00:06of our latest videos this happened last february i was 22 and had just finished my final semester

00:14i needed time alone before starting my new job so i booked a cabin for a weekend it was a short-term

00:19rental outside a small town called norfield about three hours from where i lived the cabin was nice

00:26it has one bedroom a small kitchen a bathroom and a living area i brought my phone a book and

00:32a bluetooth speaker i arrived around 4 p.m on friday the cabin was clean and the owner left a

00:38note with the key and basic instructions there was no cell service but i didn't think much of it

00:44i unpacked made something to eat and spent the evening reading later i played a few songs from

00:49my phone through the speaker and went to bed then in the morning i took a walk and played a few music

00:55from my phone while cleaning that evening i was sitting on the couch with my phone on the table

01:00the speaker was still on but i wasn't playing anything then out of nowhere i heard something

01:05come through the speaker it started with a low crackling sound then a man's voice the voice began

01:11counting down slowly starting at 10 and kept counting down i looked at my phone but nothing was playing

01:18and also i didn't recognize the voice or the audio i turned the speaker off and sat there for a few

01:23minutes trying to figure out what happened i thought maybe the speaker picked up a signal from someone

01:28nearby but the cabin was in the middle of nowhere i didn't hear anything else that night and i went to

01:34bed early the next morning i got up early made a simple breakfast and tried not to think about the

01:40speaker i left it turned off and kept my phone on airplane mode the whole day i spent most of the

01:45afternoon outside walked a short trail behind the cabin then sat on the porch with my notebook

01:51everything felt normal again and for a while i thought maybe the night before had been just a

01:56glitch later in the evening i played one of my old voice memos while washing dishes

02:01just something i had recorded weeks ago with an idea for a project the speaker worked fine and nothing

02:07seemed off but i didn't play any music after that i turned the speaker off and left it on the table

02:13then plugged in my phone and left it in the bedroom it was close to midnight when i heard the noise again

02:18i was brushing my teeth and noticed a low sound coming from the living room at first i thought

02:23maybe the speaker turned on again by accident but when i stepped out i saw the power light was on

02:29and the voice had started playing it was the same muffled voice i heard before but this time it

02:34wasn't counting numbers it was just repeating my name again and again i picked up my phone but it

02:40wasn't playing anything the speaker was still paired but no audio should have been coming from it

02:46i turned it off again removed the batteries this time and placed it face down on the table

02:51the rest of the night stayed quiet but i kept waking up checking the door and windows and watching the

02:56speaker until it was light outside i woke up early and started packing right away even though i had

03:02planned to stay one more night nothing strange had happened after i removed the speaker's batteries

03:07but i didn't want to wait around for it to start again before leaving i walked through the cabin

03:12to check if i had forgotten anything the speaker was still on the table where i left it i wrapped

03:18it in a towel put it in a separate bag and loaded the rest of my things into the car i kept my phone

03:23in airplane mode until i was near town and when i finally turned it on everything looked normal again

03:29i stopped at a grocery store on the way home and dropped the speaker in a public trash bin outside

03:35it had worked fine for a year but i wasn't going to use it again i never figured out what caused

03:40the voice to play through it and no explanation for why the speaker turned on by itself or how it

03:45played audio that didn't exist in my files since then i've avoided using voice memos and i keep

03:52bluetooth turned off most of the time and nothing strange has happened but i still think about it

03:57sometimes especially when i see the same model of speaker in stores or online i never contacted the

04:03cabin owner because i didn't know what to say and there wasn't anything they could do i was alone the

04:08entire time and no one else had access to my things this happened two years ago when i was 26 and working

04:15from home in boston after a long stressful period at work i wanted some time alone so i found a small

04:22cabin in northern maine through a local rental site the cabin looked basic and remote which was exactly

04:27what i wanted the owner gave me directions over the phone since it wasn't on gps i had to follow a few

04:33rough landmarks like an old wooden sign and a dirt road that ended near the forest the drive took most

04:40of the day and i lost phone signal about half an hour before i reached the place when i arrived the

04:45cabin looked just like the photos i unpacked made some tea and sat outside for a while the area felt

04:52quiet not in a creepy way just calm and still in the morning i made breakfast and decided to take a walk

04:58behind the cabin there wasn't a marked trail but the trees were spaced out enough to move through

05:03easily i followed a clear path through the trees for about 15 or 20 minutes then i noticed something

05:09in the distance it looked like another cabin older and more run down i hadn't expected to see anything

05:15else out there since the area was meant to be isolated i walked a bit closer to get a better look

05:21the cabin was about the same size and shape as the one i rented but it looked like no one had used

05:26it in years i stepped onto the porch to get a better look i didn't try the door or go inside

05:32just stood there for a moment but something about it made me uneasy though i didn't really know why

05:37it wasn't anything obvious i stood there a bit longer then decided to head back i didn't feel like

05:43walking any farther into the woods once i got back to my cabin i stayed in for the rest of the day i didn't

05:50think much about the second cabin at first i figured maybe it had belonged to the same owner or

