Homeless man admits murdering woman who let him stay in her west London flat with a mallet

00:00A homeless man has admitted killing a woman with a mallet days after she took him in.
00:0437-year-old Victoria Adams was found dead at her flat in Hammersmith on February 9th,
00:10after police were called to reports of a man attempting to break into the property in Coulter
00:14Road. She was found face down in a bedroom with a black bin bag over her head, which was covered
00:19by a pillow. Ms Adams had suffered at least 10 separate injuries to the back and side of the
00:24head from being struck with a blunt object, said to be a mallet found with her blood and DNA on it.
00:30Her attacker, 39-year-old Apapale Adum, was arrested at the scene. He had met her on February
00:35the 6th when he was living in a homeless shelter. She had invited him to stay with her, but later
00:40wrote a note to ask him to leave. Adum appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to murder.
