00:00David, obviously it is the first Premier League game at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
00:04How does it feel now that it's finally here?
00:05Has there been a change to the routine this week as well?
00:07Like training up there a little bit more?
00:09No, we've not trained up there this week.
00:11We've tried to put best use to our time as we can at the training ground.
00:16But we're all really looking forward to the new stadium.
00:18It's been something which has been in the horizon for so long and it's now here.
00:23So a big moment for everybody.
00:26We've had the chance to be down a couple of times already.
00:28So we hope we can get used to it as quickly as we can.
00:31Everybody knows that a new stadium is never that easy.
00:34But something we're all really excited about having now.
00:38After all your time working with Bill Kenwright during your first spell here
00:41and all the talk then of a new home,
00:42what personal pride is there that it's you going to be leading Everton into that new home?
00:47Well, I think Bill would probably take more pride than MD.
00:49I think Bill would have, if I'm saying so,
00:51I think Bill would have hoped to add him in the one who took them out of the new stadium.
00:55It's really sad that he's not here
00:56because he put so much effort into it
00:58and probably come under an awful lot of criticism
01:00at different times as well for many things.
01:02But you have to say that they've got to a point
01:06where Evertonians have now got a new stadium.
01:08It'll be with us hopefully for the next 100, 100, 200 years.
01:11Who knows how long the new stadium will be with us.
01:16So for many generations, you know,
01:18they've got a lot to be thankful for
01:19and Bill Kenwright plays a big part in getting it going.
01:22Do you see it as something fitting in your own story with the football club?
01:26Well, I think in some ways it does
01:28because, you know, to be at any one club in the first period
01:31for 11 and a half years takes some doing in any level of football.
01:35I've said many times there's a few big managers
01:39who've managed clubs for long, long times.
01:41But when you get to that sort of level,
01:43it's very difficult to stay that long at one club.
01:46I've had a great affiliation with Everton over the years
01:48and I'm very fortunate to be back
01:51and it just happens to be I'm back in time for the new stadium.
01:55You know, it could have easily been other great managers
01:58who've managed at this club.
01:59But I feel that, you know,
02:03maybe it was written in the stars in some way
02:04that I would get the opportunity to do so.
