00:05come in and do things that they don't want at least they have a bigger stronghold here on

00:10sweepstakes in california it feels like that state sam doesn't want daily fantasy they don't

00:15want sweepstakes they don't want sports betting they don't want anything yeah california and

00:20especially its tribes have been steadfast fighting these kind of alternate forms of gaming which

00:25again look talk act like regular sports betting but want to be classified as something else so they

00:31don't have to follow the state's law which has kept sports betting illegal uh you know for a long long

00:36time and the tribes have pretty much held the keys to allowing sports betting to be legalized so it's

00:41no surprise that we've seen them fight against these alternate forms did have an interesting

00:45development this week uh one tribe the uh clet cell dhe wind to nation actually spoke out against a

00:53bill that would ban sweepstakes casino gaming these of course are the games that look like sports

00:59books function like casinos but because there's a free-to-play function uh they get federally

01:04regulated as opposed to being subject to state laws but this one tribe actually just partnered with a

01:11company called vgw which offers these social sweepstakes casinos and sports books in california right

01:18now so um you had this one tribe come out and say that we don't want this bill to be passed

01:23it's going to hurt smaller tribes like us which try to get a lot of money from this business to fund

01:28healthcare and other initiatives but it also comes when you've had 50 other tribes speak out

01:33against sweepstakes and really push for this bill to get done so it throws a bit of a wrench in the

01:38process the bill is now uh under what's known as the suspense file which means it's going to be

01:44reviewed again before it goes to the floor but if i had to predict craig i would say that one tribe is

01:49not going to be enough to stop the other 50 that have really been railing against the sweepstakes

01:53business in california
