00:01Previously on Project Runway.
00:03Oh, my God.
00:05Designers, your clients for this challenge.
00:07The divas from WWE.
00:09Oh, no.
00:11You think this is too much, though?
00:13It's a little Wonder Woman.
00:15I just think it's...
00:16Hideous.
00:17Really ugly.
00:23Congratulations.
00:25Chris.
00:26Of course, I ended up winning the tackiest challenge.
00:30I feel like it looks a little unfinished to me.
00:32I don't like it as a costume.
00:35Ricky, that means you're out.
00:43The winner of Project Runway will receive a spread in Elle magazine,
00:46an opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com,
00:49an all-new 2008 Saturn Astra,
00:52and $100,000 to start their own line,
00:54furnished by Tresemme Professional Hair Care.
00:57This is Project Runway.
00:59Let's go.
01:00Hell yes, I'm the best.
01:01You're either in or you're out.
01:03I'm in, they're out.
01:05I would be caught dead in his clothes.
01:07Fashion is my life.
01:08Who will be the next big fashion designer?
01:10That's me.
01:11Bottom line, I'm the best.
01:13I will own the runway.
01:15For these 15 designers, Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:24There's five of us left.
01:29I was surprised that Ricky was the one sent home.
01:33I'm happy that I dodged that bullet.
01:36I so do not feel ready to go.
01:39I think a lot of the designers are kind of freaking out,
01:42but I am used to the moment that comes when you have to do it.
01:48It's been a dream for me to be a designer since probably the age of five.
01:53So this is rooted on a much deeper level.
01:57I came here to show in Fashion Week and I'm hopeful that I get there.
02:02So excited for a challenge.
02:04Great.
02:11Hello.
02:12Hi.
02:15Before we talk about your next challenge,
02:17let's bring out the winning and losing designers models.
02:27Models, this is a competition for you too.
02:31The model paired with a winning designer will get a fashion spread in our magazine.
02:36Chris, you were the winner of the last challenge,
02:38so you have the option of swapping models with a fellow designer.
02:43Your model was Marcia.
02:45If you decide to stay with her, Amanda will be out.
02:49If you decide to swap, I will bring out all the models for you to choose from.
02:54What do you want to do?
02:55I have to stay with Marcia.
02:58I'm sorry, Amanda.
02:59Okay.
03:00You can leave the runway.
03:02That means, Amanda, you're out.
03:07Bye, guys.
03:08Good luck.
03:09Bye, Amanda.
03:11Are you ready for your next challenge?
03:13Yes.
03:15Because it will decide which three of you will make it to Fashion Week,
03:18and two of you will be out.
03:21You're going on one last field trip.
03:28Tim is waiting for you on Fifth Avenue and 82nd Street.
03:32And I see you on the runway.
03:33Bye.
03:34Bye.
03:35Bye.
03:40I don't live here, so I'm like, what's on the Upper East Side?
03:43The other designers were like museums and fabulous stores.
03:47Can you guys be going to the lab?
03:48I'm so excited.
03:49We're all kind of speculating.
03:51Well, what's east of Madison Avenue that's worth going to visit?
03:56Wow-wee.
03:57Yay.
04:01We arrived in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
04:04I've never been to it, so it's quite exciting.
04:07Designers, welcome to the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
04:10one of the premier arts and cultural institutions in the world.
04:14Follow me inside, and I'll tell you about your next challenge, okay?
04:18Come on up.
04:23The first thing I noticed walking in, it's huge.
04:28It was like a great privilege to be part of the Final Five
04:32in the Metropolitan Museum of Art with no one else there.
04:37There's nothing more phenomenal and inspiring in this country.
04:49Designers, throughout time, art has served as a critical and essential inspiration for fashion.
04:55For your next challenge, you will choose a work of art
04:58to serve as the inspiration for a look of your choice.
05:03I'm extremely happy.
05:04This is every designer's dream.
05:06I love this.
05:07That's amazing.
05:08What more could any of us ask for?
05:10It's just about artwork.
05:13The Met contains 5,000 years of art,
05:15and it's one of the largest museums in the world,
05:18so we've narrowed the galleries from which you will choose your inspiration to three.
