00:00Until you gave me a new role in Incognito, I never really thought about, I want to be an actor.
00:07The fight scene of Kenji and Andres, played by Daniel Padilla, it looked realistic.
00:14Do you know why it looks realistic?
00:16Why?
00:17Because it was real.
00:30Hello, Pepsters! Welcome to Pep Spotlight. I am your host, Bernie.
00:38And I'm Pink. Makakasama natin ngayon ang isa sa mga rising stars ng showbiz.
00:44At syempre, actually Bernie, ito, nakilala rin siya dahil sa kanyang mga flawless stunts na dinirect sa Incognito.
00:54Correct. And apart from that, he is also a businessman and an athlete.
00:59So, let's get to know more about this man of many talents. Please welcome, Lance Pimentel.
01:07Hello! Hi, Pepsters! Thanks for having me.
01:11Yes, welcome to Pep Spotlight, Lance. It's good to have you here. First time niya sa atin na-interview.
01:19Yeah, thanks for having me. Beautiful office din bala.
01:23Yay! Thank you!
01:24Thank you, Lance.
01:24So, sino ba naman yung hindi makaka-notice sa'yo when those videos of you doing action scenes, talagang...
01:33Thank you, thank you.
01:34...na-curious yung netizens. So, it's nice na we'll get to know more about you.
01:39Salamat. Thank you. Thanks for having me here.
01:41Alright.
01:41So, first question. Kamusta yung experience because you are a stunt choreographer and action director,
01:50and then you acted in front of the camera? Kamusta yung experience na to?
01:56Well, the experience, it's not the easiest task kasi you have to choreograph, you have to memorize your lines,
02:06and then you have to teach the choreography to your co-actors also, and then collaborate with different people,
02:13like the director, like the art department, the AD. So, it was a lot of tasks, and it wasn't easy.
02:23And you worked with a powerhouse cast for Incognito, like you had Daniel Padilla, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings,
02:33Ian Veneracion, Richard Gugueres. How was it working with them? Kamusta yung dynamics nyo noon behind the camera and on cam?
02:42So, we've established a really good relationship coming with the castle Incognito. We've been through a lot of challenges and experience as a group.
02:59So, we've been to Italy, Japan, the snow in Japan. So, went to Marawi and a long time in Baguio.
03:09So, yung mga joint and hardship and experience as a set, talaga created a really good bond within the afters.
03:20And also, hindi lang sa afters, mga ano rin, even in the staff of Incognito. So, even off cam, we would hang out.
03:32Like me and Tito Ian and DJ would ride motorcycles or nung Japan, actually, during our rest day, nag-snowboard kami, kami ni Anthony, ni DJ nung Tito Ian.
03:46Sana all.
03:49May I ask, how young are you, Lance?
03:52I'm 26 years old.
03:54So, oh my gosh, only 26 years old, Bernie.
03:56And sobrang mga matatagal lang artista yung mga katrabaho mo and you had to direct them dun sa mga stunts.
04:04Kumusta yung dynamics na yun? I mean, was it easy for you as a young actor at the same time director?
04:12I would say it's easy because my co-actors, they're very professional and they have trust in me naman.
04:28I've worked with them for quite a long time. Like, marami kaming pinagsamahan.
04:33I've also trained them before kami mag-shoot. So, ayun, we have a mutual trust in each other to do this project really, really well.
04:44And we have the same vision in changing the landscape of Philippine action, not just yung what we would say is old school action scenes.
04:58So, together naman, we work with the same vision and they're very professional and we didn't really have that much problem.
05:12Sino yung pinakakomportable ka sa kanila na katrabaho?
05:19I would say si Tito Ian is the most I'm comfortable with because this is my third project with Tito I.
05:28So, my first project was with him already. I was called One Good Day in a Prime Video. Yeah.
05:37And then, yung Iron Heart. And then, ngayon, sa Incognito. And, um, and Off Cam also.
05:44He was actually the one who taught me how to ride a motorcycle.
05:48Kasi he loves motorcycles.
05:50Yeah, yes. And, um, I'm really good friends with his kids too. Si Draco and Duccio. Yeah, so.
