00:00Welcome back to Decentralized News. In today's video, I have an NFT project review of Society of the Hourglass, which is a collection of 8,888 historically themed NFT characters.
00:19It's on Ethereum and it actually is said to act more of as an entry point into an ecosystem that will eventually sort of encompass books, merchandise and an animated series for kids.
00:36So Society of the Hourglass is among one of the family focused NFT projects to actually emerge, hinting on how to market or how the market could actually evolve in the future.
00:49If you think about it, the NFT space has been more of an adult playground at this point, but I think the potential could be definitely even much more, much more of a bigger proposition if you're tapping into the kids market.
01:06But how would you do that because of all the compliance issues around promoting products to children?
01:15Let's find out what Society of the Hourglass is all about. Give us a like and a subscribe. I really appreciate you. Welcome to the channel.
01:23Make sure you also like and subscribe. Make sure you also follow the links in the description and don't forget to join our Telegram and our Discord server.
01:32So, you know, this is obviously not maybe the most exciting time to be talking about NFT projects with everything that's going on in the market at the moment.
01:45But it strikes me as quite an interesting project. So these guys are pretty much launching this ambitious project where, you know, they say that they want to also build on top of that an NFT series where, you know,
02:03all of these characters would be a part of, but the backbone of that series is actually much more of a themed offering that includes a whole lot of these other things like books and merchandise and things.
02:21So the first half of the collection has already been made available for minting across two initial chapters with the rest set to be rolled out in sort of two batches of 2,222 NFTs each.
02:35And most of the tokens represent minor personalities within the society of the hourglass ecosystem, but a few will actually represent the Shor's primary characters and the oponimous sort of society of the hourglass itself.
02:54And the team is sort of said to be including these historical figures such as Blackbeard, Nikola Tesla, John of Arc, Harriet Tubman.
03:11These are all characters that would be available as unique one-to-one NFTs, making them five of the sort of rarest pieces in that collection, including Saka Jowier.
03:25I hope I'm pronouncing that correctly. But of course, this just goes on to show that I'm not sure what kind of right deals these guys would have been doing as far as getting rights to be able to mint these NFTs with these characters.
03:43So it's an interesting one. I think you should look out for yourselves.
03:48I'm definitely not really into these types of NFT projects.
03:52So when I come across something like this, I just kind of like to read through, explore what the use cases are, because, I mean, these are the sort of things that would actually really be multifaceted in the terms of how you can merchandise and you can distribute and you can have that IP.
04:13And especially when you start to talk about cartoons and animations and that sort of thing, I think you'll see a lot of the mainstream entertainment kids media brands start to kind of either do collabs or try to infiltrate this market.
04:30It might not be one of those exciting things for a lot of us or into crypto right now.
04:36But I think if you're thinking about where the investments are going to be or where the long term potential is, you have to think about the commercial viability of these projects, especially in a time where the steam is kind of run dry.
04:53When you think about just the overall interest in NFT projects currently.
04:59So let me know what your thoughts are.