05:22The Greek and Roman Sculpture Courtyard, where we are now,
05:25the European Painting Wing, and the Temple of Dendur.
05:28You will have 45 minutes to seek your inspiration,
05:32and I have cameras for each of you to record the source of your inspiration.
05:36Your 45 minutes will begin now.
05:39Let's go, okay?
05:41The first room is the Roman and Greek Sculptures Gallery,
05:46and nothing could have been better for me.
05:48Let's face it, Rami is going to be choosing this section.
06:01There is no way he's not making something Grecian and Drake.
06:06There were so many things I was in love with,
06:08but the statue of Aphrodite was sort of like a soulmate situation for me.
06:13It was like instantly meeting my match.
06:15After that, we headed to the European Painting Gallery,
06:25and of course, for me, that was the most exciting part,
06:30just because I love European art.
06:34I'm really inspired by this beautiful Spanish military painting.
06:39There are so many amazing paintings in there, and there's actual clothing on people.
06:49There was no one there, and it was so cool.
06:56I probably could have touched a painting, but I didn't.
07:00Where to net?
07:03The Temple of Dendor is an Egyptian temple that was lifted from Egypt
07:09and put in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
07:12It's incredible.
07:14It's almost like you're looking at a movie set, but it's real.
07:18Look, Joan Rivers carved her initials in here when she was a little girl.
07:22That's fierce.
07:24Oops.
07:27We're very lucky, all of us.
07:29I know.
07:31I think it was more the experience of being in the room that was inspiring.
07:35It was almost spiritual.
07:37All right, everybody. Our time is up at the Met, but what an experience.
07:42It's great.
07:43Let's head back to Parsons, all right?
07:44Cool.
07:45I have 238 pictures.
07:46I want to just pick something that I like, focus on it, and get to work.
07:50It's pretty amazing.
07:52Hopefully there are no surprises.
07:56All right, designers.
07:58Choose one of the photographs of the works of art, okay?
08:01Okay.
08:03You have one hour to sketch, and then we're going to have half an hour at Mood,
08:07where you will have a budget of $300.
08:09You have two days for this challenge, and the styling and makeup will be critical elements
08:14in the evaluation of this challenge, all right?
08:17So keep that in mind as you're designing.
08:19I'll be back in an hour.
08:21Hi, Tim.
08:24What are you doing?
08:25I'm doing a men's outfit.
08:27I'm doing, like, a female version of it.
08:30I chose this fabulous Spanish military-inspired, almost Zorro, like, painting.
08:37I didn't want it to be costumey, necessarily.
08:39I wanted it to be more high-fashion, avant-garde.
08:42What one are you using?
08:44Peacock.
08:45Peacock?
08:47I was thinking of that one.
08:49I love it.
08:53I don't feel shameful about choosing Aphrodite.
08:57I connected with the Grecian draping because I know that that is something I'm extremely passionate about,
09:02and this is what I do.
09:03All right, designers, you ready to go shopping?
09:11My inspiration is a peacock.
09:14I found a beautiful purple, a teal, and a rusty red that I think are just going to be fantastic.
09:20I put down that boning somewhere.
09:21So where did...
09:22Oh!
09:24Oh, my God, I need so much stuff.
09:26I need, like, 10 yards of organza and white, and then I needed about 15 yards of cotton.
09:31Can I have whatever you can give me on that roll?
09:34I want to wow them.
09:35I don't want to be safe at all.
09:37Take care.
09:38Let's head back to Parsons.
09:39Thank you, guys.
09:44All right, designers.
09:46You have until midnight tonight.
09:48You have all day tomorrow.
09:50So make it work.
09:51I'll see you tomorrow.
09:52Bye.
09:53Bye, Tim.
09:59How are you doing?
10:00I'm fine.
10:01Yeah?
10:02Are you on the track down?
10:03Yeah.
10:04I think that this painting in particular, Master of the Argonauts with the armor,
10:07that they used to wear during the fight was inspiring.
10:11I'm trying to express a certain edgy side of myself.
10:15It's going to have a whole, like, corseted dress thing out of the oyster stuff.
10:19Mm-hmm.
10:20The colors are pretty.
