00:00or the race just in terms of the school mandates obviously that's a big big change have you spoken
00:06to legislative leaders about this and how much legislative you know push you're going to go here
00:11to try to make this a reality well I think so on the department of health do you want to address
00:18those specific vaccines that are on it's like hepatitis some of the ones that you know would
00:23not have been required when I was growing up for example I think by and large okay so so you can do
00:28that so so that'll happen and then the rest will be I think what we're going to do is we're going to
00:34have a big medical freedom package you know I think that you should not ever be discriminated against
00:40regardless of your these choices and so you know I think it's wrong for pediatricians to refuse to see
00:49a patient if the if the child's parents don't want them taking the hepatitis vaccine I just I think
00:54that's wrong and it's coercive and what it does is it tries to undercut your ability to choose by
01:01almost kind of ostracizing people that have made different decisions and these are all very marginal
01:06things as I said you know they weren't they didn't do hepatitis when I was a kid so so but I think what
01:13we'll have is a larger package I think that Joe will lead on this and be working with legislatures on
01:19this but we need to make our all the protections I talked about that we enacted are not permanent law
01:26they did it temporarily then they then they extended it I want it to be permanent and I and I suspect and
01:33I'm concerned about that because I think some of these folks you know in the legislature may be like
01:37oh well if we can just wait the governor out then we know you know that after that then this stuff will
01:43somehow lapse and that's not right it was wrong to do vaccine passports in 2021 it's wrong to do them
01:50in 2025 and it will be wrong to do them in 2035 and we need to make that permanent
01:55so there'll be there'll be a broad package I think there'll be array of things and I think this
02:06commission will help inform some of those proposals but they'll just track our basic principles informed
02:12consent parental rights and an individual responsibility and medical freedom
02:17legislative leaders yet about this package so we some of the stuff we tried to get last year like
02:26the permanent COVID the protections against the coercion they extended it but they did not do the
02:35the permanent and so we're gonna try again on that now the the mandate issue with the schools
02:42you know that's that's Joe called me last night and said hey you know this is where I think we
02:48should shoot for are you okay if I do it and I said shoot for the moon man you're the surgeon
02:53general if you think this is good you know do it so he's gonna be working with the legislature I
02:57don't think he's had a chance to discuss this with them we knew we were making the announcement
03:02about the non statutory mandates well first of all I mean you know it's one thing if a legislature
03:07enacts something and a governor signs it but to just have an agency issue a mandate I don't think
03:13that that's appropriate so I think what he's doing is is absolutely right on that era era respective of
03:19even the the medical which I think as he's pointed out you know it's probably not something that I mean the
03:25reasonable people can make different decisions on those but just from a constitutional perspective
03:29it's like to just give an agency roving authority to issue mandates I don't think that's good
03:35constitutional government so he's reeling that in I think that'll be good
