Taylor Townsend a vécu un scénario terrible à l'US Open dimanche soir.

00:00I'm exactly where I need to be.
00:06I said it in D.C.
00:09And, you know, I was kind of inching there.
00:12But I'm exactly where I need to be.
00:17That's it.
00:18I'm playing the tennis that I need to play to be inside the top 20, top 10, to win a Grand Slam.
00:23She's a two-time Grand Slam champion.
00:26I've beaten a Grand Slam champion this tournament.
00:30So I have everything that I need.
00:32And, you know, it's just about now just keep getting the reps and keep putting myself in these types of positions.
00:37And this hurts.
00:38But it's part of competition.
00:40It's part of sports.
00:41But I'm right where I need to be.
00:43Yeah, I think so.
00:44I think so just because it was like, you know, I was so close.
00:47And, you know, just it's literally a couple like a point here and there, you know, quite literally that made the difference.
00:55So, you know, it's it's things.
00:57But, you know, I'm proud of myself.
01:01You know, I don't think that I've ever put on a performance like this.
01:04And even when I had gone deep in some tournaments or played well, it's always was like, oh, OK, she's just on a run.
01:10And and I think that, you know, more than anything, I gained the respect of, you know, everyone in the tennis world, you know, and put a lot of my competitors on notice that the things that they were kind of like, oh, we think that she's this type of player.
01:25But I think I said it the other day, I really eliminated the but and gained quite a lot of respect in the tennis world, both from men and women.
01:33So that's great.
01:35But I'm exactly where I need to be.
01:37And, yeah, I mean, it feels good.
01:38I told AJ, I was like, wow, you stayed there the whole time.
01:41It was over three hours and he sat there.
01:45And when I was talking to my coach, when she was on the bathroom break, he was like, if you need anything, I got you.
01:50Just ask me.
01:52I'm like, OK.
01:55So, you know, it's nice to be able to have that.
01:58And, you know, I was in the cool down area and he was like, hey, mom, let's work out together.
02:05And I'm like, sir, I just played three hours.
02:08I don't want to work out.
02:09He's like, let's do some squats.
02:10I'm like, I'm good.
02:12So, you know, that's the kid thing where it's just like, you know, they have no idea.
02:16And I actually said it because I wanted to know what he was going to say.
02:19I was like, yeah, he's like, good job, mom.
02:21I was like, thanks.
02:22I was like, AJ, I lost.
02:23He was like, it's OK.
02:25And I was like, that's the attitude.
02:28So I'm trying to embody that.