10:22The painting that I chose as my inspiration is a portrait of an 18th century noblewoman,
10:29and I wanted to do a really super modern couture version of that idea.
10:34Honey.
10:35Are there any fabric left at Lude?
10:38No.
10:39We all have in the back of our heads that two people are going home.
10:42So I think that people are feeling the need to, like, over-design and add more pieces,
10:48and who has the biggest collar and the biggest sleeve is probably going to get the attention.
10:52That'll give it some poof.
10:53Yeah, it will.
10:54It's not always to me about who's the loudest.
10:57I'm not here to make noise.
10:58I'm here to make beautiful work.
11:00That's creepy.
11:01I know.
11:07Are you making a collection, honestly?
11:10Yeah.
11:11Oh, my God.
11:12Oh, my God.
11:13I'm making, like, 15 pieces.
11:14That's, like, retarded.
11:15Okay?
11:16I'm, like, making my pattern.
11:18Bitches, it's the last challenge.
11:19I have to do something.
11:21I sew fast.
11:22Get over it.
11:23Everyone else in that room should be sewing fast, too.
11:25If you're not, then that's your own problem.
11:28Jillian's been pressing through three hours.
11:30I'm making pleats, so stop worrying about me.
11:34I feel self-conscious enough as it is.
11:36Ew.
11:37Don't get bitchy.
11:39Because damn.
11:40Christian is monitoring what everybody's doing at all times,
11:43and he's always ahead of everybody, and he's really arrogant.
11:48Jillian, I'm just not saying anything around you anymore.
11:50I'm so over it.
11:51I'm over it, too.
11:53We should all stop.
11:56Coming up on Project Runway.
11:58Sweet Pig, your model's late.
12:00If my dress isn't finished, for sure I'll get eliminated.
12:11After you, my darling.
12:12Thanks, love.
12:14Look at her waiting for me today.
12:17Our challenge was choosing one piece of art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art
12:22to inspire fashion.
12:25Would you drop the neckline if you want me?
12:27It's going to be more of a cocktail.
12:28I think at this level of the competition,
12:30you have to do what you think is right.
12:33You're right.
12:34I'm lowering it.
12:36I was getting ready to quit my business before I came here
12:39because it takes a lot to do your own line,
12:42and I'm currently out of funds.
12:44So in a way, I need to win because it'll save my business.
12:53Hi, everybody.
12:54Hi.
12:55Hi.
12:56I'm sending in your models.
12:57Thank God.
12:58They're here for a fitting.
12:59Yay.
13:00Excellent.
13:01So you'll have about 30 minutes with them.
13:03All right?
13:04Have fun.
13:05Oh, my God.
13:06Where's Lee?
13:07Sweet Pig, your model's late.
13:09Crap.
13:10Is somebody kidding?
13:12Lee has an emergency.
13:14She's fine, but she can't be here right now.
13:17At all?
13:18I don't know.
13:19But she will be here.
13:20Okay.
13:21All right.
13:22Maybe she will come.
13:23All right. Let's hope.
13:24Lee had like a family emergency or something personal.
13:29Now what?
13:30I'm like, what's happening?
13:31Tim says she is coming, but I'm sort of freaked out.
13:36So this is our inspiration.
13:41So you have pants, blouse, jacket.
13:44I have a lot.
13:45Fun.
13:46Isn't it fun?
13:47Move forward a little bit.
13:48Mm-hmm.
13:49I feel good about the dress.
13:51It's not necessarily the loudest piece,
13:53but it certainly makes a strong statement.
13:56You're going high to tour again here, lady.
13:59There.
14:00Chris's dress was very costume-like and over the top.
14:05It was very similar to the dress that me and him already created.
14:08So it was a little weird.
14:10Oh, sick.
14:11Sick.
14:12Fabulous.
14:13Do you have a lot to do, Julian?
14:14Not that much.
14:15Not on the coat.
14:16Just now I have to move on to the dress.
14:18Oh, my God.
14:19What happened?
14:20See? I told you.
14:21The coat fits her perfectly, but the most difficult part is just the full execution.
14:27I'm not a fast mover.
14:29The whole dress needs to be done.
14:31I mean, there's still a lot for me to do.
14:34Oh, my girl's not here.
