00:00The Powerball jackpot is climbing. It's now at a whopping $700 million after no one matched all the numbers in Wednesday night's drawing.
00:10And as the pot grows, ticket sales likely will as well. They're up about 40% from this time last year, according to the Multistate Lottery Association.
00:19Still, your odds of winning haven't changed. They stand at just 1 in 292 million.
00:24If someone wins Saturday night, they'll have a choice. The full jackpot payout in 30 installments over 29 years or a one-time cash payout of roughly $316 million.
00:37For perspective, the largest lottery jackpot ever topped $2 billion in 2022 with a single ticket taking it all.
00:46The next Powerball drawing is Saturday at 10.59 p.m. Eastern Time.
00:51That'll do it for your daily briefing. From the New York Stock Exchange, I'm Caroline Woods with The Street.
