have refused the film's release under political pressure and threats by the ruling party.
01:48I plead for your intervention to uphold my constitutional right and ensure its release in Bengal.