14:42Designers, may I ask you to gather round, please?
14:46I have a special guest I'd like to introduce.
14:53Hi.
14:55Hi.
14:56Oh, I know who that is.
14:58Hi.
14:59Welcome.
15:00I want to welcome Collier Strong, consulting makeup artist for L'Oreal Paris.
15:05Welcome to Parsons, the new school for design.
15:07Thanks for having me.
15:08Collier is here to consult with you about the overall makeup look for the L'Oreal Paris challenge.
15:13So, this is a great opportunity for you to think outside of your outfits.
15:18What we want to do is use makeup as an integral part of your artistic expression.
15:24Cool.
15:25So, we're going to begin with Chris and Marcia.
15:28Okay?
15:29Cool.
15:30Go ahead.
15:31This is Marcia.
15:32Marcia.
15:33We could take this pewter color and work it into the eye.
15:37I do think a beautiful compliment to her skin tone would be a bright pink.
15:42I love it.
15:43We could actually make her very androgynous.
15:46Like, make her brow very masculine.
15:48Yeah, I love a really strong brow.
15:50The point here is to really make her look warrior Joan of Arc, not overly feminine.
15:55That's so fun.
15:56So, what do you suggest?
15:58Grecian-y feminine, but there's still an edginess to it.
16:02Thank you so much.
16:03I'll see you tomorrow.
16:04I'll see you again.
16:05Bye.
16:06We'll see you.
16:10Are you done, Chris?
16:11Yeah.
16:12You're done with your work?
16:14Uh-huh.
16:15Why don't you take a nap?
16:16I was thinking of it.
16:17I just couldn't even get up.
16:19I knew that it wasn't going to take me that long to finish mine, so I wanted to lay down
16:25for a while.
16:28Love you, bye.
16:29Are you joking?
16:30It's the last challenge.
16:31You can't take a nap.
16:32I know I finished early, but you know what?
16:34I'm touching up, snipping threads.
16:37But whatever.
16:42All right, let's hope I got this right here.
16:51This is too much color, even for me.
16:53I think my design aesthetic has a very European classic effect.
17:00I graduated high school and basically moved to London for about three years.
17:03Oh yeah, yeah.
17:04I started working with Alexander McQueen, Vivian Westwood, and I definitely think that that
17:11helped me grow the most.
17:13I know I'm the youngest designer, but truthfully, I think I have the most cohesive ideas out of
17:20everyone.
17:21Everyone.
17:22Oh my God.
17:23Have it?
17:29Hi everybody.
17:30Hi.
17:31Hi Tim.
17:32Where's Chris?
17:33He's done.
17:34He's done and he needed to go to bed.
17:36No one's done.
17:37Well, you tell him, Tim.
17:38I'm going to go check on Chris.
17:39I'll be back.
17:40Okay.
17:41We'll be here.
17:43Chris.
17:44Yes?
17:45Why aren't you in the workroom?
17:46Because I'm finished.
17:47You're not finished.
17:48You can't be.
17:49Why can't I be?
17:50Is it wow-able?
17:54Yes, it is.
17:55Well, can you come in and show me?
17:59Sure.
18:00I want to believe.
18:02Okay.
18:03So, talk to me.
18:06This is fun.
18:08Well, I could really show you a little bit.
18:12He hit him suddenly.
18:14Thanks a lot.
18:16So, this is her.
18:18Chris, I don't think it's refined enough.
18:20I don't think there's enough here.
18:23Can you add to it?
18:24No, I wouldn't add a thing to this.
18:26All right, you're confident?
18:28It doesn't fit this, it fits her.
18:30All right, you own it.
18:33I do.
18:34I'm worried.
18:36Christian.
18:38Hi.
18:39Hi.
18:39What's up?
18:40I love the white shirt.
18:41I do too, it's fabulous.
18:43And the blouse looks so good on me.
18:46That's all that really matters.
18:47It really is.
18:48What's the whole hook here?
18:50It's almost as though this is like an obfuscation.
18:54I was going on the whole thing that my pieces
18:56can be worn individually.
18:58Yeah, but where else would you wear this?
19:01I think over for evening.
19:03I'm just saying, in terms of cohesion,
19:06does it really make sense?
