00:15They weren't going to cut guys who can play, even Kendrick Bourne.

00:18If you're an NFL player, and those guys are all NFL players,

00:21you hope Javon Baker is an NFL player.

00:24You hope Efton Chisholm is.

00:25You hope whatever, the pass rusher that they kept over Braden Swinson,

00:29and Ponder, you hope those guys are NFL players.

00:32Those are developmental guys.

00:33Bourne, NFL player.

00:35Duggar, NFL player.

00:36Jennings, NFL player.

00:38And they're not in the business, roster-wise, where they can cut good players,

00:43even if they're not a perfect scheme fit, even if they make too much money.

00:46You're not the Chiefs, the Eagles, the Lions.

00:50I know they had a down year last year, the 49ers.

00:52You're not one of those rosters.

00:54You need to keep all the quality players you can,

00:55and I think that's one of the things that maybe I got caught up in some of the news

01:00with guys getting demoted on the roster and playing deep into the preseason.

01:04They weren't going to cut quality NFL players.

01:06Yeah, I just thought, I don't know if they really did themselves any favors

01:09with playing Kyle Duggar in that last preseason game.

01:11I still find that a little bit odd because on the one you're showcasing him.

01:15It's like, no, you're not.

01:15You're putting him out there against all guys who are going to be cut.

01:19Like, the guys that he's playing with, the guys he's playing against are going to be cut.

01:22So it's not really showcasing him.

01:24It's more telling the league that we don't really want him.

01:26But I think it did come back down to, we're not loaded with talent.

01:30So even if he's not a starter, as soon as a starter goes down,

01:33who are you replacing him with?

01:35Del Pettis?

01:36Or you're bringing, hey, Brandon Schooler, you got to learn defense now?

01:39Although if they do that Longhorn package, didn't he have like two sacks this year?

01:42I mean, kind of like that.

01:43It was Caleb Williams.

01:44Everybody drags him down first.

01:45I do like that.

01:46But no, Kyle Duggar was in that spot where you and I both, never the biggest fan of Kyle Duggar.

01:53But then you look at this roster, it's not great.

01:55And then all the talk was, oh, they might just cut him or trade him for a bag of balls.

01:57You're like, why?

01:59You don't need to save money.

02:01Like, you don't need to do that.

02:02You have all the money in the world to spend.

02:03As long as he's not a problem in the locker room.

02:05And it doesn't seem like he is at all.

02:06I agree.

02:07It does not seem like he is.

02:08So as long as he's not a problem in the locker room, you're paying him either way.

02:10You're not in the spot in terms of a rebuild or in terms of turning it around from last year.

02:17You're not in a spot where you can cut quality.
