Ruben Loftus-Cheek talks about his struggles after returning to the England fold for the first time since 2019

00:00It's been a long time. I was a part of the 2018 squad and even the season after I was called up, but just missed on injuries all the time.

00:14And then of course I ruptured my Achilles at the end of that season and then it took me a year and a half to feel alright again.

00:24So a lot of that period was tough mentally for my head, you know, with the injury and trying to come back and feel good again.

00:37And after that, I'd say after about a year and a half, two years, I felt myself again.

00:42I played many positions under him and he values my physicality.

00:48And so, yeah, I'm used to working under him.

00:54And he's a very, very intelligent guy, very intelligent manager, knows the game so well.

01:01So hopefully we can do well as a collective.
