00:00For decades, WWE kept up the idea of kayfabe, that everything you see is authentic.
00:07However, in recent years, they've let the curtain slip to acknowledge that sports entertainment is a work of fiction.
00:14We're going to show you how the story unfolded.
00:17But what happens when the lines become blurred and the intense in-ring action actually does turn real?
00:24Harry Satter took one maneuver from Mike Bell and that was all it took to set him off.
00:28Welcome to Miz Mojo.
00:30And today, we're counting down 10 terrifying times pro wrestlers lost their cool and didn't pull their punches.
00:38Hey, you gotta stop this s***, man.
00:41Oh, oh.
00:43Number 10. Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax.
00:47In the wrestling world, a match that goes violently off script is called a shoot.
00:52And boy, did one take place during a 2021 Raw match between Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax.
00:59Nia's gonna mow the queen.
01:01It is not pretty.
01:02These are two ladies who absolutely cannot stand each other.
01:05Because wrestling is such a high-risk activity, respect and cooperation are required by both participants to ensure safety.
01:13Those ingredients were totally missing when these two titans, who were already notorious for being hard to work with, went head-to-head.
01:22Handful of hair.
01:23Oh my.
01:25Late disrespect by the queen.
01:27It's unclear if tempers flared before they stepped into the ring, but early parts of the match were noticeably stiff, meaning the women struck each other with excessive force.
01:36Tension continued to build as the two began sandbagging, or failing to properly sell the other's moves to make them seem weak.
01:58Microphones around the ring picked up several verbal disagreements, which actually sounded like the two throwing threats around.
02:05We've got an adrenaline dumped here.
02:07Just, oh, look at this.
02:09This is getting ugly.
02:12One, two.
02:14The cringe-inducing bout came to an end when Jax dropped her on her back with devastating power and pinned the champion.
02:21Cover!
02:23Oh my god!
02:25Number 9.
02:26Rajah Jackson vs. Psycho Stew.
02:29You're leaving, man.
02:30We're walking away, bro.
02:31Let's not tell you shit.
02:31Let's go.
02:32Come on, Rajah.
02:33Let's go.
02:33Let's go, Rajah.
02:34Let's go.
02:35This vicious attack was so shocking, it brought an indie wrestling federation to nationwide headlines.
02:42Developing tonight an attack inside an LA wrestling ring.
02:45In August 2025, Knox Pro Wrestling Academy put on a local event where MMA legend Rampage Jackson's
02:53son, Rajah, was sent to intervene in a match featuring wrestler Psycho Stew.
02:58The two established the feud in a backstage moment when Stew smashed a beer can over Rajah's head.
03:04I think that's a little...
03:05I think that's a little...
03:05Oh!
03:07Despite this being a work, Rajah seemed agitated.
03:10So Stew stepped in to offer an apology and ensure things could still run smoothly.
03:16I apologize.
03:17I appreciate it.
03:18I didn't know.
03:19I just thought you were a little...
03:20The entire night's events were recorded on live stream as Rajah jumped in the ring and slammed
03:26Stew with such force that he knocked him unconscious.
03:29Rajah then laid into the fallen wrestler with a barrage of punches so violent that Stew had
03:34to be hospitalized.
03:36The story gets even stranger because Rajah then stated that he was told to really hit Stew by
03:42higher ups.
03:42I'm gonna stand up for my f***ing self because I'm tired of everybody f***ing playing with
03:46me, bro!
03:47The promotion denies these allegations, with many calling for Rajah to be arrested.
03:53He needs mental help, but he needs to go to jail as well.
03:55I think he would've killed him.
03:56If you didn't stop it, right?
03:57I promise you he would've killed him.
03:59Number 8.
04:00Jake the Snake Roberts vs. Macho Man Randy Savage.
04:04These two legends had an absolutely epic feud in the 90s, which saw one of the most bizarre
04:10shoots to ever take place, considering it wasn't the wrestlers, but a reptile that inflicted
04:15too much damage.
04:16It's the most dangerous thing that I think's ever been done in WWE ring.
04:21Roberts, who used a snake named Lucifer to taunt his opponents, came up with the idea
04:26to have the serpent bite Savage during a heated segment.
04:29You are nothing but a gutless, yellow, stinking coward.
04:35Roberts actually agreed, but things quickly went off the rails when Lucifer refused to let
04:40go.
04:41In fact, the snake began to sink its fangs deeper and gnaw at Savage, while Roberts desperately
04:46tried to pry it off.
04:47This is not supposed to happen!
04:49Since the moment was pre-taped, the televised version was edited down.