05:58Speaking of action scenes, Lance, kasi ikaw yung napansin because of your impressive action stunts sa Incognito, no?
06:08Ano yung naramdaman mo when you finally got noticed? Kasi it was not the first time that you did action scenes.
06:14I think you did also La Luna Sangre. Yes.
06:17And Bagani. Yes.
06:19But finally, you got noticed in this project. How did that make you feel?
06:23Actually, um, it's, it's quite overwhelming. I wasn't really expecting
06:28to have a big, uh, response from our audience.
06:32Um, I was just doing it because, uh, I was tasked to, like, um, go to Japan, ano?
06:39Since you're already going to Japan, might as well be this, um, character.
06:43And then I just did my best. And, uh, yung response nung ating viewers is, um, talagang very unexpected, I would say.
06:55And I'm very thankful for, for, uh, that.
06:58How long did you shoot that sequence?
07:00That sequence was good in Japan for Kenji.
07:04Correct.
07:04Maybe average of shooting a scene is, uh, three hours?
07:08Three hours? Yeah.
07:09It's quite fast.
07:11Uh, it's just like, uh, choreography.
07:15Like, action star.
07:17Okay, that's the same thing.
07:19Okay, that's the same thing.
07:20Yeah, the choreography, because here in the Philippines, we don't have the luxury of rehearsals.
07:25Okay.
07:26Everything is on the spot. So, you go to the set, and you see what's there, and then you choreograph there,
07:33and you teach the actors there, everything on the spot.
07:36So, even if they have the script beforehand?
07:39Yes, because we shoot 130 episodes.
07:44So, this is a daily grind.
07:47Like, we shoot fight scenes every day.
07:49So, you don't have time, talaga, to prepare.
07:52Okay.
07:53Curious ako, Pink, now, how did you get the knowledge?
07:56Kasi yung angulo, yung execution, because you took up a different course
08:02in college, yeah.
08:03So, how did you get the knowledge in doing action scenes?
08:06Well, uh, thankfully,
08:09I have my father.
08:10He's actually the director of Equal Mito.
08:13Direct Lester.
08:15Direct Lester, yes.
08:16So, since I was a kid, I was going to his sets already.
08:19And at home.
08:22Like, all we talk about is film, action scenes, we watch movies together, we watch YouTube action scenes.
08:32And then, um, also my action director is also a really, really good friend, a family friend.
08:40His name is, uh, Direct Ace Wang Yanbin.
08:44So, he's a director from Singapore.
08:47And, um, he's one of my, ano talaga, uh, mentor in terms of action.
08:54So, I have a lot of mentors teaching me and I have, uh, YouTube as well.
09:00I go to YouTube and learn, uh, film, uh, techniques and, uh, how to do things.
09:08And you also have a knowledge with martial arts.
09:12I mean, how long have you been trained for that?
09:15So, martial arts talaga is part of our, uh, family culture.
09:21So, from generations to generations being passed.
09:25Like, from my lolo to my father to me and my cousins, my brothers,
09:30everyone does, um, martial arts.
09:31So, our martial arts is Chinese martial arts.
09:34It's called Wushu.
09:36And I've been doing it since I was five years old.
09:38So, talagang meron siya talagang, ano na din, background sa, pag, ano, action-action under me.
09:45Speaking about that Pink, I think he also, he was also a national athlete before.
09:50Yes.
09:52So, I was part of the junior national, uh, team of the Philippines.
09:57Uh, yun.
09:58So, I've been doing Wushu since a kid until, like, national team ako, joined a few competitions,
10:06won some, ayan.
10:08So, that helped you?
10:09Yeah.
10:10Did you imagine yourself that you'd follow in the footsteps of your dad one day
10:14and mag-direct din lang stuff?
10:16Like, I guess so.
10:18Parang, seeing him do these things since I was a little kid, like, talagang inspired me.
10:24Okay.
10:24And really dreamt of doing this, uh, job, too.
10:27Hmm.
10:28Curious ako, Lance, kasi diba, um, pagdating sa showbiz, you're a director when it comes to stunts.
10:36But, in college, you took up business technology.
