What one thing would you like Sheffield Council to change?
Transcript
00:00Could you tell me what the one thing is that you'd like to see Sheffield Council change?
00:07I would very much like it if the council would focus on keeping the streets clean, especially outside of the city centre.
00:14There are certain types of litter which can pose actual dangers to pedestrians.
00:19I actually had an incident where I tried to move something out of the road and I broke my foot because of it.
00:24In the city centre it's not that much of a big deal, but in the more rural areas, in the more residential areas,
00:35it would be very nice to see the area maintained more frequently and to a higher standard.
00:43I'd say more investment in the Sheffield city centre but around different areas.
00:49So right now the heart of the city centre project has taken up so much money as is Fargate,
00:53whereas places like Castlegate for example still remain pretty undeveloped.
00:58Absolutely, they need to sort out the city centre. It's just absolutely dying and it's meant to be like the hub of our city
01:07and the loss of John Lewis was just tragic for the city centre so they need to put some work in there.
01:13To probably invest more in the city centre in terms of like there's a lot of run down shops that aren't being used
01:20and just to overall improve the city centre for customers to come into the city.
01:27I'd like to improve the bus services.
01:31Do you think there are any problems with the bus services at the moment?
01:35Yeah, there aren't enough buses and when they do run they're quite slow or sometimes they don't turn up,
01:41so they're not very reliable.
01:44I would like them to make sure that the Burn Cross area where I live has a regular bus service
01:51because it picks up in a lot of areas from where I live into town
01:58and sometimes the buses are still missing or there's 40 minutes between each bus.
02:03So an improvement on the 86 bus route please.
02:08I'd like them to provide some sort of transport around Riveling Valley Road and the Bowhills
02:16because there's no public transport there at all.
02:19Plus we don't get any gritting or anything.
02:22We haven't had for 50 years so we can't get out when the weather's bad.
02:27And it's very steep and so it's very difficult for disabled people, older people, ladies with prams and things
02:37and so that would be helpful.
