00:00Let's look at the five teams that just need it the most.
00:03The five teams under the most pressure in the 2025 NFL season.
00:13Who needs it the most in the NFL this year?
00:17Let's break it down as we continue our 2025 NFL previews.
00:22Honorable mention goes to the Detroit Lions.
00:25I put honorable mention here because this is easily the best stretch this franchise has had
00:29in my lifetime and probably beyond.
00:31So it is tough to say, man, win more because who knows, right?
00:37But they've been so close for so long.
00:39They have a lot of losses in the coaching department and on that offensive line.
00:43But this is still a team that has been close enough for a while
00:46that I think there is pressure for them to take that next step
00:48and at least play for a Super Bowl.
00:51But because of the low nature of the bar that they've had to clear for the last little bit,
00:57I don't think that pressure is on them.
00:59Just quite yet to the level of some of these other teams.
01:02So coming in at number five is the Chicago Bears.
01:05And now pressure means different things for different teams.
01:08As I said, kind of in the open of this.
01:10For the Bears, I think there is an immense pressure to take a giant step forward this year.
01:15They made a move that everyone applauded as this giant thing that they were able to make this big splash.
01:22Trading picks with Carolina.
01:24And look at that.
01:25They've ended up with Caleb Williams.
01:27Well, then year one happened.
01:28And this guy who was the most hyped prospect that we had had since Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence,
01:33whatever delineation you wanted to put on.
01:36This was a Heisman Trophy winner coming out of USC that everyone had pegged for a year
01:41as the number one overall pick.
01:44And it didn't go great in year number one.
01:46I think there is incredible pressure in Chicago to make this look significantly better than what it did a season ago.
01:55So is it Super Bowl or bust in Chicago?
01:58I don't think so.
01:58But is the pressure on them probably greater than a lot of other teams in the league?
02:04I would say yes, it is.
02:06At number four, it is the LA Rams.
02:09A recent Super Bowl champion.
02:10So again, that pressure not necessarily as much.
02:13This one is more a race against time with their quarterback, Matthew Stafford.
02:18And you are already seeing the signs of aging with Stafford having the back problems here in training camp.
02:24But this is a team that still, I think that they recovered really well after championship year.
02:30They sold a lot of draft picks to make that push to get to that level.
02:34You would think there would be a bit of a falling off and there was a touch of one.
02:37But they, scouting, developing, everything, they found a few diamonds in the rough
02:43and did a great job of rebuilding specifically that defense.
02:46But then finding the next wave on offense with Kyron Williams and Puka Nakua.
02:50So I don't think that if once Matthew Stafford leaves, it is going to be the Patriots turning
02:56to Jacoby Brissett and Mac Jones.
02:58But I do think that there is pressure to still win while you have that guy as your quarterback
03:04and try to take advantage of that instead of, well, maybe Jimmy Garoppolo or we'll find something.
03:10So I think there's some pressure on them.
03:11At number three, it's kind of similar to the Chicago Bears.
03:14I have the Jacksonville Jaguars.
03:16I don't think the pressure is necessarily on the coach.
03:18He's a first time coach.
03:20The GM probably.
03:22Well, no, first time GM there, or new GM there anyway.
03:24But the pressure's on Trevor Lawrence.
03:28Again, like we talked about how Caleb Williams was the most hyped whatever.
03:31Trevor Lawrence was can't miss.
03:33This was as stone cold of a lock to come in and not just play well, but to change a franchise
03:38that we had had in a really long time.
03:41And it hasn't worked.
03:42And you can very much make the compelling arguments that he has not been given the offensive
03:47line or the weapons to help support him.
03:49But I take you back to his draft time and that wasn't supposed to matter with him.
03:55Is that an unfair bar to set?
03:56You're gosh darn right it is.
03:58But this guy was supposed to be transformative for Jacksonville and it just hasn't been.
04:04So this is, I don't think they've given him enough again going into this season, but this
04:10is a year that I think it has to turn around there or else serious, serious questions are
04:14going to be asked about the future of Trevor Lawrence.
04:17I think a lot of people have already written him off.
04:19This is going to be kind of the last dance here for me with him.
04:22The next two are in the Super Bowl or bust category.
04:25It's the Baltimore Ravens.
04:26They are under significant pressure for the upcoming NFL season.
04:30When you look at having Lamar Jackson, this whole era of Lamar Jackson football and trying
04:36to make a run toward a championship.
04:37And every time it seems like they get close, either, well, it's a lot of times fumbles around
04:42the goal line, to be perfectly honest.
04:44And that ends up being the dagger for them.
04:47They have come close.
04:48They have had elite talent for a while.
04:49Last year kind of felt like it was the chance for them, given how good they played in the
04:54regular season.
04:55It didn't happen.
04:56But that pressure, I think, is really starting to mount for this team to break through in
05:02a real big time way, whether it be past the Chiefs, the Bengals, or the team that's number
05:07one on this list, the Buffalo Bills.
05:09As Josh Allen gets them to an AFC championship game, they had the ball with an opportunity to
05:15strike against Kansas City, and they couldn't quite pull it off.
05:18Not Josh Allen's fault.
05:19I'm not saying, like, he does not have the pressure, I guess, that some of these guys
05:22do, where it's like, boy, is this guy going to figure it out?
05:24He's one of the best quarterbacks in the league, like, number one or two or three, depending
05:30on where you're at.
05:31I guess some may have him for.
05:32But this is genuinely one of the best players in the league, in Josh Allen.
05:36And they've had him there for a while, and don't have a Super Bowl appearance to show
05:40for it.
05:41But I feel like the pressure is really going to start to mount on Buffalo, if it is another
05:47trip to the Super Bowl for Kansas City, another disappointing playoff loss.
05:51I feel like the Buffalo Bills are the team this year that has the most pressure on them
05:56in the National Football League.
05:59Let me know your thoughts.
06:00Am I out to lunch in thinking that Buffalo has all of that pressure on them?
06:04Let me know.