19:08The last challenge, three people are going to Fashion Week.
19:12I know, ladies, don't you worry.
19:15OK, all right.
19:17Yeah.
19:18Hi, Tim.
19:19Hi, sweet pea.
19:21So talk to me.
19:22This whole peacock thing is what's inspired me.
19:24And this is basically what I consider the feathers.
19:28But they're not feathery.
19:30Also, I just wish that peacock were a little more apparent
19:34and exuberant in a way.
19:36And of course, it doesn't help that I'm seeing on the form,
19:38not on the model.
19:39Yeah.
19:40Where is that model?
19:42Yeah, I'm going to try and figure something out here.
19:44OK.
19:45Make it work.
19:48So how's Jillian?
19:50I'm doing well.
19:51I'm just cutting the lining for the jacket.
19:53And then this is the back.
19:54And then I still need to do these cutouts.
19:57And I still just need to do the skirt part of the dress.
20:01You know, it's getting late.
20:02So now I just need to finish.
20:04That's all I'm worried about, really.
20:06Do it.
20:06I will.
20:09Rami.
20:10Hello.
20:12This is stunning.
20:14I mean, it's what I do.
20:16Can I be really honest with you?
20:17Yeah, please.
20:18Nina doesn't want to say, I've seen this look from you before.
20:22Yes.
20:23But you guys presented me with this challenge,
20:24and I had to take the grease and draping.
20:27Just keep in mind, it needs to be fresh.
20:31Yes.
20:32I'm going to think about that.
20:33I'm trying to be true to myself.
20:35And it could be great.
20:36It could be criticized.
20:38But I feel like I'm ready to back my work up.
20:40All right, designers.
20:42Tomorrow's our last runway show.
20:44So use the rest of your time to make it work.
20:47I'll see you tomorrow.
20:48All right.
20:49Thanks.
20:49Good night.
20:50Bye.
20:54So I'm going to my model.
20:56I'm going to my model, because I'm out of standstill right now.
21:03We were just talking about you.
21:05Here she is.
21:05Oh.
21:07Hi, Lee.
21:09Come here.
21:10Are you all right?
21:11Lee came in at the end of the night tonight,
21:14and I'm glad she showed up.
21:16Mission accomplished.
21:17Let's try it on like this.
21:19Ooh.
21:20Next, obviously.
21:21Are these going to be pockets, or?
21:23The fake ones at this point, I think.
21:25I feel a little overwhelmed.
21:28The dress fits.
21:29Thank God.
21:30But I have a lot to do.
21:32All right.
21:33Bye, little darling.
21:35Bye.
21:36And I'm just, I don't think I'm going to finish.
21:38Come on.
21:39Really?
21:40You do whatever you have to do to make it look ready for the runway,
21:43and that's all there is to it.
21:45I'm really nervous about tomorrow's runway show.
21:49It's the last one.
21:50And if my dress isn't finished, for sure,
21:53I'll get eliminated.
21:54And that sucks.
21:55Coming up on Project Runway, I need it, and nothing works.
22:09It's our last runway show.
22:20I'm tired.
22:22Waking up, day of the runway.
22:24Oh, my God, I have to look amazing.
22:27So I made sure my hair was extra fierce.
22:32The weight of this day is very heavy.
22:34It's the end of this roller coaster ride.
22:39I think that nobody really, like, absolutely hated each other.
22:42Who didn't hate each other?
22:43I sure did.
22:45I mean, damn.
22:46Every five minutes, I was ready to cut somebody.
22:51All right, let's go.
22:53No time to make your bed.
22:55Let's go, ladies.
22:56Parson's our last day.
22:58Mmm.
23:02I'm going to work.
23:05The first thing I did this morning was run directly to my sewing machine because my dress
23:10is still in there from where I left off last night.
23:13Are we going to kick ass today or what, Romy?
23:16Yeah, I think so.
23:18I'm a little bit worried.
23:19I'm a little bit worried.
23:20The whole bottom of my dress hasn't even been finished yet, so that's not a small amount
23:25of work.
23:26This is what determines who's going to Fashion Week.
23:28I don't want to go back to working in a cubicle and contributing to someone else's vision,
23:33show.
