00:05travel lodge here in skegness the brand new travel lodge here in skegness
00:11amber's going to explain a little bit more about where we're staying yes so we have booked a family
00:18super room i believe we're the first one staying in this room so we're super excited i'm so excited
00:24to see it and so we'll let you know the price after we've stayed we have put breakfast which
00:29is 10.45 each and it's a pound extra for a child so we're really excited about about that
00:36um check-in is from 3pm you can check in early it's 15 pounds if you want to check in earlier
00:42and you can check out later and that's again 15 pounds if you want to bring an animal i think
00:48it's 20 pounds it does say pets i don't know if you can bring your cat or or hamster if you want to do
00:55that um it does have free wi-fi but you're only allowed 30 minutes so it's three pound fifty if
01:01you want to do that but i don't think we're going to do that i know so yeah there is also the parking
01:07which is two pound for 24 hours so do keep that in mind as well yes so yeah come and stay with us
01:15so making our way into the travel lodge the reception is not on the ground floor it's on the
01:21fifth floor so there is a lift as you go in
01:27there is also a snack machine as well so if you get a little bit
01:31hungry on the uh the middle of the night you've got a snack machine there look at that
01:39but i will skip the part where i go and see reception
01:43and i'll appear on the fourth floor where my room is so we're coming into the room got amber and dolly
01:52there hello first impressions it smells very very fresh i believe we are one of the first people to
02:02stay in this room yes this hotel only opened yesterday so we feel very privileged we do
02:10but generally it's looking nice and fresh you can see me in the mirror there here um
02:19it's got hair dryer there loads of plugs a nice lovely samsung tv
02:27um branded remote that i've just noticed says travel lodge on it
02:32got your light there you can bring your laptop and do some work here i got one of these little um pod
02:42machines so you can make yourself some nice fresh coffee in the morning got some hot chocolate there
02:48as well you've even got kit kats oh kit kats you have also got a mini fridge
03:01i've got a lot of coke zero in the castle i'll be filling that up later okay we've got an iron and an
03:19ironing board there and spare towels up there as well it has got some hangers as well there you go
03:25i'd like to check the kettle since it's brand new this should be perfect
03:33and it is look at that very good the beds are looking very very good i did put a little crease
03:42in it because i did sit down and was like no just wait till the video but i couldn't wait but amber do you
03:48want to do a bed test yes yeah they are really comfy aren't they and they're so big as well
03:58they are really big they are really big really big so yeah i'm looking forward to sleeping in that
04:04tonight yes luke can sleep there there are these little lamp things here so reading lamps on a night
04:12time i don't know which one it is that one there which is really good you've also got oh what's
04:18that oh that was that there you go look how good that is you can move they've got mood lighting as
04:24well look at that you can turn it down if you'd be able to pick it up on the camera
04:28you've got a little mood light in there and usb and usb type c as well so you've got both options
04:35there fast charging here's the bathroom here's me again got one of these i think they're called beauty
04:42mirrors
04:45looks very nice a very square looking toilet plenty of toilet roll and a nice big bath as well and a shower
04:56but one thing we did notice was the view now uh if you can see that already we got rather excited
05:08when we got given this room we've got a lovely view of the vintage film fair phantom chaser one of my
05:16favorites um maybe not amber's but yeah i've got big ben over there as well so do check out that video
05:25because we uh me and neil are went right up in the sky 80 meters high so definitely do check out that
05:31video we've got the boating lake down there and you can see the sea over there as well but what are we
05:37doing now amber so we're going to go check out the restaurant at this hotel um i don't know do you know
05:45what i don't they have got a menu here actually so we're going to go check it out we're going to take
05:50you guys it's on the top floor so they should have some amazing views up there and yeah so let's
05:55go take you along and go check it out
06:11so we have sat down um had a quick look through the menu nice simple menu i'll show you this one
06:19yeah that's your light bite you pick three light bites and then you've got your pizzas on there as
06:25well and these look interesting your crust dippers i don't know what they're all about
06:32can you set them separately i don't really know what they are i don't know um i'll try and find out
06:38right and then obviously you've got your main meals as well oh that's all there you go you've got burgers
06:46on there you've got curries on there you've got steak and ale pie which i'll be going for
06:54amber's going for sausage and mash
06:56yes and then the children's menu here
07:03which one are you going for you're going for the chicken skewers and rice aren't you
07:06yeah with nick of glory yep i think with your soup as well because you've gone for it says here a main
07:15a meal deal because you've gone for like you get a pudding so but i've kept oh no i've gone
07:21now i've gone for that oh sorry yeah uh steak and ale i don't i need to find out what the puddings are
07:28oh we'll have a look at the puddings dessert well we'll get these ordered then we'll look at the
