00:00Today we announced that the $200 million investment into the redevelopment will now be underway
00:16with the principal contractor Icon announced as well as a local firm who has a local presence
00:23here in the region and that's Lipman Pty Ltd.
00:26This is a fantastic, fantastic news for the community.
00:29This has been a long time coming, we've had challenges along the way.
00:33This hospital, a $200 million development, will increase emergency department capacity
00:38and importantly increase maternity services and additional birthing suites, importantly
00:44increase in paediatric care, mental health facility, the Panorama facility that's been
00:49temporarily relocated will be coming back in a new and enhanced way.
00:55This is an important investment for the people of the Central West and particularly the people
00:59of Bathurst and this has been a project that has been a long time coming and I acknowledge
01:04the great advocacy from many community leaders and many community members for this important project.