04:54However, the live audience was subjected to several minutes of excruciating torture.
04:58Ah!
04:59In these ceremonies we'll have gotten up a lot earlier!
05:02Something's going wrong here!
05:04Multiple wrestlers had to run down to the ring to help detach the cobra, and Savage suffered
05:09a severe reaction to the bite.
05:12Although Lucifer had been de-venomized, Savage still developed a high fever, and required a
05:17brief hospitalization to treat his ballooning arm.
05:21You don't play with the snake without getting bit.
05:24Number 7.
05:25Chris Jericho vs. Shane McMahon
05:27Shane O'Mac, the son of Vince McMahon and one of WWE's all-time greatest Nepo Babies,
05:33was never a full-time wrestler.
05:35In fact, he's wavered heavily over how involved he should be with the company.
05:39Though when he's committed, he's committed.
05:42Take the infamous dive off the cell at WrestleMania.
05:44The overzealous wrestler got a bit too aggressive with Chris Jericho during a 2016 Survivor Series
05:56match.
05:57Although not out of anger, Shane landed a few punches to Jericho's face with far more force
06:02than required.
06:03This sent Jericho into a bit of rage outside the ring.
06:07In order to put the part-timer in check, he delivered a firm boot to the chest that sent
06:12Shane flying.
06:12But this instance of Jericho giving Shane his receipts was far from over.
06:17I jumped up and gave him like a Jean-Claude Van Damme double kick.
06:23Boom, he goes down.
06:24With Shane finally laid out, Jericho made a few audible calls, signaling that he was done
06:30taking stiff shots and Shane needed to show more restraint.
06:34And I'm looking at him and he can tell he's dazed a bit.
06:36He's like, are you okay?
06:38I'm like, calm the f*** down.
06:40Number 6, Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Pewter.
06:45During a 2004 episode of SmackDown, Tough Enough competitor Daniel Pewter was a bit over-eager
06:51to show off his wrestling abilities against Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.
06:56After a quick squash match where Angle accidentally broke his opponent, Chris Nevroski's ribs, the
07:02adrenaline-fueled hothead challenged the group of hopefuls to step into the ring with him.
07:07Who wants to get in the ring?
07:08When Pewter actually accepted, the bell rang and the unplanned match was underway.
07:14In a live call, the referee instructed the men to have a freestyle match.
07:18It was supposed to be by pinfall.
07:20So there wasn't supposed to be submission.
07:23It was supposed to just be take the person down, pin them, one, two, three, and you win.
07:28But when Pewter put Angle in a Kimura lock that threatened to break his arm, the ref had
07:34to quickly cut the segment short by counting to three despite Pewter's shoulder being up.
07:39I went in there, had some fun, caught him, could have snapped his arm, but the challenge
07:43was as I got stopped, they said I was on my back.
07:45The amateur attempted to shake the Hall of Famer's hand, but Angle wasn't having it.
07:49Later at the Royal Rumble, Chris Benoit, Hardcore Holly, and Eddie Guerrero gave Pewter a pretty
08:02legitimate beatdown to teach him a lesson, and he was released from the company soon after.
08:07You got a lot to learn, kid.
08:09During a match at Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide's Triple Mania, Sexy Star began to shoot on
08:22Rosemary for reasons that are still unknown.
08:25During the finish, she applied too much torque on an armbar submission, refusing to let go
08:30even after Rosemary tapped out.
08:32You let her know, it's over, let go, let go, it's over, you're the winner.
08:37Wait, she's refusing to let go.
08:38This hyperextension actually popped Rosemary's arm out of place, resulting in a minor injury.
08:44In the aftermath, Sexy Star broke her silence to declare that this was all a work, but Rosemary
08:50took to Twitter, insisting that Sexy Star was lying, went off script, and should never
08:55step foot in the locker room again.
08:57Ultimately, Rosemary got her wish.
09:00Sexy Star was stripped of her title and hasn't appeared at the Federation since.
09:04Numerous promoters also spoke out to ensure that she would be blacklisted from other
09:08organizations.
09:10Number 4.
09:11Perry Saturn vs. Mike Bell
09:13In the early 2000s, Perry Saturn joined WWF as a formidable heel.
09:19However, one controversial match against a local wrestler completely derailed his career.
09:24On a taping of WWF Metal, Saturn was booked in a squash match against jobber Mike Bell.
09:30You know, a young man like Mike Bell with an opportunity to prove himself, if he can hang
09:35with the likes of a Perry Saturn.
09:37But Saturn is eating this young man alive, having him for lunch here on Metal.
