00:00All right, you might already be sitting on hundreds of dollars in cash with your photos and videos you already have.
00:09So let's turn that into cash with Microstock.
00:12So what the heck is it? I'm going to give you 10 tips.
00:15Microstock is posting pictures, videos, illustrations, even AI art nowadays.
00:23People can earn money from them.
00:25And the reason I do it, it's a lot of fun. I've had so much fun doing this.
00:30And you can earn some extra money too, okay?
00:33So let's talk about ways that we can make the most money from this, do the least amount of work, and have the most fun, okay?
00:40Okay, let's talk about that.
00:42So number one thing when it comes to Microstock, the biggest pain is all the stupid micro tags and the data you have to put into these platforms.
00:54What's so cool is we have AI now. That's all the work for us.
00:58So the number one tip is to use AI as much as possible.
01:03That includes ChatCPT, Gemini, and there's a bunch of other platforms too.
01:07And all you have to do is plug this little thing into that system, and it will give you all the information, all the tags, description, the titles, and all that crap.
01:17And I just plug it in there.
01:19And what's so cool about AI is sometimes I'll take a photo of something, and I'll be like, what the hell did I take a photo of?
01:25And you just plug it into the AI and ask it, what is this?
01:30It will tell you exactly what's in the photo.
01:32It's so cool.
01:34And this whole system that you see, I'll put a link in the description to this post, and you can just steal it from me, okay?
01:44And use it.
01:45All right.
01:46Number two is you want to use multiple platforms, okay?
01:49I used to think that Shutterstock owns 70% of the market.
01:53I was wrong.
01:54It's not.
01:55They're a big player, but there's a lot of other players as well.
01:58And I love Shutterstock.
01:59And it takes editorial content as well as commercial.
02:05And the difference is editorial is anything.
02:07There could be people in there, right?
02:09It could be like a brand.
02:11But commercial is more strict.
02:13If there's people, if there's a brand, recognized places, you have to get like releases and paperwork.
02:20So that's the difference.
02:22And you can do both, okay?
02:24And I'll give you another tip too.
02:26And then you take a photo and there's no, you know, brands or, you know, people.
02:32You don't need releases.
02:33You can just post it to commercial.
02:35Okay.
02:36There's Pond5, which is another great place to do it as well.
02:41There's Adobe Stock.
02:43The only thing is they're very strict.
02:45They only take commercial.
02:46They don't take editorial.
02:48There's deposit photos, which I just got into and I'm starting to post as well.
02:52As well as Giddy Images iStock.
02:54And that might be the biggest player.
02:56So what I'm trying to say is the same content you post to Shutterstock could be posted to all of these other platforms as well.
03:04So you make more money, okay?
03:06All right.
03:07Next up is tips on what to shoot for photos and videos.
03:10And this is the most common question.
03:12Like what the heck do I take a photo of or a video?
03:15And I honestly don't think anyone has the perfect answer.
03:19However, there's a couple of rules of thumbs.
03:21It all comes down to supply and demand, right?
03:24So what do we not take photos of?
03:27Okay.
03:28It's a waste of time.
03:29Well, what's way too popular, like landscapes.
03:32If you look at Shutterstock, there's 15.6 million images of sunset.
03:36So it's going to be really hard to break through.
03:39And touristy stuff like the Eiffel Tower.
03:42You know, everyone's taking a photo of that thing.
03:45So unless it's very unique, I wouldn't even bother.
03:49Okay.
03:50So what's better?
03:51Anything different.
03:52You want to be different.
03:53Differentiate or die, right?
03:55Here's some examples.
03:58You know, people sitting in a cafe in their laptops.
04:01People sitting in a hospital, you know?
04:03Happy or frustrated people traveling, right?
04:07Christmas markets, summer festivals, religious stuff, right?
04:12You know, street food, local dishes, business stuff.
04:15People don't take pictures of business stuff, you know?
04:18So that's another great idea.
04:20All right.
04:22Now, some people, what they do is they go to some unusual place and they'll just take a bunch of photos.
04:29And that does work.
04:30But what I recommend, what I do is throughout your day, if you see something unique and kind of cool, just take a photo of it, take a short video of it, and you're done.
04:39You kill two birds with one stone.
04:41So you don't go out of your way, right?
04:43Because if it doesn't sell, you're not wasting your time.
04:46So you still win.
04:48And it's a lot of fun.
04:49Like, I just went to this pirate festival.
04:51I saw some really cool stuff.
04:52I'm like, wow, that's really interesting.
04:54I'm going to take a photo and a video of it.
04:55I'll post it.
04:56And who knows?
04:57You know?
04:58It could work.
04:59All right.
05:00So, top tips to taking photos and videos that sell.
05:03Let's talk about that.
05:04Vertical photos sell better than horizontal, like this.
05:09Okay?
05:10They sell better like this than like that.
05:12All right?
05:13Same thing with videos.
05:14Videos like this sell better than that.
05:17However, you know, with mobile ads and social media, horizontal content is slowly rising.
05:26Now, if you're wondering how long the video should be, the sweet spot is 6 seconds to 15 seconds.
05:33Boom.
05:34Just like that.
