00:00A man was arrested after crashing an SUV through the gates of the Russian consulate in Sydney on Monday.

00:08Police were called to the consulate in the suburb of Ulara at 8 a.m. after reports of an unauthorized vehicle.

00:15When officers approached, the driver suddenly accelerated the Toyota Kluger, crashing through the main gates.

00:23Two police officers sustained minor injuries in the incident and were treated by paramedics.

00:28No one else was hurt.

00:31The vehicle came to a stop on the consulate's lawn.

00:35A 39-year-old man has been arrested.

00:38Authorities have not released any information on a possible motive or potential charges.

00:45The Russian embassy has not yet responded to requests for comment.