10:40Yes.
10:40So, parang medyo, well, it's really malayo.
10:44Yeah.
10:44So, bakit yun ang kinawa mong course?
10:48Well, um, we do have our family business.
10:51Okay.
10:52And, um, it's also our passion.
10:54Our family business is our passion.
10:56And, uh, I also envision myself to be working there, too, not just in the film industry.
11:05Kasi yung film, ano naman, yung showbiz, hindi mo naman yan pwedeng pangharapin.
11:10Hindi mo alam kung akukuha mo ba yan, kung project is going to come.
11:14But, you know, I think the safest choice talaga if you're going to choose something is, you know, business.
11:24Is it okay to ask for the, uh, restaurant businesses or the brands that you manage?
11:31So, um, we have our first, uh, brand yung rice in a box.
11:36And then, um, eventually we have, uh, Wang Fu.
11:41Uh, it's, uh, Singaporean Chinese cuisine.
11:45And then we got the QQ Ramen.
11:48Uh, it's, uh, 99 Peso Ramen.
11:51And, uh, we have our franchise, um, Others Ice Cream from Singapore.
11:57Si Richard Yap, alam ko, he owns Wang Fu.
12:00He's a part owner of Wang Fu.
12:03That explains why.
12:05How about the, um, branch in QC na Dean and Deluca?
12:09Uh, we also franchise, uh, Dean and Deluca, yung mga QC branches.
12:13And we're actually, uh, opening one in, um, Marilake.
12:19Marilake.
12:20In Tanay.
12:21Oh, okay.
12:23So you've been exposed to your, well, primarily your dad doing this, putting up this businesses.
12:30You, now that you're also, um, involved in a business, what have you learned about handling a business?
12:41Ano yung, uh, insights mo so far?
12:44Uh, some madaling salita, I would say, uh, nothing beats hard work sa business.
12:52My dad would always say na, uh, other people won't make the money for you.
13:00Like, you have to make your own money.
13:02Like, ibig sabihin nun, pag magbubukas ka ng tindahan, wag mo iasa sa, ano, sa crew or sa manager.
13:10Like, you have to be there and bantayan mo talaga.
13:13Ikaw magkahera, magluto ka, magwaiter ka.
13:16So, yun ang natutunan ko talaga from, from our business.
13:21So, ikaw, did you experience that?
13:23Oh, yeah, for sure.
13:25Um, since ako mga, ano, when I was a teenager, I would, uh, be waiting tables.
13:33I'll be a waiter for our, uh, restaurants.
13:36Nag-crew din ako for rice in a box.
13:40And so, inaaral ko rin yung, yung, yung that side of the business also.
13:44And what do you enjoy the most about it now?
13:48Sa, uh, handling the business side, handling the business.
13:52Um, right now, I'm, uh, I'm handling the, the marketing side of our business.
13:58And I'm enjoying that process kasi when we make these marketing collaterals,
14:07marketing efforts, and you see it come to life.
14:10And, uh, see it in the stores, and you see it working.
14:13It's improving sales.
14:14Parang, it's very fulfilling.
14:16Mm-hmm.
14:17Okay, grabe, no?
14:19Correct.
14:20Ang dami nilang, ano, pa-restaurant.
14:23Oo, tsaka, iba-iba talaga siya ng industry, no?
14:26So, growing up, um, how were you raised?
14:30Uh, did your dad influence you na huwag lang mag-focus sa isang interest?
14:36Field.
14:36Ano ba, ayan?
14:37I, I would say, siguro, he, he didn't really force us or say anything.
14:43He would always say na, do what you want.
14:46Do what you love.
14:48Pero, he would always bring me to the office.
14:52He would bring me to the store.
14:53Tatambay lang kami doon.
14:54He would bring me to the set.
14:56And, um, syempre, parang bina in-wash yata ako.
15:01Hindi ko alam, eh.
15:02Na, doon na rin yung nahiligan ko.
15:04Because this is what you see.
15:06Yeah.