05:35So, if you have like a sign, just do a short little, you know, pan around it.
05:39You know?
05:406, 10 seconds.
05:41You're done.
05:42Real easy.
05:43So, let's talk about the mindset.
05:46The right mindset beats process every time.
05:49And some people go into a new venture with these unrealistic expectations.
05:55I don't recommend that.
05:56You want to have fun.
05:58And I recommend the opposite and really have zero expectations.
06:02Just have fun.
06:03Don't expect to really make any money when you do.
06:06But you can make money.
06:07Don't get me wrong.
06:08There's definitely money in this.
06:09But don't have very high expectations.
06:12And you'll make more.
06:14I hope that makes sense.
06:16I do this with all my content.
06:17Even my YouTube channel.
06:18You know?
06:19I don't expect anyone to watch this.
06:20Everything is a bonus.
06:22Right?
06:23That's what I recommend.
06:24And quality versus quantity.
06:26Well, I'll give you a story.
06:28A while ago I made this TikTok video.
06:30Right?
06:31I forgot to clean the lens.
06:32It was fuzzy.
06:33I messed up the editing.
06:35I was cutting out words.
06:36It was a shitty video.
06:38I still post it.
06:39Guess what?
06:40That video did better than all the other videos I ever made.
06:44You just never know.
06:45Okay?
06:46So, when in doubt, post it.
06:48And when it comes to...
06:49So, by doing more quantity, you'll figure out what works and what doesn't.
06:55Okay?
06:56So, if you're on the fence, just post it.
06:58Okay?
06:59Worst case scenario, they reject it.
07:01Big deal.
07:02Next.
07:03So, my aim is okay photos and videos.
07:06Right?
07:07But speed.
07:08You know, you want to put more fishing hooks out in the ocean.
07:12Okay?
07:13What are some ways to speed this up?
07:15Editing.
07:16I don't edit my photos.
07:17Some people do.
07:18I just find it's quicker not to.
07:20Same thing with my YouTube video.
07:22I don't edit a YouTube video if I just post them.
07:25It's just so much faster.
07:26Right?
07:27Because you only have so many hours in a day.
07:29Alright.
07:30Now...
07:31Yeah.
07:32Another cool thing with Shutterstock, if it gets rejected,
07:36you can still make money from it because they'll use it to train AI.
07:40Okay?
07:41So, it's still pretty cool.
07:42So, the more images and videos that you have posted, the more chances that you'll make more
07:47money.
07:48Okay?
07:49Now, this doesn't mean spam these places with the same content over and over again.
07:54You want different photos and videos of different things.
07:57Hope that makes sense.
07:58Okay?
07:59Equipment.
08:00Equipment.
08:01I used to think that I didn't have the right equipment.
08:03I mean, look at this phone.
08:04This is...
08:05It's got tape on it.
08:07This is the cheapest phone that you could possibly get.
08:10There's nothing cheaper than this.
08:11Well, actually, there probably is, but this one's cheap.
08:15I still make money with this.
08:16I still made money with this.
08:18So, you don't need, like, insane gear.
08:20Now, don't get me wrong.
08:21I mean, some gear can do a little bit better.
08:24And so, don't use that as an excuse not to do this.
08:28Even with your cell phone camera, you could make money at this.
08:32And there's ways...
08:34I'll give you a couple...
08:35One more tip, too.
08:36With, like, these cameras, when you zoom in, the quality gets bad.
08:40So, that's why they have multiple lenses on these phones.
08:44It's so cheap to have one lens.
08:47But there's extensions that you can use so that you can zoom out with your phone.
08:52And, obviously, there's cameras that are better quality, which you can always invest in if you want.
08:58So, yeah.
09:01Next up is find what works and double down, right?
09:05And after a while, you'll learn things from stats, what's working, what's not.
09:10So, you want to double down on what's working, right?
09:14Another thing, too, is always be learning.
09:16That's another tip, too.
09:17Because what's so cool about MicroStock is if you love getting out and traveling, I love doing that.
09:23I love getting outdoors, seeing weird stuff.
09:26You can make money doing that.
09:28And if you're stuck at home, you can still make money.
09:31A while ago, I took a class with, like, CapCut editing and, you know, making these little edits and selling them.
09:39And I don't really like it, but you may.
09:42There's AI art.
09:43There's illustrations, you know, which I'm going to look into getting as well.
09:48So, you can make money with that as well.
09:50Plus, we have crypto.
09:51That opens up a lot of doors.
09:52So, always be learning.
09:54So, there's some tips on getting started into MicroStock and what it's about and how to make money.
10:01And it's passive income.
10:03Once you post these photos and videos, they can make money, you know, years into the future.
10:07So, it's pretty cool.
10:08And, again, for this blog post, I'll put it down below in the link.
10:13So, that way, you can kind of go over it.
10:15And I talk about equipment in more detail in this post.
10:18I talk about how to steal that little thing from ChatGPT and what I put into it.
10:22That helps a ton, okay?
10:24It really does.
10:25And you can check it out.
10:26I'll put the link down below in the description.
10:28So, hopefully, this video might have been at least a little helpful to you, okay?
10:31You have a wonderful rest of your day.
10:33Bye.
