00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. may be the last of the baby boomers, but his dedication to uplift the lives of his countrymen and courage to make tough decisions like standing up to a military superpower, transcend caste, greed and political persuasion and the generational divide, no better proof of this than a group of youth who backs him up on his unyielding West Philippine Sea policy and took to the Chinese embassy for protest action as our J.M. Pineda narrates in the show.
00:30Two incidents of bullying by China against Philippine vessels in the West Philippine Sea were reported this August. Among these was the aggressive tailing of the Philippine Coast Guard or PCG vessel by the China Coast Guard or CCG and the PLA Navy, which even led to a collision between two Chinese vessels.
00:51This was followed by the use of water cannons by the CCG against the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR vessel BRP Dato Sumcad.
01:00These dangerous actions by China are seen as provocations that could trigger tensions in the West Philippine Sea.
01:06Still, the government stands firm that there will be no change in the Philippines' position on its rights within its own territory.
01:12Wala, wala. To change our stance will be to the grave detriment of our national interest. That is something nobody can do under our Constitution and our moral obligation.
01:29Obligasyon natin sa taong bayan. Hindi pwede magpalit. At kaya matinli rin ang salita ni Presidente, hindi talaga tayo pwede. Kumumpromiso ng national interest natin.
01:41This stand is supported by a youth group from Bulakar. Coinciding with the celebration of National Heroes Day, the group held a protest rally in front of the Chinese embassy in Makati.
01:51They staged a noise barrage at the embassy and laid down on the streets to show the condemnation of China's aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea.
01:59They also smashed and destroyed a replica of a Chinese PLA Navy and CCG ship.
02:16Carrying placards, they expressed support to President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. on standing firm in continuously defending the country's territory.
02:43The group also expressed satisfaction with the actions and decisions of the President in protecting the West Philippine Sea.
02:49Our President is still doing his best para protectahan yung atin sa mga susunod na henerasyon pa is makita pa rin ng West Philippine Sea as part of the Philippines.
03:00With a patriotic spirit, love of country and courage, the youth group showed their willingness to act.
03:05But they also called on China to choose peace over war.
03:09They further urged China not to disregard international law and to respect the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS,
03:17which affirms that the West Philippine Sea is part of Philippine territory.
03:21This is Sharm Zespina from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