05:54someone else a long time ago still i kept checking the windows without really meaning to nothing

06:00happened that evening and i went to bed around the same time as before i woke up once probably

06:05close to three in the morning it wasn't loud but i thought i heard something outside i stayed in bed

06:11and listened but everything went quiet again i didn't go to the door this time i just waited until i

06:17felt tired enough to sleep again in the morning i packed my things i'd planned to stay two more days

06:23but i didn't feel like being there anymore nothing bad had happened but something didn't feel right

06:28later that week i looked online to see if anyone had mentioned anything about the area i came across

06:34a few random posts on local forums people mentioning old cabins in the woods ones that looked alike and

06:40strange feelings but i didn't look into it any further this happened in april last year when i was 19 and

06:48finishing my first year of college two friends from my dorm jamie and live suggested we rent a cabin in

06:54the appalachian mountains for the weekend jamie found a basic listing online it was in a remote area

07:00surrounded by woods we booked it from friday to sunday we left friday morning and got there by

07:06afternoon the last part of the drive was all winding roads with no houses nearby the cabin looked just

07:12like the photos plain and a little old but clean we unpacked ate and played cards after dinner around

07:1811 30 pm i went outside for a short walk since i wasn't tired yet i didn't tell the others just put

07:25on my hoodie and stepped out the back door there was a trail behind the cabin that was flat and easy to

07:30follow so i thought i'd walk for a few minutes before heading back i didn't take a flashlight but the moon

07:36was bright enough to see the path i stayed on the trail walked for about 10 minutes then turned

07:42around as i got close to the cabin something felt different the lights were still on but they seemed

07:48dimmer i walked inside and right away noticed things weren't the same as when i left the kitchen was clean

07:54the dishes we used earlier were gone from the sink our bags were zipped up and placed near the door even

08:00though we had already unpacked most of our stuff i looked around not sure what i was seeing jamie and

08:06liv were sitting on the couch like everything was normal they looked up and asked if i was ready to

08:11eat i didn't respond and just stood there trying to understand what was going on i had only gone for

08:17a short walk no more than 10 minutes and everything outside had felt normal they started making dinner

08:23again like it was the first time same food same comments same card game afterward it felt like the

08:29night had restarted and i was the only one who remembered the first version i stayed with them

08:35until they finished then went to bed early in the morning i got up before them and walked a little

08:40way up the trail again everything looked the same as it did the night before i stayed there for a few

08:46minutes hoping to notice something but nothing stood out when i got back i asked if they remembered

08:51me going out the night before liv said she thought i stepped outside for a moment and came right back

08:57jamie didn't remember it at all as far as they knew i hadn't been gone more than a minute the rest of the

09:03weekend was normal we did a short hike on saturday made lunch played some games in the evening and

09:09packed up on sunday before heading home nothing else felt off and i didn't bring up what happened

09:14they hadn't noticed anything and talking about it would have just made it more confusing after a week i got

09:20busy with finals i didn't bring it up again and neither did jamie or liv sometimes i wondered if i

09:26imagined it or remembered things wrong but the way the kitchen was reset the bags packed again

09:32and the same conversations repeated made it hard to believe it was just in my head i haven't been back

09:37to that area since i still think about it sometimes not because it scared me but because i still don't

09:43understand what really happened maybe it was small but it was enough that i still remember it i'll try to

09:49keep this short and focus only on the things that are making me feel this way the most recent thing

09:54happened just last night and i didn't sleep much so sorry if this sounds a bit messy my wife and i

10:00just bought our first home after our daughter was born the first few months were pretty normal we painted

10:06decorated did some small repairs and enjoyed our new place it really felt like a dream come true but

10:12then weird things started happening a few months ago i had just finished work and was driving home

10:17as i turned onto our street i noticed a truck parked about two or three houses down from ours

10:23with no company logo or anything on it i had never seen it before what made it even weirder was that

10:28we live in a small neighborhood where everyone knows each other and there's also no reason for

10:33anyone to just drive through it's not a main road and it doesn't lead anywhere else the truck was

10:39moving slowly not like someone looking for a house more like someone creeping along without wanting

10:44to be seen i remember thinking it felt wrong so i kept an eye on it as i pulled into my driveway

10:50but at that time i didn't know this was just the beginning it was moving really slowly like someone

10:56had put the truck in drive but didn't press the gas pedal as i pulled into my driveway the truck suddenly

11:02turned around and started coming back toward my house i got out of my car and watched as the truck

11:07slowly passed by the driver looked straight at me with a hard angry stare then quickly sped off down

11:13the street did i try not to judge people by how they look and i don't usually get scared easily but

11:19something about the way this man looked at me especially his eyes made me feel really uneasy

11:24later that evening i told my wife about it i said we should probably start being more careful

11:29maybe double check the locks and keep an eye out just in case when i described the truck the color

11:35the dents on the side and how it looked kind of old and dirty her face changed she said that same

11:40truck drove past our house earlier this afternoon when i got home the guy inside stared at me the whole