15:08Pero, kung ganun, na, if you were exposed to doing the hard work as well,
15:14even though, na, technically, you own the businesses,
15:17ikaw as a child growing up, ano ka, parang talagang ganun kailangan, ganun din yung pagkapalaki sa'yo ng parents mo na maging responsible or hindi yung super sheltered kid.
15:30Well, yeah, it's, it's, uh, in-instill nga talaga sa amin na hard work always pays off.
15:36And, you always have to be responsible.
15:38Like, hindi nga man finors sa amin yung business or the showbiz.
15:42But, sinasabing nga lagi na my dad and my mom na,
15:46in everything you do, you have to do your best.
15:48You have to be responsible and be hardworking.
15:51Hmm.
15:52Ayan.
15:52And, you have to learn everything if you're gonna do it, do the business.
15:58Okay.
15:59Ikaw din ba yung tipong bata na dinadala ng tatay niya sa set, tapos nakikita niya how it works?
16:05May pinan ka ba?
16:05Tama, yes.
16:06Since I was, like, mga six, seven years old, I was going to the set na,
16:12I was looking at how things work.
16:14Hmm.
16:15And, yun, talagang nakita ko yung sarili ko dun, eh.
16:18Talagang na, when I was a kid, sinabi ko na, someday I want to do this also, yeah.
16:25Anong mga memories or yung mga scenes na natatandaan mo nun?
16:28Sino yung mga artista?
16:30May vivid memories ka ba?
16:33For sure, natatandaan ko yung pagsinama ako ng dad ko sa set nung Panday.
16:39He was doing Panday with Jericho Rosales.
16:42Jericho Rosales.
16:43Yes.
16:43Wow!
16:44And Heart Evangelista.
16:45Yes.
16:46Yes.
16:47And I would still vividly remember my interaction with Jericho Rosales nung bata ko.
16:54Talaga.
16:54Okay.
16:56And then, did you think that, oh, I want to act also like you someday?
17:00Oh, hindi.
17:01Hindi pa nun.
17:01Hindi naman.
17:02And then, like, bigay sa akin yung role sa ikod nito.
17:07I never really thought about, I want to be an actor.
17:11Okay.
17:12Okay.
17:13So, kumbaga, it was not really your intention to do it.
17:17Parang, binagay lang sa'yo.
17:18Since you're the stunt director, you might as well act.
17:22Parang, okay, gano'n ka lang.
17:23Parang, parang gano'n.
17:24Parang, parang may, ano, pasok kasi nga, kung nag-trend yung Kenji role na, ibig sabihin yun, more or less, ano dun yung, ay, pwede, di ba?
17:36And also, where did you study when you were here in the Philippines?
17:42My high school was in Chinese International School of Manila.
17:47So, yun, it was in Taguig and I really need to go to an international school kasi I had
17:54talagang hopes and dreams to study abroad.
17:57Okay, it came from you talaga na you want to study a watch?
18:03No, it came from my dad.
18:04But why choose Canada apart from other schools?
18:11So, our University of British Columbia is one of the top schools out there in the world and
18:21the environment in Canada is different from other countries kasi Canada is a very international
18:32country, specifically Vancouver.
18:35Like, if you go to Vancouver, it's not really heavily populated by Canadians.
18:42It's very, very diverse, like Europeans, Chinese, Indians, talaga, and I think it's a good
18:53environment to be in, that kind of mix of culture, knowing different kinds of people,
19:00how they are, how they mingle with people, you learn a lot.
19:04So, there's no discrimination or something kasi kapag gano'n, pag-diverse talaga.
19:09I think pag-diverse, mas less ang ano eh.
19:12Less yung discrimination.
19:13Discrimination kasi mas nagkakaintindihan ng tao na we're different than yung pag may minority
19:18and then merong ano, yun.
19:21Leaving there by yourself or did you have any relatives?
19:26I had a few relatives there to take care of me.
19:28And I was there with my brother also.
19:30Hmm.
19:31My older brother went to the same university.
19:33Okay.
19:34Yeah.
19:34So, that's not so tough, no?
19:36Kasi you have someone with you, not close.
19:38It's not that tough naman, I would say.
19:40Pero, it could get tough.
19:41How was it being independent?
19:43How was it being independent in a country?
