00:00I saw a baby in the field, and then I realized that the mom had the baby.
00:05She wasn't due for almost a month.
00:06We could tell that the baby had not eaten yet, trying to get her to nurse,
00:10and every time we brought her near mom, mom would kick her feet at her.
00:16She was all terribly underweight and abused before we got her.
00:20We tried to do everything we could, and within a few hours we knew she had to eat or she wasn't going to make it.
00:26So the vet said, if I didn't take her home, we would have to euthanize her.
00:30We just decided to take it day by day.
00:32The first few days she wasn't very mobile.
00:35I would sleep on the couch, she'd sleep on the floor next to me, and bottles every 30 minutes,
00:39so we just kept the bottles going.
00:41That was a long week.
00:43Three to four days in, we saw a definite change where she would get up on her own.
00:47It wasn't us trying to get her up.
00:50And then she would start to run, and we were like, where did this come from?
00:54What you doing, Addie?
00:55Our house is definitely not made for a horse.
00:58She is into everything.
01:00Did you figure out how to open it?
01:03Every noise I hear, I jump off to see what she's destroying.
01:08Addie helping with laundry.
01:09She really likes attention, and she wants to be touching you.
01:12Usually she has her head against my leg or something.
01:15She definitely sees myself as mom.
01:18We have two adopted dogs at the house.
01:23Her and Marlon, they run together, they play together.
01:25They're usually laying around together.
01:28It's other horses that she has trouble with.
01:31We live 45 minutes from the farm.
01:33We try to get her out here about three hours a day to run around.
01:36I like her hair.
01:40Whoa.
01:40We always have to roll when we get to the farm.
01:43Hey, you ready to go play in the pasture?
01:44Is that a yes?
01:48There's a hierarchy with any herd, and she is definitely the low person on the hierarchy.
01:52But she's learning to be with them more and more, and she's getting a little more bold,
01:56which is a good thing.
01:57What you doing, Addie?
02:00To gain the strength and the confidence that she has, it's amazing to see the difference
02:05from day one to now.
02:07Hey, cutie.
02:08You never know that she wasn't thriving in the beginning.