23:34I hope that I make it to Fashion Week.
23:38Good morning, designers.
23:39Good morning.
23:40Good morning.
23:41It's our last day, so talk about make it work.
23:45Make it work.
23:46So you will have two hours to send your models to the Theresa May Hair Salon in the L'Oreal
23:50Paris Makeup Room.
23:51Remember, call your strongest way to be here.
23:54Remember to use the bluefly.com accessories wall, all right?
23:57Just blow the judges' socks off.
24:01Give them that electric jolt that sends Nina's shoes flying across that runway.
24:08Do it.
24:09All right, I'm sending in your models.
24:11Thanks, Tom.
24:12Come on in.
24:13Hey, Lee, I'm in here.
24:16I'm so excited.
24:20My coat's finished, but the dress isn't.
24:23So how are we doing?
24:24I'm just now putting a zipper in, and I got kind of a lot of work to do.
24:29Are you doing the real thing for me?
24:31I'm sending you confidence and peace.
24:34Send it here, honey.
24:36Oh, my God.
24:37It's great.
24:38Perfect.
24:39Good.
24:40Christian has a whole collection, pretty much.
24:43I don't know if I personally love this group of work that he's making.
24:47Just like a little bit marshmallowy.
24:50That looks so fierce.
24:52That's the thing.
24:53This fabric is just so moldable.
24:55It's like, there it goes.
24:56I was kind of at peace with the fact that if they hated my dress and they eliminated me,
25:02that I loved it, and that I was happy to show that as my final thing.
25:07You know, going to Bryant Park would be like winning the lottery.
25:11But I don't count on it, but I don't count it out either.
25:18Yeah, we want eyebrows for days.
25:21All about L'Oreal.
25:23Wow.
25:24It's so cool.
25:35Oh, beautiful.
25:36All right, we're ready to dress you.
25:39Why does the steam stop working at the last minute when I need it and nothing works?
25:44Okay, I'm putting it on you.
25:47When it comes down to crunch time, I'm like, again, cramming at the end.
25:52And I need to get this dress on my model.
25:54Stand really still, Lauren.
25:56Please.
25:58It needs to be the best possible.
26:00And it was just not sitting right and I could not see past it.
26:04I need to steam this really badly.
26:06Yeah.
26:07Oh, my God.
26:08Oh.
26:09I like it like that.
26:11But try not, try not to, yeah, try to do like more straight.
26:17I don't understand why Rami would make another one of these dresses.
26:21She keeps getting in trouble from the judges for another draped Grecian style dress.
26:28I'm so glad I finished.
26:29I love the lips.
26:30Wow, the dress looks out really cute.
26:34Cut those threads off the bottom.
26:36Oh, my God.
26:37Whoa, I didn't even see those.
26:38I really loved seeing Lee in my dress, I thought.
26:40It looked great on Earth.
26:42It all got done with five, ten minutes to spare.
26:45And I want to win.
26:47All right, designers.
26:49It's our last one-way show.
26:53Are you ready?
26:54That hem isn't a really big problem.
26:57If I don't make his fashion week, I would be incredibly let down.
27:01I really worked my ass off and I deserve it.
27:04But I don't know how this is going to go.
27:06All right.
27:07Here we go.
27:08Coming up on Project Runway.
27:11How predictable.
27:12I mean, come on.
27:13I expect more from you.
27:24Hi.
27:25Hi.
27:26Welcome to the runway.
27:27I want to congratulate each of you for making it this far.
27:32But only three will earn the right to show collections at Fashion Week.
27:37So two of you will be out.
27:40For this challenge, we ask you to choose a work of art to serve as the inspiration for a look of your choice.
27:47Okay.
27:48Let's meet the judges.
27:52First, we have top American designer, Michael Kors.
27:54Hey, guys.
27:55Hi.
27:56Hi, Michael.
27:57Next, we have Nina Garcia, fashion director of Elle magazine.
28:00Hi, everyone.
28:01Hi.
28:02Hi, Nina.
28:03Hi.
28:04Hi.
28:05Hi.
28:06Hi.
28:07Hi.
28:08Hello, Roi.
28:09We'll score your designs as they come down the runway.
