Netflix Builds ‘Gray Man’ Metaverse Experience in Decentraland

00:00welcome back to decentralized news so today's news story is a very fascinating one the netflix

00:07company is said to be building the gray man a metaverse experience within decentraland

00:15so this actually means that decentraland users will be able to um leave a scene from netflix

00:23new action movie which is titled the gray man and they can do this from inside the metaverse and

00:31this collaboration between netflix latin america division and the electric factory has also

00:39uh the backing of the central land foundation and it's described as a sort of a exploratory process

00:48uh and uh the electric um sort of factory said you know they're just trying to see kind of uh what

00:56these uh use cases of nfts or the metaverse um it can be when they're really tied to real world um

01:07releases so streaming giant netflix uh is actually touched down in the decentraland metaverse and

01:15they have two main purposes so before you do that uh or we dive into that just give us a like and

01:41uh so let's start with the gray man the gray man is uh featuring uh ryan gosling and uh chris evans and

01:50you know sort of hard to explore new interactive ways that a brand can actually connect with the fans

01:56virtually so this is just a way to um see how far you know this spin will uh sort of be able to uh

02:07promote the project of course uh netflix are trying to figure this out and the fair you mean the actual

02:13film itself is actually described more of a spy thriller and uh netflix uh 45 past with the central

02:20land activation is uh sort of uh considered a metaverse mission and they recreated a landscape

02:27from the movie which is a labyrinth uh that users must navigate by uh sort of approving their knowledge

02:34about the movie's uh plot along the way and block uh works uh which is a publication also um spoke to

02:43them about that experience i think one of the art directors did say that um um upon you know sort

02:51of uh getting into the metaverse into the into the maze itself uh users are actually able to hear the

02:56films uh original music and uh the uh protagonist uh ryan gosling's uh instruction video for this

03:05so in partnership with the netflix latin america they are saying that um decentraland is finding the

03:12best way to access the metaverse by uh sort of replicating the actual scenes from movies this is

03:19supposed to not only attract those who've already seen the movie but also boost the users that happen to

03:23be in the central land playing in the maze and at the end of the day they actually want to watch the

03:29movie since you know for you to sort of uh navigate uh that metaverse you kind of have to uh be a bit

03:36of uh in the know of what is going on within the plot so um this is obviously following a month-long

03:42experiment um for the big brand uh entering uh the metaverse by renting out virtual land for a short

03:50period of time uh you know for this specific project and then um you know just making sure

03:56they do their advertising in there instead of actually just purchasing the actual uh land itself

04:02uh permanently so according to the company they said they're also having to um sort of consider

04:09this huge advantage since uh they just still want to pretty much understand how the metaverse works

04:16how interactions within a metaverse would actually work he also added that you know they just want to

04:20bring up uh uh or insert that little extra element of fun so in its first week the central land says

04:27it actually saw about 2 000 users go through the maze so getting people from the ecosystem to actually

04:34explore this metaverse once users actually reach the fountain at the center and unlock a secret room

04:40they are able to connect their crypto wallets and record their competition time so the fastest time

04:46logged at the time of the demo was actually 13 seconds and users can also sort of select rewards like

04:52a free uh wearable for their avatar uh which is uh immediately added to their wallets as well

04:58and the choices also include signature looks uh of our three main agents uh sierra six uh six sixes

05:06jacket lloyd's mustache and polisher and miranda's blazer and bob so you're looking at all of these

05:12digital collectibles and brands and companies are obviously trying to find ways to best leverage this

05:17blockchain to interact with customers and uh this is an opportunity that obviously is being presented

05:23by web3 in a real way to sort of our boost um engagement while also just sort of creating more

05:30immersive storytelling uh storytelling and uh they're saying that there's quite a lot of room for

05:36improvement when in terms when it comes to actually just onboarding people or users into the metaverse

05:41and uh you know they just think that there's quite a lot of uh um potential within these virtual

05:47worlds the central land is also just kind of our home to other brands as well we've seen nike samsung

05:53coca-cola and the platform also hosted the metaverse fashion week we are fashion brands and

05:59houses like dosha and gabbana actually did host like catwalks to show their uh latest uh wearables

06:06as well so this is quite an interesting uh development i feel like uh there's a lot of

06:12companies now huge companies that are really like looking and investing and looking into

06:17like how these technologies work how can they be integrated into a real world to bring more uh sort

06:22of user-friendly experiences and kind of like harvest that real value of the underlying technologies

06:29themselves so this is quite interesting i think this is a bullish move in terms of uh what we're

06:34seeing the metaverse develop to be the uh sort of uh the next trajectory of what we might see uh with

06:41the next phase maybe in the next wave of uh nfts and digital collectibles that people are going to be

06:47wanting to hold just because then they can get into these different metaverses and uh sort of uh
