At an executive order signing event at the Oval Office on Monday, President Trump was asked about a potential military deployment to Chicago.

00:03Do you have some questions?

00:04Mr. President, is the Pentagon, and maybe the Secretary of Defense can weigh in too,

00:07is the Pentagon preparing for military deployment to Chicago?

00:10And with what you said there, are you waiting for the governor there?

00:14We're ready to go anywhere.

00:15We have a full complement of great human beings.

00:21We're full.

00:22You know, our military is full.

00:24We were way empty one year ago.

00:27Now we're full.

00:28So we can go anywhere on less than 24 hours notice.

00:32Are you waiting for the governor?

00:33And we're doing a lot to interdict, to stop drugs from coming in too.

00:36We have ships out on sea.

00:39You know, we have nobody coming through our border anymore.

00:41Nobody.

00:41Doesn't that feel good to know that you don't have prisoners coming in and,

00:46you know, killers, murderers?

00:47We had 11,888 murderers come in, led in by the Biden administration.

00:53Many of them have been captured.

00:54But we still have a couple of thousand that are out there.

00:58Some of them, 50% of them killed more than one person.

01:02But a lot of them have been captured.

01:04What they've done to our country, these people that circle this, this moron that we had behind

01:10this desk, what they've done to our country is unthinkable.

01:15I mean, if you think, so much of our time is devoted to correcting a problem that all they

01:21had to do is say, close the borders.

01:23Remember when he said, well, I have no power to close the borders.

01:26I have to go back and get an act from Congress.

01:27I didn't get an act from Congress.

01:29I came in, I said, close the borders.

01:31And Tom Holman, who's not here, has been fantastic, Christy, right?

01:37He's a fantastic man and respected by everybody.

01:40But I said, Tom, close the borders.

01:42Christy, close the borders.

01:44The borders were closed.

01:45We didn't go to Congress and get permission.

01:48We just closed the borders.

01:49And in the last three months, hard to believe this one, too.

01:53In the last three months, we've had zero people come into our country illegally through

01:58the southern border.

02:00Nobody would have said that's possible.