28:12One of you will be named the winner.
28:14.
28:15And two of you will be out.
28:16.
28:17I'm going to make room for them.
28:21I
28:25Was just so excited because she looked kind of like some couture Cinderella. I didn't look really elegant and you know expensive
28:42The outfit was so hot I know it was really avant-garde and kind of over the top
28:47But for the runway for show it was perfect. It was fabulous. I loved every second of it
28:59I'm pretty confident about the way Sam looks the dress fits perfectly on her
29:04I'm passionate about draping, but it could go either way for me considering that the judges want to see a variety of things
29:10I
29:16Liked the design of the dress I feel like I'm a good designer good at merchandising. I understand what sells. I
29:25Thought it looked great on her
29:34I think I did a good job with mine
29:36There were definitely little issues here and there, but I don't see those anymore. I represented myself the way I wanted to
29:54We've scored your designs
29:58One of you will be named the winner
30:00And two of you will be out
30:03Let's bring out your models
30:06Okay, I would like to start with Christian well, I actually chose a spanish painting a lot of my work has been a play on masculine feminine
30:26I tried to create as many pieces that could be worn different ways
30:30What's going on under the bus actually you could completely remove this into the blouse
30:34I love it very much because I know
30:36I love it very much because I know how much love you put to when you create something like that
30:41It's the moment that you take off the jacket. I start to appreciate the details of the shirt. Thank you very much. Thank you
30:49You really think about the show and you have the ability to also think practically. I think it's super super super chic
30:59You're welcome
31:01Chris tell us about your design. My design is based on an 18th century
31:07Painting of a French noblewoman and I wanted to do a kind of modern couture version
31:13I think this is really maybe the most artistic for all of you. I
31:19I can see you so in the future your collection in Paris maybe the old couture
31:29That's that's what I love
31:31Well, certainly you understand drama, but I will say
31:35It's a little reminiscent of what we already saw from you with the shoulder piece
31:40I was thinking the same thing you kind of forget how beautiful the dress really is when you've seen it before it's kind of the way that I wanted to
31:49Reinterpret the big pewter colored bow on the front of her dress if you take that piece out
31:55It would have still been beautiful and I'm sure that you have other tricks up your sleeve
32:00It's not just this one and that's what I wanted to see
32:04Okay
32:07Jillian, my inspiration was the master of the Argonauts
32:11I felt like I could interpret in a way that was very modern. I loved your interpretation of this
32:18You keep me surprised
32:21And in a good way, okay
32:23The details is a fantastic especially in the back. I like very much
32:27I would be very happy to have you in my stuff. Well, that would be an honor. Thank you
32:32As soon as she opened the coat and it was gold inside. I was like whoa boom. I was like wow
32:39You know, you're giving a nod to the painting, but I don't think it at all looks like a costume
32:44I think the dress does great things for her body, you know, and that's what clothes are supposed to do
32:52Okay, sweepy I was immediately grabbed by this Dutch painting called peacocks
32:58It looks like a print to me when I look at it. I think it's a nice dress
33:03wearable
33:03Flattering, you know, but it's show
33:07You know, it's a show this dress is the one that you have in the showroom to sell
33:13Yeah, I agree completely with you. What is more fantasy than
33:19Peacock tale
33:21I think that you should do something more
33:24more special
33:27You do make a lot of sweet daytime dresses wearable dresses. I know you know how to make commercial clothes. I need to see the next thing
33:37And Robbie tell us about your design
33:40I found much beauty in the sculptures that pretty much resembled movement and flow and I picked one that had an ease about
33:49The drape in it because I am very passionate about draping
33:54It's too normal you are here because you have to show what you can do
33:58I just feel passionate about the subject and it was presented to me in this challenge
34:04sometimes an idea can be
34:06Interesting without having to be screaming out loud. I know you're talented. I know you have great taste and I expect more from you
34:14You know how to make a dress that many women would like to wear
34:21I would I like it. Thank you. It's a lovely dress, but how predictable that you picked
34:27Drapery from rome and greece. I mean come on. That's the first thing I thought we always know
34:34It's gonna be beautiful. It's gonna be wearable and it's always greece and drapery
34:38But why is it so negative? It's not negative every time I tell you the same thing. I want to see more
34:42I'm really curious to see if you can do more. I want to see you out of this box
34:48Okay
34:51We've heard what you had to say we're gonna have a little chat and then we'll call you back you can use the runway. Thank you
34:56So what did we think of today's show? I think that we saw some pretty wonderful looking clothes and some that were
35:16Not as extravagant and
35:18Imaginative as I would have liked to have seen. What did you guys think about Jillian's?
