The mission The Heart of the City features a deployment in the Oakridge City shopping mall. It’s a demanding scenario for the player and the team. The fire breaks out in the middle of the day, while many people are still inside the building. Not everyone manages to escape in time, making rescue operations the top priority. Unconscious persons and people stranded on the roof must be brought to safety. The raging fire poses a major challenge as well: due to electrical and grease fires, different extinguishing methods must be used. 00:00Hello, my name is Sandra and I'm one of the programmers on Firefighting Simulator

00:06Ignite. In this game we are stepping into the boots of a four-player

00:12firefighting crew in the fictional Midwest US city called Oak Ridge. Today

00:20we would like to have a closer look at a typical mission that awaits you in

00:24Firefighting Simulator Ignite. This is a main mission during your career and

00:31will take around 45 minutes to complete. In the interest of time we have to make

00:36some cuts here and there. The team got alerted at the fire station and we are

00:42driving to the incident scene with the Rosenbauer T-Rex. It is a great aerial

00:49truck and it allows us maximum flexibility on-site. It will also be

00:53important to access the roof at the shopping mall later.

01:23We've got a nasty fire spread, lots of flammables and people that put their

01:27trust in us. I know it's in the right place. Good luck. In order to complete this

01:33emergency situation coordination and communication are key. You not only need to

01:40put the fire out before it spreads uncontrollably, you also need to ventilate,

01:44save trapped victims and always stay alert for perilous dangers along the way.

01:51After we saw several details of this mission in the situation report, it is now

01:56time to move into action. Several people fled to the terrace and we can rescue

02:04them with a ladder before the fire reaches the trapped civilians. You can pick up

02:10injured or unconscious victims and carry them to paramedics waiting. For the roof the

02:16ladders are not high enough and that's why we should prepare the Rosenbauer T-Rex aerial.

02:23First thing we want to do is extend the supports to have maximum stability to

02:27operate it safely. We need roof access not only for ventilation but also to

02:33rescue the two trapped civilians who haven't got any alternative as the

02:38elevators are out of service. We need to rescue them one by one while maintaining a

02:43safe operation. You are always playing as a team of four either with your

02:49friends or with AI controlled NPCs. Now it's time to deal with the raging fire

02:55inside. Therefore we connect an attack line with the T-Rex aerial. Our NPC

03:03colleagues have already made sure that it's connected with a hydrant to offer a

03:07stable water supply. There is another victim. We should rescue her first before

03:13moving on. On the way out we spotted a fuse box. It is always important to

03:19deactivate the electricity as it causes electrical fires. As we now further

03:25explore the site we discover more victims that need to be rescued. You can always

03:31check the number of people that are safe and also the ones that still need to be

03:36safe in the upper left screen corner. While the other team members focus on the

03:40rescue we will start firefighting. One of our team members deployed an attack line

03:46on the roof which we can now use to fight the flames.

03:52Thankfully our crew already used the circular saw to open up segments of the

03:57roof for ventilation. This is important because it helps to get the hot smoke out

04:03of the building and thus helps to reduce fire spread but also increases the

04:08visibility inside the building.

04:33before we move further inside to the origin of the fire the fryer in the

04:48restaurant kitchen we should switch the extinguishing agent to foam as we need

04:52to tackle a liquid fire. Water alone wouldn't help here it would make things

04:57even worse.

05:03If you look closely the floor is soaked with burning frying oil that we need to

05:08tackle before we can get to the actual fryer.

05:27There we need to work with a wet chemical fire extinguisher to prevent the grease from

05:41reigniting itself again. Never use water or foam there as it only fuels the raging

05:47flames and can even cause explosions when combined.

05:52The fire origin has been tackled but we need to make sure all fires are properly

06:03extinguished before the mission is completed. The hardware store still needs

06:07and some more water.

06:35Once the visible flames are out you can always check for hidden fires and heat

06:40sources that could reignite with the thermal view tool. This hypo tool can also help you

06:46navigate through smoke when fighting fires.

06:50It's an awkward 우리가 test the fire inside the fire in front of the vehicle.

06:57This is video on the wall, but now it will still be done.

07:03I can't do anything with this.

07:06It will be made possible by the speed of fire.

07:09The crew successfully managed to contain the fire.

07:30All of us can now head back to the station.