19:46It took a while of getting used to.
19:52Like what?
19:54So, chores?
19:55I have chores, cooking.
19:58I never know how to cook.
19:59Did you learn how to cook?
20:00I learned how to cook there.
20:01Pero, I don't cook.
20:02What do you cook?
20:04I don't cook well.
20:06So, it's hard for me.
20:08Like, what's the example?
20:09But, the dish I always cook is adobo.
20:11Wow!
20:12Ay, mayroong adobo.
20:14Mayroong adobo.
20:14Mayroong adobo.
20:15Yay!
20:16Sorry.
20:17Pero, yun.
20:18I would say adobo is my best dish.
20:22So, lagi akong adobo.
20:23Wow!
20:24So, medyo nakakasawa din.
20:25Okay.
20:26But, did you get to like travel a lot during your stay there?
20:31Or, talagang studies lang?
20:32Wala, study lang eh.
20:33And, hindi naman kami binigyan ng big budget ng parents namin to go around.
20:40We had to work there in Canada also.
20:42Mga part-time jobs.
20:44Like?
20:45So, I had several.
20:46So, naging waiter din ako.
20:48Lahan.
20:49Naging barista ko.
20:51And then, nag-ano din ako. Deliver din ako ng food.
20:54Ako sa food delivery ko.
20:56On a bike.
20:57Mm-hmm.
20:59Ayan.
20:59Did you enjoy it?
21:00Yeah.
21:01Or what?
21:01I would say I enjoyed it the most.
21:03Kasi yung bike delivery, yung food delivery on a bike, yun talaga yung inenjoy ko.
21:08Because, I like biking.
21:10And I was biked the city.
21:12And then, meron siya parang parang Grab siya.
21:16Grab app.
21:17And then, I had that door dash yung tawag nila din eh.
21:22So, I did that door dash delivery.
21:24And I was biking around the city.
21:27Places you don't really go to.
21:29And then, you're making money rin.
21:32Tsaka yung napansin ko doon, pag ganin yung pagpapalaki mga pink.
21:35Apart from the, you get extra money, yung discipline na nakukuha.
21:40Like, you were into sports.
21:42And then, you've been a working student.
21:44Yung discipline na nakukuha mo dito.
21:46Prepares you later in life, no?
21:50Hopefully.
21:52Hopefully, it did.
21:54Kasi you took up business tech.
21:56Yes.
21:56Sa University of British Columbia.
21:59And then, doing all those odd jobs in the past.
22:03Do you think it helped you now?
22:06Now that you're also managing businesses?
22:09I believe so.
22:11Because, um,
22:12you will learn a lot from those random jobs eh.
22:17You, it, it, first of all, it builds character.
22:20Right.
22:20So, siyempre.
22:22Doon, you're, like, really low.
22:25And you have to be humble.
22:26And, um, uh, parang in, in food delivery, you learn different, uh, things.
22:33And, like, you meet a lot of people, different kinds of people, mga ganang.
22:39Yeah.
22:40Wow.
22:41Ang light nung personal light.
22:43Yay!
22:44Ang ng l Jean.
22:45Ang lusu walong isa nung ng lang.
22:46Brother, pag ka?
22:47Kaya ka, pang ano talaga, pag LP.
22:48Sabi nga sa kanya behind the camp, pag PBB siya eh.
22:51Oh, ae.
22:52I'ma hirap yun.
22:53It's hard. I can't help but think that you went through all those experiences in your life.
23:04You were a working student. You were sheltered because you were very nice.
23:10You didn't have much experience in your life.
23:12But there were such experiences.
23:17It would have been a different matter if you studied here in the Philippines.
23:22For sure. It would be different.
23:24Because here, we have more help.
23:28Not just from our families. Being alone.
23:32Or at least with your brother. It's hard.
23:35I guess you learn more about yourself when you're alone.
23:39Nice.
23:40What's your principle in life?
23:43Because your experience is very optimistic.
23:46Were you taught also about that by your parents?
23:50To be optimistic?
23:51Yeah.
23:52Very zen she.
23:53Calm down.
23:55For sure.
23:57They really instilled that to me.
