00:03So Wakefield was historically known as a merry city because of the amount of pubs in the city centre.
00:09And what's happening here today at the Merry Festival?
00:13So what's happening today and over the past three days we've been having local acts and celebrating what's known as the merry city of Wakefield.
00:20So we've got local artists, local acts, local businesses and a lot of things for kids to do.
00:25And what's Wakefield like these days? What's good about it?
00:28Wakefield's got a lot of independent traders, it's got loads of great restaurants and cafes, a lot of charity shops if you like charity shopping like most people do nowadays, it's a great place to go.
