Could a single meeting between Zelensky and Putin end the war in Ukraine? Donald Trump thinks so — but the Kremlin isn’t on the same page. Despite Putin telling Trump he's “open” to talks, Russian officials quickly pulled back. Zelensky is willing to meet “in any format,” but Russia’s conditions — including a demand for regime change — make peace a distant goal. Meanwhile, the war continues on the ground, and Europe is growing more doubtful by the day.

00:00Could peace in Ukraine be one handshake away?
00:03Not quite yet.
00:04This week, Donald Trump renewed his call for a face-to-face meeting between Ukraine's
00:08Zelensky and Russia's Putin.
00:11But the Kremlin isn't exactly jumping at the idea.
00:14While Putin told Trump he's open to talks, his foreign minister quickly backpedaled,
00:19saying any summit must start from the expert level.
00:22That's diplomatic code for don't hold your breath.
00:26Trump, once eager to broker a three-way summit, now wants to step back and let the two leaders
00:31talk alone.
00:32But here's the twist.
00:34Putin reportedly suggested Zelensky come to Moscow.
00:37Ukraine obviously said no.
00:40Why?
00:41Because Putin still calls Zelensky a clown and insists peace means regime change in Kyiv.
00:46Meanwhile, the war rages on.
00:49Russia struck a gas station in Odessa and hit civilians in Sumy.
00:53And although European leaders like Macron and Finland's president push for diplomacy,
00:57they don't trust Putin one bit.
00:59So what's next?
01:01More talks.
01:02More doubt.
01:03And maybe, just maybe, a small step toward peace, if both sides ever truly want it.