24:00To be optimistic all the time.
24:02And see the opportunities and everything.
24:07And to be optimistic about a situation.
24:11But actually, naturally, I'm a very negative person.
24:15Really?
24:16Like, I'm wired to see the negative parts of the situation.
24:26Or I always look at the problem first.
24:29Or I have that tendency to assess things and look at the problem first.
24:32But of course, my parents, they always tell me that stop looking at the problem.
24:38Look at the opportunity.
24:39And it's a constant thing for me to keep on reaching.
24:46To look for opportunities and being more optimistic, actually.
24:52Right.
24:52So you officially joined Showbiz, but behind the camera, after you graduated?
24:58Yes.
24:58As soon as I graduated, when I went back, we started the show on one good day.
25:05Yeah.
25:06Hmm.
25:07You really joined the show on one good day.
25:08You really joined the work.
25:09Like, after a month of being here in the Philippines from Canada, we started working on one good day.
25:15So, is there a condition for your dad when you joined Showbiz?
25:22Like, if there's no condition, do you have any reminders about what you should be cautious about?
25:29Um, I guess he would always say that don't chase fame.
25:34Don't chase fame.
25:35Uh, be true to your craft and master your craft and success will follow.
25:45And after the success of Incognito, you are going to be seen again in another Netflix project.
25:52Yes.
25:52Uh, we actually did a show or already it's done.
25:57We finished filming actually before Incognito pa.
26:00It's with, uh, Baron Geisler and the movie is called Delivery Rider.
26:06Um, it's going to be shown, I believe, sometime, uh, this year in, uh, Netflix.
26:12What is it about, Lance?
26:16I'm not too sure if I could talk a lot about it, but basically, it's about a delivery rider
26:21that knows how to fight.
26:23Wow, it's an action ulit.
26:26Yeah, it's an action film.
26:28And then you, um, did the action scenes again.
26:32I mean, you, um, directed the action scenes again for this project.
26:36Yes, yes.
26:37How was it naman?
26:39Um, actually, I worked with, uh, Sir Baron for, for this project.
26:46And the training talaga kami and he was really into the training talaga.
26:50I've never had an actor be that dedicated to, to the training.
26:56So, we would train a lot and, um, coincidentally na nagamit din namin yung training niyan for Incognito.
27:03Wow, like, how long yung training namin?
27:08We trained for three months, I think, three months or more, more than three months.
27:13That's a long time.
27:14That's a long time.
27:15Pero sa kanya talaga, uh, we would train almost twice a week, parang ganon.
27:19It was a lot of training.
27:20Parang Hollywood din, ah?
27:22And then, education and the time that we put to it.
27:24Yeah, yeah.
27:25Mushu din or ibang klase naman?
27:28We trained more of MMA, MMA fighting for this one.
27:33Okay.
27:33Okay, curious ako, I think, no?
27:36Lan, since, um, you are a new breed of action director, no?
27:40Tapos nabanggit mo kanina about yung, well, yung typical action scenes, uh, action genre sa Pilipinas.
27:47What do you aim to put when it comes to the genre, ikaw, as a new breed of action director?
27:55Uh, don't get me wrong, walang mali sa, ano, old style of, um, action filming.
28:02Mm-hmm.
28:02Like, me and my dad, ang favorite nga namin panoorin is si FPJ.
28:06Ah, for sure.
28:07Yeah, old school.
28:08Yeah, that old school talaga.
28:09King of Philippine movies.
28:11It has its time and it was really good at kinapitan siya ng tao.
28:15Right.
28:16Pero, syempre, gusto rin natin mag-introduce ng, ah, new kind of, um, action.
28:21Yung, we can, ah, compete with, ah, international, um, level.
28:28Sorry, sir, what's your question?
28:29Ano yung gusto mong i-bring to the table as a new breed of action director?
28:36I think you answered it well, if you have, if you want to add anything.
28:40Anything to that.
28:41Anong klase yung nakikita mong naiiba ngayon?
28:44I would say, um, a faster-paced, um, action, more numbers, a more realistic kind of, um, action.
28:55And, more, most importantly, yung mukhang masakit.
