00:00A stormy September is brewing in the Pacific and Atlantic.
00:03Hurricane Kiko has officially formed off Mexico's coast
00:06with winds of 105 miles per hour,
00:09and it's still gaining strength.
00:11But that's not the only system-raising concern.
00:13Tropical storm.
00:15Lorena is now just south of Cabo San Lucas,
00:18and forecasters say it could quickly become a hurricane.
00:21Lorena is expected to dump up to 15 inches of rain
00:24over Baja California Sur by September 5th.
00:27That means flash flooding, dangerous surf,
00:29and strong winds are all on the table.
00:32Mexico has already issued tropical storm watches
00:34for parts of the Baja Peninsula,
00:36and Lorena's track shows a possible landfall by September 5th
00:40before weakening over the weekend.
00:42Meanwhile, way out in the Atlantic,
00:44a tropical wave near the Cabo Verde Islands
00:47has a 70% chance of turning into the next named storm,
00:50Gabriel.
00:52For now, all eyes remain on Lorena
00:54as it intensifies off Mexico's coast.
