00:30No, I mean, it's kind of weird to say, but, you know, I'm very happy, and it was a great run.
00:39I did a great thing on court, and I went until what I could achieve, you know.
00:46Obviously, you can always achieve more, and I was dreaming of achieving more,
00:50but I'm very happy to end in peace with my decision to move forward with my life
00:56and close the chapter of being a tennis player.
01:00What were some of the things that led you to this decision?
01:04I think it's many things, you know.
01:08It's like the last couple of years for me were hard, were tricky and kind of dark,
01:14and I was able to pass them, to learn a lot, and I almost left last year by hitting tennis,
01:23and I thought it was the worst sport out there, but I did a lot of work on myself
01:29to understand what was going on and, yeah, do one more season, leave it my own way
01:37and building, again, my love for the sport and my passion for tennis.
01:43And, you know, at one point competing and everything it takes to be at the top,
01:47I was, I didn't want to do it, I couldn't handle it anymore, but I still love tennis.
01:53You have a popular podcast.
01:54Yeah.
01:55And how do you see your future in the sport that you love?
01:59Yeah, I think I want to keep going the podcast, obviously.
02:03You know, it's little by little, it's growing,
02:05and we believe we are doing some good things and giving back, sharing tips,
02:12sharing behind the scenes, sharing tips from the best players and coaches,
02:16and if it can help some young players out there, like,
02:19it would be the best reward that I could get.
02:22And, yeah, now I see a future for myself in tennis,
02:25and 12 months ago it was not the case.
02:28Thank you.
02:30Amy Berg, USOpen.org.
02:32What is next for you in the, you know, next week and then in the next six months?
02:37Ooh, next week, yeah.
02:38You've got to give me some time, you know.
02:41Not much planned.
02:43We have a wonderful wedding of my brother-in-law to attend,
02:47so some great emotions, more emotions.
02:50But not much, you know.
02:52We want to enjoy a bit, relax, stay in one place,
02:56and get out all the things from the suitcase for once
03:01and just.
