00:00Flag burning.
00:01All over the country, they're burning flags.
00:04All over the world, they burn the American flag.
00:07And as you know, through a very sad court,
00:11I guess it was a five to four decision,
00:13they called it freedom of speech.
00:15But there's another reason, which is perhaps
00:17much more important, it's called death.
00:19But when you burn the American flag,
00:21it incites riots at levels that we've never seen before.
00:25People go crazy.
00:27If you burn a flag, you get one year in jail,
00:30no early exits, no nothing,
00:34and you will see flag burning stopping immediately,
00:36just like when I signed the statute and Monument Act.
00:39Lastly, sir, this is an executive order on flag burning.
00:42It charges your attorney general.
00:44Would you listen to this?
00:44This is a very important.
00:46Flag burning.
00:47All over the country, they're burning flags.
00:50All over the world, they burn the American flag.
00:53And as you know, through a very sad court,
00:57I guess it was a five to four decision.
00:59They called it freedom of speech.
01:01But there's another reason, which is perhaps much more important.
01:04It's called death.
01:05Because what happens when you burn a flag
01:09is the area goes crazy.
01:11If you have hundreds of people, they go crazy.
01:13You could do other things.
01:15You can burn this piece of paper.
01:16You can, and it's, but when you burn the American flag,
01:20it incites riots at levels that we've never seen before.
01:24People go crazy.
01:26In a way, both ways.
01:28There are some that are going crazy for doing it.
01:30There are others that are angry,
01:32angry about them doing it.
01:35Do you want to discuss that?
01:36Sure.
01:36What the executive order does, sir,
01:38it charges your Department of Justice
01:40with investigating instances of flag burning.
01:42And then where there's evidence of criminal activity,
01:46where prosecution wouldn't fall afoul of the First Amendment
01:49and instructs the Department of Justice
01:50to prosecute those who are engaged
01:53in these instances of flag burning.
01:55And what the penalty is going to be,
01:57if you burn a flag, you get one year in jail,
02:01no early exits, no nothing.
02:04You get one year in jail.
02:05If you burn a flag, you get,
02:07and what it does is incite to riot.
02:09I hope they use that language, by the way.
02:11Did they?
02:11In sight to riot.
02:12In sight to riot.
02:14And you burn a flag, you get one year in jail.
02:16You don't get 10 years, you don't get one month.
02:18You get one year in jail, and it goes on your record.
02:22And you will see flag burning stopping immediately,
02:24just like when I signed the Statute and Monument Act.
02:28Ten years in jail, have you heard any
02:30of our beautiful monuments?
02:31Everybody left town.
02:33They were gone.
02:34Never had a problem after that.
02:35It's pretty amazing we stopped it.
02:38But this is something that's, I don't know,
02:40in a certain way it's equally as important.
02:43Some people would say it's more important.
02:45Because the people in this country don't want to see
02:47our American flag burned and spit on.
02:51And by people that are, in many cases, paid agitators.
02:56They're paid by the radical left to do it.
02:59You talk to these people, they don't even know,
03:00half of them don't even know what they're doing.
03:02They say, I don't know, they gave me money to do this.
03:06I see the same things that you do.
03:07They're bad people.
03:08They're trying to destroy our nation.
03:10That's not working.
03:10Because I think our nation now is the most respected nation
03:14anywhere in the world, by far.
03:16You saw that with the European leaders on Friday.
03:20You saw that with NATO, where they agreed to go from 2 percent,
03:23no pay, to 5 percent fully paid up, trillions of dollars paid,
03:28where they respect your president to a level that
03:31they jokingly call me the president of Europe.
03:34They call me the president of Europe, which is an honor.
03:36I like Europe and I like those people.
03:38They're good people.
03:39They're great leaders.
03:40And we've never had a case where seven plus, really, 28,
03:46essentially 35, 38 countries were represented here the other day.
03:50Thirty-eight European countries were represented.
03:53European and other countries were represented.
03:56And it was a great meeting.
03:57But your country is respected again.
04:00I say it all the time.
04:02One year ago, our country was dead.
04:05Everybody said it.
04:06We had a dead country.
04:08We were not going to survive.
04:09Now we have the hottest country anywhere in the world.
04:12So it's an honor to be involved.
04:14And this group has a lot to do with it, right behind me.
