00:00A lawyer for a contractor with a huge deal on flood control with a DPWH is set to spill more beans on the shameless shenanigans perpetrated by an evil collusion designed to fleece the government with shoddy work or even phantom projects.
00:16And as our Luisa Erispe reports, the DOJ only needs an affidavit or missive from this potential whistleblower before his debut in the public domain.
00:25A potential whistleblower has approached the Department of Justice regarding the investigation on the alleged anomalies behind a number of flood control projects of the government.
00:39According to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulia, the whistleblower is an attorney of one of the companies with the largest contracts with the government on flood control.
00:49And I have been approached by a lawyer representing a potential whistleblower and they have told me he's given me an idea of what happened in one of the projects in Central Luzon in projects worth 5 billion, ghost projects.
01:11The whistleblower has information regarding the alleged ghost project in Central Luzon amounting to 5 billion pesos.
01:19Likewise, this person also has key and damaging information on how the modus operandi of the contractors is carried out.
01:28Yung modus operandi, yung katiang pera, lahat ng alam nila tapos sa kontrata, tsaka kung paano sumambulat, yung mga irregularity.
01:37The DOJ will ask for a letter or affidavit from this potential whistleblower swearing to testify and expose the truth behind the projects.
01:47Well, a letter first that they signifying their intention to help the government in its fight against corruption and that they are willing to divulge information and that they just want the assurance of government that they will be protected.
02:04Aside from the attorney, the DOJ is ready to accept more whistleblowers and witnesses to testify as resource persons.
02:12For protection, the government may offer inclusion or admission into the Witness Protection Program or WPP.
02:20We can accommodate whistleblowers. Since we have a witness protection program, they can actually go to the DOJ for this.
