00:00You have to admit, it's pretty cute.
00:02This little octopus has been dubbed the Dumbo Octopus because of its adorable ears.
00:08But this creature is actually quite alien-like.
00:12Here's what's creepy about it.
00:14It lives in the deep sea.
00:16And just like Dumbo, it uses its ears to help it swim.
00:21These ears are actually modified appendages called Siri.
00:24They're used for sensing water movement and can be extended and retracted at will.
00:30But the most terrifying thing about this octopus is its beak.
00:34It's not your standard octopus beak.
00:36It's way bigger.
00:38It can open up to three inches, which is enough to fit a whole fist inside.
00:43And it uses that big beak to do one thing, to eat.
00:47This octopus is a predator, but it's not very picky.
00:51It'll eat almost anything that gets too close, including other octopuses.
00:56Now, thankfully, humans haven't found any of these Dumbo Octopuses in our waters yet.
01:03But if we did, we would definitely want to kill it.
01:07Because of its size, its strength, and its beak, this octopus could easily pose a threat to us.
01:14So, let's see.
