00:00Basketball excites me, playing basketball excites me, winning basketball excites me, and just traveling.
00:06So getting paid to travel to beautiful countries and to get to play a game, basketball, is a dream, and I'm living a dream every day.
00:16And you mentioned you're living a dream. It's more than basketball for yourself. You do a lot of stuff outside of basketball.
00:22Tell me some of your passions outside of basketball.
00:26My family is a big passion of mine.
00:30Investing is a big passion of mine.
00:34Music is a big passion of mine.
00:38Movies are a big passion of mine. I have a lot of passions.
00:42You mentioned your family. Do you hope that you can bring them down?
00:46It's not a hope. They're coming. They're definitely coming.
00:48My fiancé, Giselle, and my daughters, Genevieve and Everly.
00:54My mother might come.
00:56Fantastic. So they're going to be here, what, the whole season?
01:01Probably not the whole season, but they'll definitely be here.
01:05Fantastic. And look, you've obviously, you know the Hawks are a championship winning team.
01:10Apart from that, you know a bit of JT. Apart from that, what else do you know?
01:13I think Jonah Bolton, you played against him in Puerto Rico. Is that right?
01:16Yeah. I mean, truthfully, I didn't know a lot. I didn't know a lot at all.
01:22I'm that type of person. I've always been a sporadic type person and a person who takes chances.
01:27And I believe chances are 50-50, but I've always been a glass-half-full type person.
01:35So I always assume that my 50% chance is the good chance.
01:39And on the court, obviously, your leadership, you know, your athleticism, I think you and Jonah are probably the two biggest guys in the league in terms of wingspan.
01:47Does that excite you, what you can bring to the league?
01:50Yeah, definitely. Absolutely. I'm excited about the game starting up. I'm excited about the league.
01:55I'm excited about traveling with my teammates and just growing that camaraderie and traveling all across Australia.
02:01It's another opportunity for me to conquer a country and visit and see the fans and get to experience basketball in another country.
02:13My mother played overseas in multiple countries. I used to travel with her when I was a kid.
02:18My father played overseas in multiple countries. And I guess they were jealous, not jealous, but envious of me being able to be in the NBA for 16 years.
02:28But I was at the same time envious to them being able to travel across the world and play basketball.
02:33So that's one thing I've heard a lot is that the NBL is the next, is the second NBA, is the closest thing you can get to it out of these leagues besides EuroLeague.
02:44And so I'm excited.
02:46You obviously just met some of your teammates now. What's, they're obviously chasing back to back. Is that, is that, is that achievable?
02:55I mean, they won last year. So to say the team last year can't win it again is, is blasphemous.
03:05And then adding me to the, to the mix is, makes it even better. So it absolutely is achievable.
03:13And what, what, what, what, what, what, what do you want to get out of this, this, this season personally and team-wise?
03:18What do you want to, when you, you know, when you go back home and say, you know, I was happy with what I contributed.
03:23Uh, winning, uh, that winning aspect, bringing what I bring on the court and doing it at the highest level.
03:28And, uh, just exploring Australia and getting to experience, uh, the Australian culture.
03:34And you mentioned obviously kangaroos and koalas.
03:36Absolutely, absolutely.
03:38Um, apart from that, what, what else, what are some of the things you want to see?
03:41I'm trying to avoid the, what's the name of them spiders, the big old spiders y'all got?
03:46Red, red, black?
03:47I'm trying to, I'm trying to avoid those.
03:48Uh, but yeah, I just want to see, you know, I just want to see the Australian things, quote unquote.
03:54Now, in terms of, uh, your on-court leadership, is that, is that the most important thing you think that you bring to this, you know, to any team that you join?
04:05Uh, yeah, absolutely.
04:06I believe I bring an energy.
04:08I bring a belief.
04:10Um, I bring an expectation when I step on the court with guys, uh, off the court, practice, pregame.
04:19It's just the energy that I bring that I don't think anybody else brings in the NBA or in the NBA or the BSN, wherever I've ever played.
04:27Um, that's one thing I bring, so yeah.
04:29I'm excited that you guys are excited, and I'm just as excited as you guys are.
04:34And, uh, expect a, a, a winning season and a great performance for myself.
