Former Miss World TT representative Ache Abrahams, is alleging that she suffered mental and verbal abuse, meted out by an unidentified pageant official. Miss World Trinidad and Tobago has responded. Rynessa Cutting has more.

00:16shocking allegations from the former miss world tnt representative asha abrahams who in a youtube video leveled accusations of mental and emotional abuse said to be perpetrated by a miss world tnt official i can't agree with it especially the fact that you are profiting off my hard work off me but yet telling me that i'm not enough and i'm everything about me is wrong
00:45abrahams who copped the title of miss world caribbean at the pageant in 2024 describes her experience as traumatic i've literally been severely depressed i've had anxiety through the roof i've been to the point of suicidal ideation in my life when i was younger but that year and a half plus was probably the toughest time period i've ever had in my life and that says enough
01:11she says the entire ordeal has left her as a shell of herself i will never ever ever do another pageant so i'm sorry to disappoint anybody because i know you guys still ask me are you gonna do this pageant are you gonna do it i'm not and it's not i don't know how they work maybe they're completely different
01:33i don't know but from my experience i left as a shell of myself completely in debt financially having to uh support myself for yana uh eight however long year and a half plus um i left feeling less confident i had to rebuild myself and literally invest
01:57invest in my health and mental health if this is a developmental program and about women empowerment i should not be leaving feeling less than and feeling disempowered
02:07in response the miss world trinidad and tobago organization says while it respects the individual experiences and perspectives of all former title holders it wishes to reaffirm the values and principles of the miss world title and franchise as a platform of purpose empowerment and representation it says the crown is not only a symbol of beauty but of service resilience and inspiration
