00:00So, if your flight is delayed or cancellation, you do have rights.
00:04Now, first thing is, if you decide to just give up,
00:06if the delay is going to be like a day long and it's going to ruin your trip,
00:10you can actually cancel and you are entitled to a full refund.
00:14Those are new rules that are consumer-friendly that are in place.
00:17However, if you take the option from the airline to get rebooked,
00:21you're not entitled to any kind of compensation.
00:24And here's the other thing.
00:25If there's weather, if it's an act of God, in quotes,
00:28the airlines have a lot of wiggle room to not compensate you.
00:32That said, the airlines have been fairly good when they have big meltdowns,
00:35like Delta's CrowdStrike, at compensating passengers, providing hotel rooms,
00:40providing alternate forms of transportation,
00:43and even giving you Uber or Lyft credits and food vouchers.
00:47So, they will do it.
00:49They're not going to usually generously just offer you that,
00:53but they will do it and it never hurts to ask for compensation.
