00:00Welcome everyone to Truth Entrance. Today's question, should we really obey elders blindly
00:14just because they are older? Sonia, in India, respecting elders is part of our culture.
00:20From childhood we are told, listen to your elders, they know best. But does age always
00:25guarantee wisdom? Exactly. The tradition comes from ancient times. Elders used to be knowledge
00:30keepers, storytellers, problem solvers. Respecting them made sense. True. But today, situations are
00:37different. Sometimes elders give advice based on outdated thinking, career choices, marriage
00:43decisions, even personal freedom. Should youth blindly follow that? Many youngsters feel trapped.
00:49If they disagree with elders, they are labelled arrogant or disrespectful. It's more about fear
00:56of society than genuine respect. And the irony is, religion is often used to strengthen disobedience.
01:02God will bless you if you obey. So questioning becomes almost a sin. But questioning is not
01:08disrespect. If an elder says something unfair, like stopping a girl from studying, should silence be
01:14called respect? Exactly. Respect should mean listening politely, considering their experience,
01:20but also having the courage to say, I disagree when needed. The truth is, real respect is earned
01:26by kindness, wisdom and fairness, not just by number of years lived. And when elders truly guide with
01:33love, youth naturally respect them without being forced. That's the difference between respect and fear.
01:39So the message is simple. Age deserves care. Wisdom deserves respect. Blind obedience helps
01:45no one. Well said Sonia. Respect should unite generations, not silence one of them.
01:50Jai Hind. Jai Hind.