11:46time i was walking to the front door i thought he was just some creepy guy checking me out so i

11:51didn't say anything that made me even more uneasy the fact that he drove by twice in one day once when

11:57she was alone and again later when i got home didn't sit right with me i tried to lighten the mood

12:03and joked with her saying wow someone's a little full of herself not every guy on the road is checking

12:09you out i smiled when i said it but deep down the whole thing still bothered me i didn't want to

12:15scare my wife but i was definitely scared over the next couple of weeks we saw the truck a few more

12:21times sometimes it would drive by slowly and other times it would just sit parked down the street

12:26facing our yard it always felt like someone was watching us then one day the truck stopped coming

12:32we didn't see it again after that i told myself maybe i was just overthinking everything and being

12:37paranoid but then new things started happening for the past month or so my wife and i have been

12:43hearing soft tapping on the windows at the front of our house late at night it has happened two or

12:48three times to each of us always when we were alone it's usually around 10 or 11 at night the sound is

12:55soft but clear like someone lightly tapping with one finger on the metal part of a screen door if that

13:01makes sense it's not loud but you can definitely hear it the first time my wife and i heard it

13:06together was last weekend we were in the front room playing with our daughter our front room has

13:12a large window that almost reaches from the floor to the ceiling it stretches across the wall next

13:17to the front door and faces the street during the day it lets in a lot of light but at night

13:23it feels like anyone outside could be watching us that evening we were all sitting on the floor

13:28our backs to the window reading a book to our daughter before putting her to bed then we heard it

13:33like someone knocking with one knuckle on metal our house is old so we're used to creaks from the

13:39floor or random pops in the walls when the temperature changes but this didn't sound like

13:43that my wife and i froze for a second looked at each other and then stood up quickly i didn't want

13:49to panic her but i told my wife to take our daughter and go to one of the back rooms lock the

13:54door and stay quiet i turned on every light in the house grabbed the flashlight by the door

14:00and went outside i checked all around the house but there was no one there and nothing looked out

14:05of place still i couldn't shake the feeling that someone had been standing just outside that big

14:10window watching us of course i didn't see anyone outside so i was ready to forget about it and tell

14:16myself it was nothing but then something creepy happened last night it was around 9 45 and we were

14:23relaxing when we heard our daughter through the baby monitor she was making little noises moving around

14:28maybe crying a bit i waited a few minutes to see if she would calm down on her own but she didn't so i

14:34got up to go check on her and help her fall back to sleep the shape of the room is important to

14:39understand what happened next this room is on the side of our house but one part of the outside wall

14:45sticks out in an l shape the corner of that l is made of windows if you stand in the doorway of the

14:51room you can see those windows straight ahead in the far corner in the other corner of the room

14:56there's a rocking chair that faces toward the front of the house one of the windows faces the street

15:02and the other faces our neighbor's house outside there's a garden bed with small bushes that goes

15:07along the wall under the windows i was sitting in the rocking chair holding my daughter and helping

15:12her fall back asleep the lamp was on so the room had a soft warm light after she finally dozed off

15:19i stood up to put her in her crib that's when something caught my eye just outside the window

15:24in the small open space between the bushes and the wall of the house i didn't look long enough to

15:29see many details but it looked like a man wearing a light gray hoodie standing just a few feet away

15:35on the other side of the window i ran out of the room as fast as i could holding my daughter i brought

15:41her to our bedroom and gave her to my wife i told her to lock the door even though she was clearly

15:46confused and didn't know what was going on yet then i turned off all the lights inside the house

15:52and switched on all the lights outside after that i started checking every room one by one

15:58i looked out the windows into the dark but i didn't see anything strange whoever it was must

16:03have run off as soon as they saw me notice them and leave the room after that it was hard to sleep

16:08i spent hours checking the security cameras and walking from room to room looking out the windows

16:14trying to see if anything was there part of me wanted to see something that could explain what happened

16:19but another part of me was scared to see anything at all this morning i went outside to check the

16:25spot where the person had been standing i really wanted to believe it was just my imagination i told

16:31myself maybe there was a plant a shadow or something else outside that i mistook for a person

16:36so in the morning after barely sleeping i went straight to the window to check but when i got there

16:42i saw something that made my stomach drop right in front of the window was a clear patch of ground

16:47about two feet wide that's exactly where the figure had been standing there was no way i confused it

16:53with a tree or a shadow it was an open space and anyone standing there would have had a perfect view

16:58into the room straight at me and my daughter i stood there for a while just staring at that empty patch of

17:04earth trying to calm my thoughts i kept telling myself i was just being paranoid it's easy to imagine

17:10things in the dark especially when you're tired i haven't been sleeping well since all this started

17:16between taking care of our daughter and constantly feeling on edge my mind is worn out but still

17:21with everything that's happened it all feels like too much to ignore a part of me is trying to stay

17:27calm trying to believe it's all just in my head but deep down i can't shake the feeling that someone

17:32really was standing there last night watching us and i keep thinking if they were that close once

17:38what's stopping them from coming even closer
