Bristol’s first-ever Krazy Races Soapbox Derby will be taking place next week (September 7) at Windmill Hill in Victoria Park from 9am, with over 40 local teams.  Teams will compete for various titles, including Best Dressed and Most Creative Kart Design, and will race to the finish in gravity-powered soapboxes fuelled by courage, inspiration and a dash of luck!  Ahead of the derby, all 40 teams brought their carts to the official scrutineering day at Ashton Gate Stadium, where every soapbox undergo safety checks - including those all-important brakes - while also offering the first sneak peek at the weird, wonderful, and wildly creative designs that will hit the track in September. 00:04today no I'm joking hi everybody it's Danny here from Crazy Races and we are

00:09here at Ashton Gate Stadium the home of Bristol City Football Club to meet our

00:14amazing 40 teams ahead of our Bristol Crazy Races Soapbox Derby taken over

00:19Victoria Park on Sunday the 7th of September we've created this scaled down

00:24camper van it's got everything it's got toilet jacuzzi two double bedrooms you

00:29will be seeing it it will be flying and you'll be smiling well as you can see

00:33our karts are very rudimentary at this point yeah we've got a little bit of

00:37work to do but I think I think we're gonna manage it it's a really good day out

00:41and good fun hopefully everyone gets down there safely but if not a bit of corny

00:45is a bit of fun as well well there's gonna be lots of amazing racing possibly

00:49some crashes everyone likes a good crash hopefully not us if you're looking for a

00:56fantastic Sunday out you're looking for fun you're looking for creativity yeah

01:01this is where you need to be we get a lot of teams down we've got a lot of

01:04charities there every single time we do it we get a lot of people and it's a

01:08really good event to come down to so I would definitely recommend it our

01:11headquarters are in Scotland and we're based in Avermouth here but the HQ is in

01:15Scotland I think there's people coming down from up there yes it should be

01:18should be a good day we've got our partnership here it's not completely done

01:21yeah we still got some paint to do so you know it's a work in progress all we

01:24gotta do paint job performance good to go there'll be a bar I assume somewhere

01:29there'll be a bar we can't wait to see lots of people cheering our team on we're

01:37gonna have a really big stand lots of fun activities to do as well and we just

01:41want to support crazy races as well because being in Bristol with a really

01:45big event this is great for us it's gonna be a great day and hopefully they're all

01:50the carts make it down the hill in one piece have a laugh with your mates

01:53watching good racing and flying carrots this is Dottie our team mascot dressed
