Nvidia has asked component suppliers to suspend production of its H20 AI chip designed for China, according to Reuters. The company instructed Amkor Technology to halt packaging of the chip and also notified Samsung Electronics, which supplies high-bandwidth memory. Nvidia said it continually manages its supply chain to adapt to market conditions and emphasized that H20 is not a military or government product. The suspension follows reports that Chinese regulators summoned firms such as Tencent and ByteDance over their purchases of the chip, citing information security concerns.
