00:00The first time I went in, I took in our oldest son, I think it was around Halloween or something,
00:07because these kids had on like matching pumpkin outfits.
00:10There were like three little pumpkins and a mom checking out, and it looked like a day at Kroger.
00:16It just didn't feel like a charity.
00:18They had no idea that their parent was probably under some stress for financial reasons.
00:24There was a woman, everything was going fine until all of a sudden her mother got sick.
00:30She got sick, and, you know, like a couple different things happened.
00:33I think she lost her job, and all of a sudden everything went off the rails.
00:38She had always been able to provide food for her family, and all of a sudden like a couple different factors just threw her off balance,
00:46and she couldn't afford to pay for food anymore.
00:49She wound up getting hired at Vanderbilt and in a great job nursing her mother back to health
00:54and was able to provide food for her family again, but now she comes back and volunteers.
