00:00next question we had a couple hands back here but but
00:07okay we got a school back there okay let's give them a microphone my name is Virgil Garrett thank
00:18you what mr. vice president of course thank you I'm here with the Central Educational Center CCS
00:22TV the CEC is a college and career academy focused on training high school students to
00:27inter-technical and trade industries can you tell us how the big beautiful bill will impact us and
00:32our prospective jobs and also housing administration focusing on schools like ours so tell tell me is it
00:39what you say your name is Virgil what Virgil tell me a little bit more about your school
00:43Central Educational Center we have classes focusing on trade and other industries we have audio video
00:51aviation cosmetology dentistry and students got it yeah okay thank you he asked me Virgil he asked
00:59me to comment on the school I figured I should learn a little bit about it I should learn a little bit
01:04about it before I before I commented on it but I appreciate the clarification there I mean our
01:09proposal and our principle in the Trump administration is quite simple we want Americans to be able to
01:15pursue their American dream whether that means going to a trade school or going to a four-year
01:20education going to the military we want to give you as many options as possible and what happened
01:25for a long time in this country is that you had both parties both sets of leaders saying no no no
01:31the only pathway that we're going to fund the only pathway we're going to help you with is if you want
01:37to get a four-year degree if you want to get a four-year degree great but if you want to be a plumber or
01:41an electrician or a pipe fitter your government ought to fight for you too and that's exactly what we
01:46want to make it happen and I do you know Virgil part of that is policy part of that is making sure
01:57that things like Pell grants and other federal benefits they don't pick and choose they don't
02:01discriminate against our our great trade schools but part of that is leadership and I think it's
02:06important for those of us who are in positions of leadership to say that you know there are so many
02:11great careers so many great careers that require to use your hands and your head at the same time
02:16where you can earn a great living you can build something great for for your your fellow citizens
02:21and people in your community we're not going to have enough housing we're not going to have plumbing
02:26that works we're not going to have lights that turn on unless we've got enough people going into
02:30our trade schools we're going to have more kids doing it more young people doing it because they're
02:35the ones building the American dream of home ownership they're the ones building the future and we're
02:39going to fight for you every step of the way thank you for your question Virgil
