00:39to be on your feet to usher in the procession.
00:45May we all be on our feet, please?
00:52Now filing in...
00:54Wait, wait, it's never started.
00:57Okay, my name is Eddie Ngeras.
00:59I'm officially known as M. Davis.
01:02I'm a blogger, website designer, and a freelancer.
01:10I'm one of the graduating students of the National Open University of Nigeria today, being the
01:1512th application ceremony of the school.
01:20I actually studied political science in this great university.
01:25And I must say that it's a long journey to have come this path because I combined both work
01:34and lecture.
01:35So I own my own business, so I have to combine my clients' jobs and studying at the same time.
01:44So it hasn't been that easy.
01:46But I'm so glad that all that stress is off now.
01:52And that I'm over here in National Open University.
01:57I've graduated and all the stress is all over.
02:00So I wish myself the best and that I'm part of this great and prestigious university.
02:07That is closely followed by the Alumni Relations Officer.
02:17Then we have the Alumni Association National Executive Committee.
02:30Please, we expect graduates to be standing and remain standing, please.
02:38No milling around.
02:39No milling around.
02:40No milling around.
02:43My name is Ambrose Bernard Gowong, and I shall be your guide as we proceed with activities
02:51here at the Convocation Arena.
02:54May I remind you also that the position, the Vice Chancellor's position, will file into
03:01the arena at exactly 10 o'clock, signaling the commencement of business here.
03:09And expect the alumni almost taking their seats.
03:14Now it's a congregation led by the Director of Human Resources, National Open University
03:24of Nigeria.
03:25Now the constitution of that congregation, it leads members of the congregation who are
03:32not members of the Senate and Council.
03:37on the
03:49of the Senate.
03:50I have the privilege, I hereby declare that this Convocation will very constitute a
04:20certificate for the award of bachelor's degrees, postgraduate diplomas, masters, and other

04:46The commencement of activities to commemorate the resuscitation of this university.
04:53The fact that this event is simultaneously holding at school centers in the state capitals
05:00of other countries is a testimony that the university is indeed a class of its own.
05:08It also underscores the significant...
05:15...of increased over the last year's number due to increased enrollment at this level.
05:23This is a testimony to the application of a delivery mode to all categories of studentship and learning.
05:33This is also likely due to positive impact.

17:08Hello! My name is Andy. My real name is Eddie Endurance. Today happens to be the 12th Convocation
17:31I am one of the graduating students. I actually enrolled in this school in 2015. I also have
17:43graduated in 2019 due to some circumstances. All in all, I'm able to graduate today. I
17:55graduated in 2023 after enrolling in 2015. So it's a dream come true for me. I actually studied
18:06political science, social sciences. So it's actually a very beautiful day for me. I feel
18:19excited. I feel happy about this. Thank you. Thank you.
18:27This is where I am. Yeah. Okay. Hello. My name is Andy Adesai. My real name is Eddie Andras.
18:43I'm at the first convocation ceremony of National Open University here in Victoria-Alma University.
19:02The convocation is actually holding in Abuja because it now has different branches in Nigeria.
19:12Each study senses are holding their own convocation simultaneously alongside the headquarters in Abuja.
19:23So I'm so glad that I will be a graduate. I'm already a graduate. I graduated for National
19:32Open University after so many years of studies and struggles because it's been easy. The stress
19:39coming to write exams, the experience of TMAs, writing to it for Green TMAs. I mean, but at the end
19:48of the day, I'm super excited that I'm a graduate today. Okay. So as you can see, everybody is on a high
19:57move. People are excited about their new status, especially the first graduate. So actually, I gained admission
20:07in 2015 in 2015. I was supposed to graduate in 2019. But you know how it is, sometimes it could be
20:14financial issues, it could be, you know, some impaner issues and other unforeseen circumstances.
20:22So which actually added more years to my study here. So instead of the normal four years, I'm actually
20:29scared of 66 years.
20:31Why is that this going on for me?
20:33Because all in all, I'm super excited. I mean, it's no longer about the years I spent. It's
20:41not about me being a graduate. So the year starting at Stockton Park is my present status. Even if you graduated
20:50like 10 years ago, it still doesn't make any difference. Except that you have work experience, you know, as
21:00compared to a fresh graduate. But me being a fresh graduate doesn't mean that I've not been in the
21:06workspace before. I'm a freelancer. I've been working before I've been getting admission into
21:12National Open University. I've been working. I used the money I made from my business to
21:18sponsor myself in National Open University. So I already have work experience. So congrats to me and other
21:27political science students of National Open University. Thanks.
21:37How about this?
21:39So just briefly,
21:41You have your friends.
21:42How about this?
21:43How about this?
21:51Um, I was here at the 12th Publicationkatron of National Open University. We're going here in
21:55the Chicぶet Island neighborhood house.
21:57So I'm here with one of my hostmates and she studied political science just like I did.
22:04So let's see, what is your name?
22:07My name is Mr. B.
22:08Hey, can you tell me before?
22:10Mr. B.
22:12So how do you feel today?
22:14Oh my god, I feel so excited.
22:16It had not been easy.
22:18But yeah, we can't go down absolutely.
22:20For the past five years, we've been in school.
22:22But I've got that.
22:24He's finally stayed.
22:26You're heading out.
22:28It's not easy.
22:30But I've got one experience.
22:32Is this supposed to be a private?

23:28Oh, you studied what?
23:29Computer science.
23:30Computer science?
23:31Yeah.
23:31Okay, okay. That means you're a computer scientist now.
23:35Yeah.
23:36And can you, like, program code?
23:40Yeah, there are different fields in computer science. It depends on the one you actually choose to be.
23:47But, yeah, my line is what design is. So, of course, I can code.
23:53Oh, okay. That is great. So, what has been your experience at National Open University?
23:58It has been a whole lot. It hasn't been easy, but we actually skilled through everything, you know.
24:06We just kept pushing, and we didn't really give up.
24:09Okay, okay. That means you are now a graduate, and you're proud of that.
24:14Thank you for your short time.
24:16Alright, thank you very much.