07:33puddings after yes but it's nice to have a lovely meal you do i need to get amber on big bed
07:44right so amber's sausage and mash has come looks very nice my steak and
07:51hey was it a steak and ale pie there you go
07:53yes dolly's skewers there i'm going to enjoy it and then let you know what i think
08:03so it looks like we've all polished off our plates um what's your thought amber yeah really
08:10really nice um i just like i just like it so the menu is really simple you know what you're getting
08:17i really enjoyed that luke and dolly have got puddings coming or dessert whatever you want
08:23to call it and they've both gone for a nickerbocker glory so you better go ask for it i can't fit
08:31any more in so my nickerbocker glory has arrived um how big is that i wasn't expecting it to be that
08:41big that was amazing there's banana in there and all sorts it was very nice yes that came with like
08:49a meal deal so you got you got it was 16 pounds something 16 16 65 yeah
09:00yeah 16.65 on a meal deal with your main meal and a dessert that's massive though it is i'm going to
09:08enjoy it um i'll show you dolly's when it arrives so dolly's has arrived get excited dolly
09:18look a mini version of it right we'll enjoy this well i've already half enjoyed mine but um yeah
09:26right so after enjoying that lovely nickerbocker glory in that meal i thought we'd go out for a little walk
09:31around skegness i won't show you all this because we've done loads and loads of videos around skegness
09:38so do check all them out because we've been to fantasy island we've been on the mini port boats
09:43we've been bonds we've been everything everywhere aquarium so if you want to check out any of them
09:49videos the things to do around skegness or ingormales do definitely check out them videos but
09:55the sun's setting in the skies tell it to me say goodbye no i'm joking um big ben is looking amazing
10:03so make sure you can get down to skegness or have you already seen it have you already been on it do

10:17in skegness good morning just uh got up amber made me a lovely coffee it was very nice
10:24um grab the shower shower's good good night's sleep um we're gonna go and grab some breakfast now
10:32no i mean i'm a little bit nervous because we're we know we stay in premier inns we're like a premier
10:38in breakfast we've not had a travel lunch breakfast before um how much are the breakfast amber um ten pound
10:4645 and it's a pound a child okay so comparing that to premier in so if you stayed there you get two
10:54children free per paying adult so uh yeah let's go and check out this breakfast
11:03breakfast so this is the breakfast you got fruit there you've got teas and coffees you can make
11:13yourself some toast you got your cereal here you've got lovely croissants american pancakes
11:22this is your hot food so you've got bacon there a couple of sausage hash browns tomatoes mushrooms and your beans
11:35so i'm gonna go and make myself some of that food and uh go sit down
11:42so i'm halfway through my breakfast so far i'm really enjoying it i haven't actually
11:48eating the bacon here but uh it looks nice the beans are nice
11:57that's good um i've gone for a drink like i normally have a black coffee but i've gone for
12:03orange but i've actually got orange and apple in it oh yeah it's like weirdly nice no it was like a mix
12:13on it it's on the last so yeah i highly recommend you trying that uh it's unusual
12:22yeah so i'm gonna come in and join this breakfast and uh see in a few minutes
12:26so do you know what we've had a really really good time here at the travel lodge here in skegness
12:34um with the breakfast i really did enjoy it the only downside i couldn't get a coffee uh the machine
12:42weren't working um also the barista machines wasn't on as well um my only kind of thing is maybe in the
12:50future maybe add if well if anyone does watch from um travel lodge have two of them machines because
12:58it makes it a lot easier if one goes down you've got another one on yeah um have you got anything to
13:03say amber no i have thoroughly enjoyed it probably the location is really nice um it's right on like
13:11the seafront and it's got really nice views obviously we've opted for a super room so i'm not too
13:19sure the other rooms how their views differ from that but where we were located was really nice
13:27and i've really enjoyed it all the staff have been really attentive really friendly
13:34and i really enjoy the breakfast i do well we are enjoying always enjoy the breakfasts don't we so
13:41yeah yeah um should we tell them about the price yeah go on then yeah so we have paid for our
13:49stay for the super family room it was 118 pound for one night now i did have to pay because when i
13:58booked it i booked the wrong date did actually make me pay 10 pound charge to change the date i'm not
14:05too sure why but we didn't need to change the date so i had to pay 10 pounds so overall we paid 128
14:11so we will put the invoice in now i do know their prices have changed significantly since we we've
14:19booked um and i know we've put a post on facebook which has received a lot of um negative negative
14:29comments which we weren't comment on i know people have their opinions on this hotel but we've enjoyed our
14:36stay and i just want to put it out there that we do we do come to skegness and we do support a lot of
14:43local people in the area and it's just easier for us and for dolly to stay um at travel lodge so yeah yeah
14:53also um apparently there's a holiday in partly but it meant to be getting built at some point so let me know
15:00whether you think that's a good thing or a bad thing um it's nice to get other people's opinions
15:04really on what's happening in skegness um but keeping nice and positive if you have enjoyed watching
