WeRide launched Shenzhen’s first fully driverless Level 4 Robobus in partnership with Shenzhen Bus Group, according to Benzinga. The B888 line debuted in Luohu District as part of the city’s 45th anniversary celebration as China’s first Special Economic Zone. The route covers major landmarks and offers 30 to 35-minute rides. The Robobus is equipped with over 20 sensors, LiDAR, and HD cameras, enabling 360-degree perception and real-time traffic navigation. The launch aligns with Shenzhen’s “20+8” industrial cluster strategy to advance intelligent transportation. WeRide has operated Robobuses in nearly 30 global cities and plans to expand worldwide to accelerate the adoption of autonomous mobility solutions. WeRide’s shares have dropped over 32% this year as rising competition and the Trump administration’s rollback of federal EV credits intensify pressure on the sector and weaken investor sentiment.