35:22The jacket was at night. Yeah, the back was beautiful. Yeah, it was nice. I think her clothes are impeccable
35:28I've been surprised by her design. She's ballsy. You know, she's all quiet, but her pieces are not quiet. She goes pow here it is
35:39All right, let's go to Christian
35:42He's good
35:44He understands how to make
35:47clothes that are emotional in a fashion show that can be taken apart and work in real life. He delivered. Yeah
35:55He delivered
36:00And then there is sweet pea. I don't have so much to say about
36:04About that dress certainly the plus with her clothes
36:08They're the kind of dresses and the kind of clothes that you know, they're flattering. They're wearable
36:13And it's more commercial vision that she has, which is fine
36:18Perfectly fine. That's a price for that, of course
36:20But that doesn't make for fashion
36:25Chris
36:25He made a wrong choice taking something that memorable and doing it twice
36:29But I will say that that looked like a couture dress
36:33My vote was the highest honestly because I saw art in this piece
36:41But yet again, I do think that he played it safe
36:44But I do have to say he has drama in his blood
36:48There is undeniably that factor
36:51He's a showman. He's a real showman. I mean our taste or not our taste
36:56He will put on a show totally
36:57Rami
37:02He technically is a very good designer
37:06Yes, but he doesn't want to take any risks
37:09Well, you don't get ahead if you don't take risks
37:12I like his work. I think it's sophisticated. It's well done
37:15I just think that I want him to show me something else that he can do
37:19I agree with Nina. He's a smart driven
37:23Designer who is passionate about fashion and those are all the things that you have to be
37:27I
37:29This is a really tough decision
37:31Do we know what we're doing here? Are we all good you think? Yeah, my mind's made up. Yeah, I agree
37:38Okay, let's bring them back out
37:40Designers it's been a long journey
37:53But only three of you will make it to fashion week at bryan park
37:57Let's start with the winner of this challenge

39:55But
39:58I mean I really believe what's supposed to happen will happen
40:02And I know I'm gonna be fine. I'm just a little sad
40:04I'm gonna be fine
40:10Rami
40:12Chris
40:13This was a difficult decision
40:15Rami
40:16Your work has been consistent
40:19But as this challenge showed
40:21It's been consistently safe
40:24We question if you can bring anything new to fashion week
40:30Chris
40:31We know you can bring drama to the runway
40:33Even if it's something that we've seen from you before
40:36Like tonight
40:38But this was your moment to show us something new
40:42We were disappointed
40:48Chris
40:51You're in
40:55Rami
40:57You're also in
40:59What?
41:03Rami
41:04And Chris
41:04We were deadlocked
41:06So we're going to give you both an opportunity
41:09To create collections for fashion week
41:14Now don't get too excited
41:16Because only one of you
41:19Will make it there
41:20When you return to New York for fashion week
41:23You will show us your three strongest looks
41:26From your collections
41:27We will judge these looks
41:30And determine which one of you
41:32Will move on to compete at fashion week
41:35And which one will be out
41:38We believe in both of you
41:40Which is the reason why we're giving you this opportunity
41:43Congratulations you can leave the runway
41:45Thank you
41:45Thank you
41:57We're both in
41:58But they will choose one of us after we do the collection
42:01Me and Chris still have to compete
42:04So I will certainly create a collection that is very strong
42:08Congratulations
42:08I'm glad that they are going to give me a chance
42:11I won't disappoint them
42:13I'm glad I'm not down
42:17Oh you guys congratulations

42:30I'm so happy I made it this far
42:31And I think it was well deserved
42:33Love you
42:33I love you too
42:34But um
42:36It was our last challenge before brian park

42:51Are any of you upset about anything you've heard others say about you
42:55Yes
