00:00all right perfect good morning good morning Mrs. Good my name is I am a teacher at Civil
00:07Magnet High School and I'm very concerned as to what the Democratic Party needs to do
00:16in order to get this gentleman and I use the term Lucy out of the White House
00:21because it seems to me that everything that the Democratic Party has tried to do
00:32up to this point including this morning has failed and your comment about him staying past the four
00:40years that you're not going to allow to do to me doesn't sound too promising because he's stacking
00:48everything for him including the Supreme Court so my question is who is our democratic leader that
00:57we are going to go ahead and put out the ground and try to move against this person so we can
01:03defeat him in the elections if we ever have elections and believe me I feel the same anxiety that you
01:12feel and the same frustration rage despondence all of that let me let me tell you first as
01:21someone who was a part of the first impeachment I helped impeach him I served on the house judiciary
01:30committee and we went through impeachment number one impeachment number two didn't go through my
01:38committee but I obviously voted in favor of impeachment when it got to the house we couldn't
01:45get the number of republicans needed to ensure that he was convicted had that happened he could have
01:55never served another term again and Mitch McConnell led the way in saying this is an issue for the criminal
02:04courts it's not an issue for the senate which is a lie it was an issue for us to take up
02:11we keep we are in the minority the american voter turned over the keys to the house to republicans turned
02:19over the keys to the senate to republicans turned over the white house to republicans in our community
02:26so we we have an issue here as well in my view I can't talk too much about politics because this
02:42is an official or elections rather this is an official event but I will tell you when you ask who is our leader
02:49leader this is a leader this is going to sound hokey but the leaders are in this room
02:57we too often look for one person to save us we too often we look for one person to have all the answers we
03:08look for one person to do the work that needs to be done to save the country we are in a position right now
03:16where each one of us has to lead in our own way talking to friends and neighbors making sure we are
03:24accessing accurate information and not part of the problem of sharing misinformation or disinformation
03:33making sure that you are influencing the people around you you know the the in the last election
03:41not to talk partisanship you know because i've got their rules about how i talk about elections so i'm
03:47going to follow those rules but in the last election i can tell you i traveled across the country
03:54i was in nevada i was in arizona i was in pennsylvania i was in georgia i was in wisconsin i'm talking to
04:02voters i would say 90 percent of those voters i talked to do not read the newspaper to get their news
04:11get their news from social media from tick tock from instagram from youtube from facebook and are
04:20influenced by others so what are we each doing to influence the people around us what are we each
04:30doing to share information with the people around us what are we each doing to ensure that people do not
04:40sit out elections the turnout in el paso in november was abysmal and as someone who like knocks on doors
04:51and goes into neighborhoods into the you know in the hot sun in the cold weather in the rain there's not
04:57very many people who do that and so i i am all in on finding a great leader i want an inspirational great
05:06leader but i also know the burden and the responsibility of saving our democracy falls
05:13certainly on me and i i will be tireless and have been tireless in that effort but it also falls on the
05:21shoulders of each and every one of us thank you sir
05:32you
