00:01Welcome to today's highlight reel of minor league baseball's brightest stars.
00:05It is quite understandable if you were preoccupied earlier in the day, but once the minor league games commenced,
00:11many baseballs were thrown that would never return to the pitchers who delivered them.
00:16In compiling a list of the standout players, there was initially a lack of notable performances,
00:21but some impressive hitters, including Kevin McGonagall from the Tigers and Carter Jensen from the Royals,
00:26along with a player from the Reds, managed to break through.
00:30On the other hand, it was a challenging evening for batters who faced two remarkable left-handed pitchers in AA.
00:37Regardless of whether you are 15, 22, or even born in 1989, this day will be one to remember.
00:44Carter Jensen, a catcher for Omaha and ranked as the second-best prospect in the Kansas City Royals organization
00:50and 70th overall in MLB, achieved a personal best in home runs during the 2025 season, and he did so impressively.
00:57The 22-year-old recorded his second game with multiple home runs since his promotion to AAA Omaha in late June.
01:04Additionally, his 5-RBI performance brought his total to 36 RBIs in just 39 games with the Storm Chasers,
01:11all while maintaining an impressive OPS of 1.044 at the highest level of the minor league's dot.
01:18With 19 home runs, he is currently tied with Jack Caglianoni for the highest number of home runs on the Royals' farm system.
01:25Additionally, he stands out as one of only three catchers in all of minor league baseball who have achieved at least 15 home runs and 10 stolen bases this season.
01:36Kevin McGonigal, a shortstop for Erie, has had an exceptional year in 2025.
01:41His recent highlight was a crucial two-run homer in the 11th inning for AA Erie, marking his seventh home run of the month.
01:47In that game, he also recorded a single and a walk, bringing his total to 18 games this season where he has reached base three or more times.
01:57Despite facing an ankle sprain that sidelined him for over a month,
02:00McGonigal, who was the 37th overall pick in the 2023 draft, has established himself as one of the top hitters in the minor leagues,
02:08boasting an impressive slash line of 3-2-4-slash-dot-4-2-8-slash-dot-6-0-4 across three levels.
02:16The 21-year-old entered the game with a weighted on-base average, Wobbe, of .460,
02:22the highest among all minor leaguers with at least 300 plate appearances this season.
02:28Bryce Eldridge, a first baseman for Sacramento, is also making a name for himself in the league.
02:32players at any level of professional baseball have the potential to hit home runs that are as impressive
02:38as those produced by Eldridge when he makes contact.
02:41As the top first base prospect in Major League Baseball, Eldridge recently hit a center-center changeup
02:47with remarkable power, sending the ball 431 feet at a speed of 106.2 miles per hour off the bat.
02:55This marked his eighth home run of the month while playing for AAA Sacramento.
02:59In August, he also achieved 24 RBIs, matching his personal best from August 2024 when he played
03:06for High A Eugene. During this period, he has recorded seven games with multiple hits.
03:12At just 20 years old, he is the second youngest player in the Pacific Coast League and boasts
03:17the second highest home run to fly ball ratio, 35%, among all players in the league who have had
03:23at least 200 plate appearances. Meanwhile, Angel Janow, a shortstop for Akron and ranked as
03:29the third best prospect in the Cleveland organization and 57th overall in MLB, has experienced a
03:35challenging year due to injuries. However, he recently found a silver lining by hitting his
03:40first professional Grand Slam while playing for AA Akron. The 21-year-old also contributed a single,
03:47bringing his total to six games with multiple hits this month and accumulating nine RBIs over his last
03:53nine games. Despite dealing with a right shoulder sprain that sidelined him for some time,
03:58Janow has shown resilience and skill on the field.Until late May, he has been one of the standout
04:03prospects for the Guardians in 2025, boasting an impressive batting average of .440, 11 for 25,
04:11with 10 RBIs in high-pressure situations. Justin Crawford, an outfielder for Lehigh Valley,
04:17and ranked as the third-best prospect in the Phillies organization, 68th overall in MLB,
04:23has been exceptionally productive this season at the AAA level.
04:27Despite being over five years younger than the average player in the International League,
04:31Crawford, the son of four-time All-Star Carl, has demonstrated remarkable hitting skills.
04:37Known for his exceptional speed rated at 75, he showcased his developing power during a game where
04:42he recorded three hits, including a two-run home run in the first inning. With a total of 138 hits
04:49in 106 games, he ranks fifth in the minor leagues, and his batting average of .331 places him third
04:55among all players who have played at AAA this year. Cam Collier, a third baseman for Chattanooga,
05:01and ranked sixth in the Reds organization, 98th overall in MLB, faced a setback due to a torn ulnar
05:08collateral ligament in his left thumb, which delayed his debut in 2025 until mid-May.
