In the second quarter of 2025, its sales volume grew over 7% year-over-year, outpacing Visa and Mastercard’s 6% growth. Chase’s average outstanding card balances rose 9% in the second quarter, and the bank aims to grow its share of outstanding card loans to 20% from 17%. Return on new card accounts acquired from 2022 to 2024 was about twice the acquisition cost. Overall revenue from card services and auto lending rose 15% in the second quarter to $6.9 billion.
