MARINE BIOLOGIST SAVES BABY SEA TURTLE TRAPPED IN PLASTIC
WITH VID
By Jaiansh Sharma
A routine morning boat trip turned into a life-saving mission when marine biologist Marcos Hado rescued a baby sea turtle tangled in a discarded mesh bag off the coast of Batroun, Lebanon.
Marcos, a 50-year-old consultant in marine biology and freediving instructor from Lebanon, spotted the floating clump of plastic about 12 miles from shore.
As he approached, he noticed movement and discovered a tiny turtle, no bigger than his palm, struggling to free itself.
In the clip, Marcos carefully lifts the mesh aboard his boat and uses a knife to cut away the plastic wrapped around the turtle’s fragile flippers.
After checking for injuries and even removing barnacles that could have slowed the juvenile down, he gently released it back into the sea.
With a quick kick of its flippers, the baby turtle swam off into the deep, a powerful reminder of the dangers plastic pollution poses to marine life.

Another added: “Well done!!! Brilliant work you wonderful people.”
