00:00Israel is weighing up Hamas' latest position on a Gaza ceasefire deal.
00:06According to mediators, this is effectively the same deal that the group rejected in July.
00:12Prime Minister Netanyahu says Hamas' revised position is a clear sign the group is under intense pressure.
00:20Shukhi, let me start with you.
00:22Should Prime Minister Netanyahu take this deal?
00:26It's a very difficult question because, on one hand, these early terms and the company's decision for ending the war
00:35and having a deal with Hamas is a complete and an hour in the Hamas militia
00:43and full capability of Israel to control the borders,
00:50and, which is the most important thing, actually taking Hamas off power in Gaza
00:57and putting there another power, maybe international or Arabic power,
01:02that will take over Gaza and rule Gaza instead of Hamas.
01:07For now, it seems that Hamas is rejecting these terms,
01:11and then Netanyahu have a very difficult deal.
01:14On one hand, the possibility of releasing half of the live hostages
01:21and some bodies that Hamas take over
01:26and also going to a ceasefire that will give Hamas the ability to gain power
01:35and to actually strengthen themselves toward another round of violence against Israel.
01:41But this is a deal that Israel agreed to in July.
01:47Why would it not agree to it again now?
01:51As time passes, Israel is realizing that Hamas is under pressure
01:55and the streets to take over Gaza and to invade Gaza
02:00and to actually take over the entire Gaza Strip under Israel control.
02:06It's a serious threat toward Hamas.
02:11And also, there is always a risk that we lose the rest of the hostages
02:17if we now agree to a partial deal that will bring home only part of them.