09:41Oh!
09:42A botched arm drag caused Saturn to land awkwardly, after which he legitimately attacked Bell out
09:48of anger.
09:49You can eat!
09:49Oh my goodness!
09:51Because Saturn viewed Bell's poorly executed move as a lack of respect, he was intent on
09:56dishing out the same dose of pain by tossing the unknown out of the ring onto his neck.
10:01Rather than pinning Bell, Saturn continued to deliver receipt after receipt until the match
10:06was over.
10:07The three-handled, moss-covered family, Grenanza!
10:11WWF executives were not pleased with Saturn's flare-up.
10:14And then I walked in, right there was Vincent, he goes, if you've got a problem, take care
10:17of it back here.
10:18You can't take care of it out there in front of everybody.
10:19And I go, no, you're right, I'm sorry.
10:21In retaliation, he received an immediate character change.
10:25He was now saddled with a dopey gimmick that saw him in love with a mop named Moppy.
10:30You have given this stupid mop more attention than you've given to me.
10:34Saturn was no longer seen as a legitimate threat in the division, and would never reach those
10:39pre-incident heights again.
10:42Number 3.
10:43JBL vs. The Blue Meanie
10:44At the 2005 ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view, a major brawl erupted in the ring featuring nearly
10:56the entire roster.
10:58Amidst the action was the Blue Meanie, who'd recently taken to the internet to voice how
11:03top guy JBL was a bit of a bully.
11:05Unfortunately for him, JBL was in the ring too, and he was out for revenge.
11:10I saw him as doing things that could have been perceived as being a bully, and I voiced
11:17that.
11:18So when it came to the One Night Stand, he took exception to it, and we had an incident
11:23in the ring where we threw some live rounds at each other.
11:26During the Rumble, JBL can be seen laying into Blue Meanie, pulling his shirt over his face
11:32and landing shots that Meanie couldn't see coming.
11:35The controversial moment left Meanie bloodied, but he'd get the last laugh in an upcoming
11:40edition of SmackDown.
11:42During a match against JBL, his buddy Stevie Richards delivered an incredibly stiff chair
11:47shot that split JBL open and gave the Brute a concussion.
11:51Okay, you know, the one that said, yeah, you got revenge, and you got him, and you stood
11:55up for Meanie.
11:56No.
11:57Every single day that this comes up, you know, I feel bad about it.
12:01Number two, Yushiko vs. Act Yasukawa.
12:05Amongst the most grisly real-life brawls, this 2015 stardom match completely upended a burgeoning
12:11career.
12:12The all-women's Japanese wrestling federation had been dominated by Yushiko for years, but
12:18up-and-comer Act Yasukawa, who was totally over with the fans, threatened to upend that
12:23reign.
12:24The younger, fitter, and now more popular Yasukawa sparked jealousy within Yushiko, who
12:30was not prepared to give her opponent an easy fight.
12:33Yushiko immediately asserted her power with a flurry of closed-fist attacks.
12:38With the challenger visibly swollen and leaking blood, the referee attempted to war.
12:42warned the veteran that she needed to go easier.
12:44Yushiko ignored these pleas, and continued to inflict ghastly amounts of damage.
12:56The injuries were so severe that Yasukawa had to completely retire from wrestling, and
13:02has only made a few very small appearances since.
13:05Company-wide repercussions rolled out as a result of the devastating match, including
13:09the release of Yushiko.

13:34When these two former sumo wrestlers collided at 1991's WrestleFest, it was more than just
13:40the integrity of the ring that had been shaken.
13:51Kitau was known for his bad attitude, having been fired from multiple organizations for
13:56misconduct, and his bout against Earthquake was no different.
14:00Aggravated by a series of holds, Earthquake performed, Kitau lashed out by throwing a
14:05table at his opponent.
14:12Amidst this temper tantrum, fans began to turn on the bad boy wrestler, who delivered a stiff
14:17slap and went for a dangerous eye gouge.
14:20A stare down ensued, and when the referee attempted to intervene, Kitau legitimately kicked him across
14:26the ring.
14:27This resulted in a disqualification, but Kitau still wasn't finished.
14:34In one of the most shocking outbursts, Kitau grabbed a mic and shouted to the crowd,
14:39quote,
14:40This was a major faux pas, and a number of infuriated WWF wrestlers were prepared to jump
14:55Kitau when he came back around the curtain.
14:57He was fired from the promotion, and would only make a few small appearances after the
15:02incident.
15:03Which of these moments do you remember seeing play out live?
15:06Did you realize things had taken a turn for the worse?