05:13Since returning, the power and overall offensive consistency that the 2022 first-round draft pick
05:19had previously displayed have been somewhat hindered. However, Collier recently hit his first home run of
05:26the season. A player from Chattanooga has recently hit a home run in AA and is currently enjoying a
05:32hitting streak that has reached seven games. At just 20 years old, he is one of the youngest
05:36participants in the Southern League, yet he has managed to achieve an impressive on-base percentage
05:41of .372. Throughout the season, he has played at three different levels and has maintained a batting
05:47average of .294, along with an OPS of .840 when facing right-handed pitchers, showcasing his skills
05:55developed at Chipola Junior College. Dax Kilby, a shortstop for Tampa in the New York Yankees organization,
06:01was a highly sought-after player, selected 39th overall in the 2025 draft. The Yankees were thrilled
06:08to acquire him, particularly because of his exceptional hitting abilities, which stand out
06:12among his peers from high school. After a challenging start to his professional career where he went 0 for
06:189, Kilby has turned things around since August 14. He recently delivered an outstanding performance for
06:24single-A Tampa, recording four hits, three RBIs, and two stolen bases. He's been on a stealing spree,
06:32successfully swiping at least one base in four straight games, bringing his total to eight
06:36stolen bases in just 10 games, all while maintaining a batting average of .308 and a .400 on-base
06:44percentage during this period. Rafael Flores, who plays both catcher and first base for Indianapolis,
06:50was a key player in the trade that sent the Pirates long-time closer away. At the trade deadline,
06:56the team made a significant move by acquiring Bednar. Following a productive month, the 24-year-old
07:02catcher had a standout performance, achieving his first multi-homer game of the season while playing
07:08for AAA Indianapolis. In the first inning, he faced former all-star Alec Manoa and hit a hanging slider
07:14for a home run to the pull side on the very first pitch. Later in the seventh inning, he was again
07:21aggressive, hitting a fastball to right center field on the first pitch. Flores, who went undrafted after
07:27playing at Rio Hondo Junior College in California, has now reached a total of 19 home runs and a career
07:33high 75 RBIs across three teams, and he's on track to achieve an OPS above .800 for the second
07:40consecutive year. Mitch Bratt, a left-handed pitcher from Amarillo, was part of the trade deadline deal
07:46that sent Merrill Kelly to the Rangers. Since joining AA Amarillo, Bratt delivered his best outing
07:52yet, striking out eight batters over seven innings while allowing two runs, one earned. He consistently
07:58challenged hitters with his fastball, which ranged from 91 to 93 mph, effectively targeting the upper part
08:06of the strike zone. Known for his control, Bratt has not issued any walks during this performance. In all
08:1221 of his starts this season, he has struck out more than two batters, resulting in an impressive
08:18KBB ratio of 135 19ths. This ratio, which stands at 7.11, is the second highest among all minor league
08:27pitchers who have thrown 70 or more innings. Charles Davilan, an outfielder for Rancho Cucamonga,
08:34has been making waves in the single A-league. Despite the common belief that hitting against
08:39professional pitchers is challenging, Davilan seems to be thriving, having achieved his third
08:44consecutive game with four hits. Selected as the 41st overall pick in the July draft, he has made a
08:50remarkable start to his professional career, boasting a batting line of 625-654-958 over his first
08:59five games. Hailing from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, a region that has yet to produce a major league
09:04player, he previously had a strong spring season at the University of Arkansas, where he hit .346 and
09:11recorded more walks, 35, than strikeouts, 27. This performance has led him to join the top-ranked
09:18farm system in MLB pipeline. Mitch Farris, a left-handed pitcher for Rocket City, has also made headlines by
09:24becoming the 13th player this season to achieve 13 or more strikeouts in a minor league game.
09:30The Southpaw's performance has been noteworthy, showcasing his potential on the mound,
09:35.Farris showcased an impressive performance, accumulating 21 swings and misses during his
09:40six-and-two-thirds scoreless innings pitched for AA Rocket City. At just 24 years old, he effectively
09:46utilized his complete array of pitches to confound hitters, achieving a personal best in strikeouts.
09:52After being traded from the Braves to the Angels this off-season in exchange for right-handed
09:57pitcher Davis Daniel, Farris has made a strong impression in his inaugural year within the
10:02Angels organization, currently leading the team with a total of 142 strikeouts.
10:07Who do you think has the most promising future in the majors among these rising talents?
