00:24So, why is it so small?
00:27Yastown Station was originally linked to the main southern line at Yast Junction by a 4.3 kilometre long tramway, which didn't require a platform for access.
00:41When in 1917 the line converted to a conventional locomotive hauled branch line, the tiny raised platform was added to allow passengers to access traditional train carriages.
00:55Passenger services ceased on the Yastown line in the late 1950s and goods services in the late 1980s.
01:03And these days the small platform, claimed by some locals to not only be the shortest in New South Wales, but also the entire country, is a drawcard for visitors to the town's railway museum.

01:21The museum, which also features historic machinery and rolling stock, is run by a dedicated band of volunteers and is open on Sundays between 10 and 4.