28:59Diba?
29:00Kasi, realistic.
29:01Realistic.
29:02Yun ang gusto makita ng tao.
29:04Kasi, kanyari, if it's a comedy, ang gusto mo is matawa.
29:08Ang horror, gusto mo matakot.
29:10Pag-action, you want to feel the pain.
29:12Diba?
29:12You want to be thrilled.
29:14Ayun.
29:15And can I just say, no, Pink, you succeeded in doing this in Incognito when I watched the fight scene of Kenji and Andres,
29:23played by Daniel Padilla.
29:26Yung masakit and then yung angling na parang tumatama, it looked realistic.
29:31And ang galing lang ng mga angglo.
29:35Do you know why it looks realistic?
29:37Why?
29:38Because it was real.
29:39Ay, okay.
29:40Okay, son, tumatama.
29:41There's no secret to real.
29:44So, masakit yun.
29:45Hindi naman, every punch is, malapit siya, malapit malapit siya.
29:50Okay.
29:51And sometimes, tumatama talaga.
29:54Oh my god.
29:54That's why.
29:55And then yung mga blocks, talagang tama.
29:58Yung mga takedowns, talagang hulog, masakit.
30:02So, yun.
30:02So, yung mga nits ni Daniel, tumatama talaga dito.
30:06Nakita ko, parang, so talagang totoo pala siya.
30:08So, game siya.
30:10Kasi that was the first time that Daniel ventured into action.
30:14Action.
30:14Yes.
30:14And he was really into it.
30:16Now, he wants…
30:17But it doesn't seem like it was his first time, no?
30:19Kala, yung baayin na.
30:21So, yung mga sabihin, thanks to the mentors.
30:23And Daniel ventured into that on his own, siyempre.
30:26No, but si Daniel talaga is a very talented guy.
30:31Talagang puha niya.
30:33And nakakatawa si Daniel kasi we've got to speak to him about it.
30:36And he said na the next project that he would want, action pa rin yung gusto niya.
30:40And sobe yung happy siya about it.
30:43Yeah.
30:43Kasi dream niya talaga din eh.
30:44Momentum niya, di ba?
30:46Dream niya din maging action star pa rin.
30:48Yeah.
30:48Kasi, I guess na-enjoy niya rin yung…
30:52Kaya pala, to make it more realistic is to don't fake it.
30:56Don't fake it!
30:56Yeah, there's no substitute for realism.
31:00Just make it real.
31:01So, may mga chances that you really…
31:04Well, I think that's accidental na yung you get hurt or…
31:07Meron, meron din.
31:08Hmm.
31:09What was the worst that you've experienced if you might want to share?
31:15Well, um…
31:16But no broken bones naman?
31:18No broken bones.
31:19Like, one of the knees na nakita mo doon talagang tumama siya straight dito sa…
31:24Sikmura.
31:25Sa sikmura.
31:26Sa sikmura ko.
31:26And then medyo napakat ako ng, ano, hindi oras.
31:30Oh, man!
31:31So, I had to breathe for a few minutes.
31:35Ayun.
31:36If you would look at my IG, actually, the behind-the-scenes was…
31:39Is there.
31:39Mmm.
31:40I think…
31:41Oh, kaling, kaling.
31:42I think it's all worth it.
31:44Yeah!
31:45Ang ganda ng execution.
31:46Thank you, thank you.
31:46I enjoyed it.
31:47Kasi, yun nga.
31:48Sabi mo kay Pink, I really like watching action scenes.
31:52Minsan, kahit wala nang talk, just to see them doing the fight scenes.
31:55Hahaha.
31:56Oh, dobbin!
31:57Enjoy siya, oo.
31:58And to watch that kind of action scenes, which I seldom see in Philippine projects, that was a treat.
32:08Thank you, thank you.
32:10Appreciate it.
32:11Sino ba ang, ano, mo, favorite action star mo?
32:15Hollywood kasi.
32:16Yeah, it's okay.
32:17I'm just curious.
32:18Walang naman yung particular, but the action scenes, special effects,
32:23siyempre, that's Hollywood.
32:24They have budgets.
32:25So, you can't go wrong.
32:27Well, I love female characters.
32:30Sila, Charlize, Uma Thorman.
32:32Oh, yeah.
32:33So, those actions…
32:34Kill Bill is my favorite.
32:35Oh, yes.
32:35Oh, yes.
32:36Oh, yes, naman ako.
32:37I'm the only one that I can do.
32:38It's in 2020.
32:39Yeah.
32:40Sobrang masarap panore na.
32:42Over and over again.
32:44Wow.
32:45So, to see that, you see that in the Philippine setting.
32:50Wow.
32:51Ganda.
32:52That's the goal.
32:53And thankful na nakita niyo yun.
32:56Wow, I'm excited ako.
32:58I hope to see you more, Lance.
32:59And to the delivery rider, no?
33:01Naandod din si Jay Cuenca.
33:03Yes, tama.
33:04Jay Cuenca is there.
33:05You got to work with him?
33:06I got to work with Jake in Ironheart.
33:12And then, built a really good relationship with Jake then.
33:16So, si Jake and Baron, they're very, very passionate people.
33:22And they're very hardworking people na bibigay nila lahat talaga.
33:26Maganda yung binigay nila doon.
33:29So, maraming akabangan na Fight Kids.
33:33Okay.
33:34Nainteresta ka parang, parang ano, parang late this year?
33:40Um, I'm not too sure.
33:42I don't think I can say anything about the, ano, the showing.
33:45Abangan natin ng delivery rider.
33:47Yeah.
33:47I think it's gonna be another treat, no?
33:50If you were to rank yung mga interests mo, passions mo, no?
33:55You have sports, showbiz, and business.
33:58In terms of priority, what will be the sequence?
34:01It's so hard to rank everything.
34:06But what do you mean by showbiz?
34:08Because showbiz is not really my thing.
34:10It's more of like, I would say filmmaking.
34:12Oh, filmmaking.
34:13Okay.
34:14Yeah, I think that's another term.
34:16I would rank filmmaking first.
34:19Okay, definitely.
34:20Okay, so that's what you want.
34:21Next, the business and then sports.
34:26Since I mentioned filmmaking, and you were able to direct actors, in the future, are there any more actors that you would like to direct?
34:46Newbies or the old ones, yung gusto mong makatrabaho and see them doing action scenes?
34:53Ang hirap kasi yung inkong nito, it's such a star-studded cast.
35:01Like, Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, Ian Veneracion, Maris, Anthony, Kyla, Baron.
35:10Kyla, yeah. Forgot.
35:11Diba? Like, parang hirap magkaroon ng another dream cast.
35:18So, I think I'm working with my dream cast already.
35:22Maybe, already.
35:24Yeah.
35:25And the next project, I don't mind working with the same people.
35:29Pero wala pa namang part two kasi may mga umalingas-masks.
35:34Ang daming nga, nagname-message eh.
35:35Parang, no? Parang magkakaroon ng part two.
35:38Pero, I think as of now, wala pang plans.
35:42So, you know.
35:44Yeah.
35:44You, Lance, may mga, given the chance that, um, given the chance to star in your own project,
35:52tele-serum or movie, would you go for it?
35:55Um, uh, I would always say na, if the opportunity comes, why not?
36:04Pero yung pagiging artista or leading in a film or TV is not really my, uh, my dream or my passion.
36:12But my passion is to produce a really, really good high-level action scene.
36:20And if it, what it takes is for me to act on it or star on it, then why not?
36:28So, ayun. That's it, Pepsters. Thank you so much, Lance, for sharing a lot about your journey.
36:34Ako, sana maraming mga na-inspire din for others na talaga to work hard and just to keep pursuing your dream, no?
36:42Tsaka ako looking forward sa next project ni Lance.
36:45Salamat.
36:45I want to see more of those action scenes talaga.
36:48Thank you, thank you.
36:49Ayan. So, you may now invite Pepsters, um, for your upcoming projects and where they can follow you on social media.
36:57Hi, Pepsters. Uh, I'm inviting everyone to watch, um, The Delivery Rider. Hopefully, this year.
